  1. If you have indeed lost the approval notice, then you'll need to apply for a new one and hold off the AoS application until it arrives. You can apply for a copy by filing I-824 - Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition.

    The fee is $340.

Thank you to all who responded. We'll exert all effort to locate the approval to veer away

from paying that amount. This is making me even more tense!!!

    Thanks everyone.

  2. CONGRATULATIONS DRA.!!!

I'm very glad everything's happening the way we want them to be. I got my visa

last Monday and i had to do the CFO thing the following day coz i wanted everything

to be done and be able to concentrate on my packing and work (hate that part).

:):):D So i still hope to be in touch with you even when we are in US.

Margaux is leaving for CA tom.

You're such a dear friend. I'll be keeping in touch. Wont fly to US till April 18.

Take care and i hope to hear from you before you leave.

  3. hi...i just had my embassy appointment and the lady sitting right next to me

told me that her daughter (11 y/o) doesn't have her passport at that time yet

they went ahead with the embassy interview. I guess, it was allowed since

we talked a few hours after and they were approved. I guess, the best thing

to do though is call USEM and tell them your case.

  4. To all the wonderful VJer's who extended us their warmest "congratulations"

thank you so much. It really wouldn't be a success if it weren't for this great

site...so im sharing our "success" to all the nice people in here.

To Docjazz who will have her turn tomorrow...im very certain it will be a

walk in the park for you. I have so much confidence in you. There's no

other way but for the Consul to approve you.

  5. Hi to all VJer's...i just want to thank the administrators of this site, this is such

a helpful and informative site which i think makes all the difference if one is

reading from this site or not.

To the wonderful new friends i've met...margaux (margautix), Doc Jazz (docjazz)

runs4fun(Dee and lily) and of course Iou, thank you so much for being there for

me and my son even before the medical and up to the interview.

We just got back from Manila and we had our interview yesterday (mar. 3).

It was a very pleasant experience. The consul was very nice (window 44)

and i'd say our interview didn't even last more than 5 mins. He asked me

only one question "How did you meet your fiance". While i was narrating how

we met, he was looking at our pictures ( i had the pictures presented like a

scrapbook with captions) and i could see he was smiling. After my narration

he said..."nice story!" and that's it....he did something in his computer and then

told me "you're visa is approved" and i was shocked! I was really expecting

    he'd ask me more.

It was a very pleasant experience. He was even joking around with my

    8 yr old son.

Well, to those of you who will still have their interview, there really is nothing to

    worry about.

  6. I guess your Fiancee passed the medical with flying colors!!! Congratulations!!!

She texted me this afternoon and we'll just be waiting for our interview dates!

Yup, that's the "highlight" of all this but we'll be alright. Again, Congratulations

and I hope to see Marnie at the embassy come Mar. 3.

  7. "Thank you!

One more question...for those who's kids had a positive skin test for TB, how long did it take to see the induration to appear? Was it a couple of hours, or did it take up till the last minute to appear?

    Thanks.

    Scott"

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My son's "wheal" started to appear the 2nd day. I honestly wasn't expecting him to be (+) since

he had a skin test done in a reputable hospital here in Cebu and it was (-). It was really a very

small induration (but obviously not small enough to be declared negative). The wheal wasn't

itchy and red like the other's i've seen. Usually, some would complain of itchiness a few hrs after

the injection of the drug and the wheal it produces is bigger about 2-3 inches in diameter.

  8. Hi,

My son (Paolo, 8 years old)nd i had our medical last Feb.6, 2008. The

first day, most of the procedures that were done were mostly centered around me.

The doctors didn't subject him to Chest Xray, blood extractions or collection of

    urine for UA.

Well, it was only during the immunization interview where the doctors asked me

about Paolo's past medical history and the immunizations he got. I brought with

me his baby book and that's where the doctor referred to for the immunization history.

After the immunization interview, Paolo then had to have his skin test (which i know was just

recently implemented among children). We were asked to come back exactly 48 hrs

for his induration reading. When we came back, it read positive (probably due to his

BCG vaccine as an infant). Since it was positive (20 mm induration) he was subjected to

a chest x-ray. The results came out a day after and everything was alright. He was even not given a

single vaccine because according to the doctors his immunizations were complete.

With regard to the physical exam, the mothers are to accompany their children during

the physical exam and boys will have male doctors. I've learned too that if the child is

to accompany the mother (as stated in the petition), the mother's results will not be

released till after the child is cleared.

    I hope my experience helps.

  10. Hi Jane,

I too work for a government agency and it so happen that the gov't agency Im with

is really strict with the travel order. I asked our "personnel" (Office of the Court Admin)regarding

this and I guess they gave me the "protocol" answer which is like to get a T.O before

    travelling outside the country.

Well, one co-worker almost missed her flight to US last year due to that T.O. however

like what the other vjers advised you as long as you will not divulge where you're connected

at, you will probably not be bothered.

The best of luck to you and i wish you a happy trip!

  11. Hi,

To all the nice people of VJ who took the time to reply...THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I'm in Cebu and our NSO local office is closed but I'm set to go and get a new

set of BC's for me and my son.

Again, thank you all so much. Take care everybody.

  12. Hi,

I requested last Jan. 11 from census.gov.ph for my son's NSO birth certificate

and my own NSO birth cert. too. The thing is, it's been 2 weeks and upon

checking online it says there that my request is still being processed.

Now, im wondering if my old NSO issued birth certificates for me and my

son will be accepted? I got this last 2001. Im confused coz ive heard some

people say that NSO that is presented to the embassy should be issued within

the last 6 mths. The information in the Birth certificate will not likely to change...

so why do i have to get the latest?

    Hoping for replies.

  13. Hi there! thats a good idea for the preparation on the interview. Thanks for that... and by the way can i asked you some question sinced you already had your interview appointment. Can i know how did you know your appointment? did you called to the USEM for you to know your schedule? We've got our NOA2 last January 13, 2008. And we just want to know how to checked our schedule and when the packet will arrive..

Thanks again for the information and we appreciate everything you've shared...God Bless !!!

    Hi,

From you post i gather that you received your NOA2 Jan. 13, 2008, in a couple of weeks your petitioner

will receive a letter from NVC stating your Manila case number (MNL2008XXXXXX). When you do have

the Manila case number you can check online for the interview sched http://203.177.135.10/ivappointment/login.asp

    Hope this info helps.

  14. :help: Please help me....I'm really curious as to how one will know

when his/her case is already being shipped to NVC? Will we get another

letter from the service center (CSC in my case) advising us that our case is being

    forwarded to NVC?

When it's with NVC already can we check our "status" like we can while our

papers is still with the service center (USCIS.GOV)? Or should we wait to check our status

till after a new case number is assigned?

I'm curious coz we just got our NO2 last Dec. 11, 2007 and im clueless as to what will

    happen next...

    Please help me.

    Thank you.
