Husband had interview yesterday. It went really well, they barely asked to see any documents and the test was very easy and quick for him.

Heads up: at least at the Chicago field office, don't wear a mask with a vent/exhalation valve! My husband almost got turned away from entering the building because he entered wearing such a mask and they asked him if he had a different one without the valve. Thankfully he brought 2 other masks with him (without the valve), so he was able to switch to that mask and they let him in. Just wanted to let others know!

Current status: Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled. IO said he can't say for sure but that it usually takes 1 month to schedule the oath and that the date will come in the mail with 2 weeks notice.

    Congrats!!!

I was able to see my biometrics appointment letter under “documents” the next day after 9 am. My biometrics appointment was Jan 13 and I got a notice about 30 mins after the biometrics that they were actively working on my case. Then on Jan 18 I got the notice that interview was scheduled.

i don’t think that the estimated completion time is accurate. Mine used to say September 2020, then went away completely sometime in July/August. It came back sometime in November. Now it says my estimated time is June 2021 but my interview is Feb 26.

Wow! May i know where your field office is? Good luck on your interview!

Applied April 1st....but he filed in another state, and then we moved to the Chicago area in May. Filed AR-11 address update May 5th, AR-11 was processed May 15th. Myuscis used to say "Your application is being transferred to another USCIS field office for review" but then that disappeared, now there's nothing at all under the status except "Invalid date Case Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was Emailed". I never received any kind of official confirmation that the case was actually transferred.

How did you message them again? I've tried doing the "open case inquiry" back in July, but all I got was a generic copy/paste with this in October:

So basically they told me nothing. Is there a better way to contact them to get actual answers?

I messaged them about my biometrics appointment. they didn’t get back to me until 2 weeks later but with also like a generic response. Then like a week letter i got my biometrics notice.

    Hi everyone.

My interview is coming up. Applied in April 2020.

I would like to make sure since I applied before December 2020, I am taking the old version of civics test, right?

    Yes old version!😀 Goodluck!

Still no updates here. I don't really understand why people who filed after my husband did are getting updates. This whole system makes no sense.

October 2021? That seems absurdly long. I've heard that the estimation dates are not accurate.

    When did your husband file?

i filed on April 26, 2020. I dont know if it’s because i messaged them last time about my case, but i’m sure you’ll get an update soon!

I wonder if other Chicago filers have waited for that long to get their case completed.😣

I messaged USCIS about my biometrics since my completion date says Feb 2021. I didn’t really get any info

    Here’s their reply:

Your application information has been entered into the system which schedules applicants for biometrics at their local Application Support Center (ASC). Biometrics appointments are scheduled as slots become available at the ASC. Once you have been scheduled for an appointment, you will receive an ASC Appointment Notice to appear at a certain date and time at your local ASC. You must take the ASC Appointment Notice and photo ID to your appointment.

Chicago here, moved here in May from another state after filing, used to show "We're transferring your case to a new field office for review" on myuscis, but now all it shows is "Invalid date Case Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was Emailed". I'm getting concerned as a bunch of other Chicago April filers are getting biometrics reuse notices...and here just nothing. Considering calling USCIS to see what is going on.

I live in Chicago too. My friend applied in August and she got a notification for Biometric Reuse on Dec.30.
i tried calling but you won’t get nothing. Whatever you see in your USCIS account is the same thing they’ll tell you. 😢😭

    Hi All!!
i’m new here in VJ. But i guess i get more answers here (based on all of your experiences) than the USCIS customer service. 😁

April 26, 2020: I sent my N-400 and received the receipt notice

The case completion date on my account says February 2020 but i haven’t heard anything regarding my biometrics or anything at all since April 2020.

does anyone know what I should do at this point? I did send them a message through my “inbox” but they haven’t replied yet.

Also, It looks like they’ve been reusing biometrics for some applicants. I did have my biometrics done in Jan. 2018 for my greencard renewal, so i’m really hoping they’re gonna do the same for me.

    Thanks in advance!!

    2021*
