  1. My husband will be here to attend to my interview, he thinks it will be easier this way.

Regarding your wish on getting an interview for July I don't think it will happen cause if your timeline reflects your actual status your case is still at USCIS and haven't gotten an approval yet so you might still have to wait for about 5 months from now I suppose. My case is now at NVC and it is being submited to a paperwork revewing and it might take another 4 to 9 weeks to be completed and sent to my local Consulate where I would add another 30 days, so I'm trying to be positive and if no RFE (request of further evidence) is asked I believe I might get an interview by the end of July, I'm not expecting to have an interview before this time.

Anyway I believe that with the new NVC system of online payments will help everyone's process to be faster and I hope that you get your interview faster than expected.

    Good Luck!

I need to update my timeline tonight when I get home. We have had the NOA 2 approval and i have paid all the Fees. I submitted the DS-230 document a week ago but I was missing some of the requested civil documents. They were submitted today so the NVC should have everything no later then Friday. Then i just need to wait for them to notify the Embassy in Bogota. So I am still hoping for the July Interview but I will not be surprised if something else comes up.

    Thanks for the advice.

  2. Some consulates allow you to go, some don't. It does not have much impact in theory, but I personally think it is a great idea to go with her. If Bren had not been with me for support, I would have panicked more than I did.

    Buena suerte, L.

Thanks, I will wait for her date for the Interview and see what she thinks. If she wants me there then I will fly down and be with her. It might be interesting to see how the embassy people treat her and the other people that are getting interviews.

  3. Thanks everyone for the information. My wife has been busy getting all the documents together and I should have them by Wednesday night. She has a second set of originals that she can take to the interview, but the Police Report she only has the one original, she is going to get a copy certified by a Notary in Bogota to take to the interview because she says she can't get a second original. I don't know how that works there but I am hoping everything will be okay and she will not need any of the documents when she goes for the Interview. The NVC stated in my phone call that they send everything to the embassy so she wouldn't need any of the documents but when I read the Embassy website it sounds like she does.

I will keep my finger crossed. Again, thank you for all the information.

  4. Well, I messed up when I submitted the DS-230 form and now I am trying to fix it. I didn't submit all the supplemental documentation they asked for out of stupidity on my part. But I am having my wife gather everything now. The question I have is, "Do they need an original Police Report from Colombia or can she just send me a certified copy of the original? Does she need the Police Report for the Interview too?

Please help me if you know.

  5. HI WYODUSTY! WHEN WAS YOUR CASE COMPLETE? DO U HAVE ALREADY SCHEDULE FOR JUNE INTERVIEW? CUZ OUR CASE COMPLETE LAST APR, 10 WERE HOPING TO HAVE SCHEDULE IN JUNE.

Hi Stewart, We just submitted our DS-230 documents, they were received on April 30th so I am hoping that they schedule her Interview in June. We don't have anything from the Visa Center or the Embassy yet. I will post the date when we receive it. I am praying for June though because we have been waiting since last July when we started the process.

  6. Can anyone tell me what questions the Interviewers at the Embassy ask the Visa Applicants? My wife will hopefully have her Interview for the CR-1 visa in June. We have submitted all the papers and now are just waiting for the Embassy to contact her. I was married previously to a woman from Colombia but we divorced shortly after she arrived in the U.S. The first marriage didn't go well because she had other plans once she arrived and they didn't include me. My present wife is a little worried that this may have some bearing on her Interview. I don't think it will but I have never had any dealings with the embassy.

Can anyone help me with some information?
