Thats so nice. Im happy for you. We are approved yesterday and Im already worrying about the affidavit of support because my spouse makes the exact minimum amount required and we cant think of a sponsor. New phase, new issues that kinda makes you question everything :(

I wouldn’t worry about that too much, my wife was barely over the limit. I just put my own salary and savings, it worked just fine.

  2. Hi all,

I’m filling the AOS and, while my spouse has the minimum level of revenue required, it’s closish to the minimum required.

I could add my own revenue and our US assets, which I understand are admissible as long as I can prove that I can continue to work after I move.

now my question is whether the decision is made on a binary basis  (i.e., if revenue larger than minimum required then approved) or if it’s more subtle and I should beef up the application with extra revenue streams, beyond the minimum required.

    thanks!

Just out of curiosity, what evidence in the initial petition did you include for point #4 (demonstrating significant income)?

Besides the job in I-130a (finance industry), I added the invoice for expensive wedding rings from one of the top global jewelers and made sure to include in the photo evidence pictures of us in business class, and at fancy hotels in “expensive” destinations (e.g., safari).

  4. Thanks for sharing your experience.

does anyone know whether a fingerprint certified record is needed by NVC for those of us not applying at a Canadian consulate?

I’ve read on other immigration forums and blogs that you only need the name based check for US immigration.

I know that the state department‘s website also mentions certified (I.e., fingerprint) check but an actual datapoint would be great.

    thanks!

Hiya, welcome! We're in a similar boat then. We also e-filed, NOA1 on the 25th of September and currently at the Nebraska Service Center.

Having seen multiple petitions from September receive their NOA2, has got me hopeful that we're up soon too, but it's annoying to see a petition with NOA1 of September 28th and one with NOA1 of October 20th get approval before us.

My view on why I may have been fast tracked:

    1. “Non problematic” country (France)

    2. I already have a valid non immigrant visa (although not on it)

    3. Post grad + cushy job in big firm on I-130a

    4. Evidence submitted demonstrates significant income vs. age

    5. Only immigrant sponsored (no kid)

Also my NOA2 actually says Nebraska so my case was apparently transferred but I never heard anything about it.

hope you guys’ petition gets approved soon.

    best

  6. Hi guys,

    just giving a datapoint here.

Got my I130 approved on 12/31 with a priority date of 9/23 (99 days), case review started 12/29.

sent to NVC right away and received NVC email already.

To give more context I am a spouse of USC, petition filled right after marriage, she already petitioned someone years ago and age difference is >5y.

No RFE and did everything myself without using an attorney.
