  1. October 2021. I'll see if there's a way to get a hold of the facility thank you
  2. The RFE we received says to submit i-693, report of medical exam and vaccine information. So it sounds to me like they need a new copy of the medical exam.. but that is good info unfortunately that vaccine record doesn't look familiar to either of us so I'm not sure if they gave us a copy
  3. Sorry I used the wrong wording. We lost the medical exam and didn't file the i-693 with our original paperwork
  4. Good morning all, When we initially filed our i-485 we misunderstood the instructions and did not send our i-693 with our initial application. Unsurprisingly we have an RFE request this information. However we recently moved and we've been searching everywhere for the original envelope and can't find it. Has anyone been in a similar situation before? Did you need to get a new exam, were you able to reach out to the people who originally did your exam to get a new copy? It's been a year and a half since originally filing so I don't even know if the exam is still valid if we didn't send it with the original paperwork. Anyway, huge mess but any advice would be appreciated!
  5. That is all super helpful! Glad to hear we aren't alone in this situation and that we aren't just messing up our submissions lol. Ours should hopefully be in the local field office. It's definitely not at the NBC. Unfortunately online I can't see it but can request an online copy of I don't receive it by beginning of April
  6. Good morning, My husband just got a notification that a second RFE is going to be sent out to us. The first one we responded to over a year ago giving more tax information and also resending out marriage certificate info. He is adjusting from a K1 visa and as we understood it they wouldn't need a copy of our medical exam because we filed within a year. But I am wondering if we misunderstood that? Obviously there is no RFE in the mail for us yet, but after getting a second RFE after a year of not hearing anything I am a bit worried it'll be another year until we hear anything. I am wondering a few things, how common is it to get a second RFE? Do they respond to second RFE's any faster than the first? Should we have submitted medical information? Any sort of insights would be wonderful if anyone has some. Thank you!
  7. How long after i-131 approval does it take for card to be procured on average?
  8. Thanks for some helpful advice! I should know this but I don't, what IS the AP document? Is it the approval letter or do they create a card? It's not going to be a part of the combo card
  9. Hello! Not sure if this is the right forum but hopefully it will get directed where it needs to go. We woke up to an approved i-131 and plan to go back to visit his family for Christmas this year. What are some things to know or any sorts of risk? We only have the approval on the website, how long does it take for actual AP to get mailed out? What's it like travelling with AP? I imagine there's a discussion out there on this site already but I couldn't find it.
  10. Wish I could say we had any new updates! We have the same information as before. Interview waived July 1st and they said the same thing to us, said our case still needs to go through an approval process. Pretty long wait unfortunately!
  11. Lol yeah I don't understand why they're so difficult. But I only have some faith it's accurate because multiple officers had said so. So they're all probably referencing the same thing, whether they're reading it right or not is beyond me
  12. Gotcha. Thanks for the information that makes a lot of sense. I got the interview waived information from several ask Emma attempts trying to get different information but they kept telling me interview was waived but that could change at any point if they decide they need more information
  13. I can't find much information online about this. But as far as I can tell the NBC is the one processing our case. We submitted an RFE back in March of 2022, and I'm wondering if there's any data out there or understanding of how long it takes the NBC to process your case? We also have had our "interview waived" since beginning of July 2022. Is there anywhere to look to get a guess at the processing time of the NBC?
  14. Interesting! So no real telling what will happen, just a waiting game as per usual. We haven't gotten anything in the mail yet, and our status hasn't changed for 6+ months. So it would just be going based off of the agents word. Just waiting and seeing! Thanks
  15. Alright. I know USCIS agents are incredibly unreliable. We've been given so much conflicting information, one said our case was in queue for interview since 7/29/22 at our local field office. One said it's actually been at the NBC this whole time. And the most recent bit of of information we've been told is our interview has been waived since 7/1/2022.. all very conflicting! We're coming from a K1 visa and from what I understand they are not waiving interview for family based i-485s. But I want to know if anyone has had a similar path to us, either wanting to understand what actually happened with your case or get some hope all is not lost.. Anyone's stories or information about any of those processes and timelines would be great. What were you told vs what actually happened?
  16. Hope your news is better than ours! We called them again since our RFE response status still hasn't changed. They said "that's a really long time we'll put in a service request for you" . My husband asked where our case was from what she could see and see said it's still at NVC, so it's not actually in the local field office. Which I assume means it's not in an interview queue and hasnt been this whole time. Best of luck
  17. I'm curious if anyone has had a similar experience. Our case hasn't been updated on the USCIS website since we submitted an RFE. Just RFE response was received since March. Recently we called USCIS and they said our case was in an interview queue since about July 29th. Should the USCIS website update if this is accurate? They also said we should expect to get an interview in the next 2-4 weeks, but people who have also had their case in the "Interview Queue" said theirs stayed there for up to 6 months before. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks
  18. That's odd! My timeline for my k1 visa and AOS are completely filled out with my current status! I'm not sure why it's not showing up? I'm in Utah so the closest office is in SLC
  19. Okay! I hadn't thought of expediting. Thank you for the advice, I'll do some asking around ☺️
  20. Yeah we weren't planning on travel when we initially submitted the i-485 so we submitted that back in April. Hopefully things process at a decent pace and it can still work out, but it sounds like it's out of our hands!
  21. My husband and I were hoping to travel back to New Zealand for Christmas time to visit his family, due to some health conditions his elderly grandparents have. We're still waiting on any news for our AOS, we responded to an RFE back in March and have had zero updates since then. I know that timelines are not ever all the same, but it seems like local offices have been processing it all within about 11 months? We submitted the i-485 back in October of 2021. My question really is, is it too hopeful to try and plan a visit in December? Are there any other options for travel while waiting on the AOS after a K1 visa? We submitted a i-131 in the off chance it would be seen and approved in time for December. I know there might not be any one solid answer but I'm wondering if anyone out there has more information than I do about travel options or processing times? Thanks!
