  1. we had our AOS interview yesterday at the Las Vegas USCIS Field Office. I didn't sleep at all the night before knowing that we don't have enough substantial evidence to bring. This is what we had on hand as evidence:

    3 pictures from our wedding

2 sworn statements from our housemates confirming my husband residency

1 denied letter from the bank (as proof of my husband's address)

    1 bank of america statement

    2 life insurance policy

and TONS of PICTURES when we were in the PHILIPPINES (K-1 Filing stage)...now I thought we no longer needed these pictures because we have already submitted them before the manila interview, I was wrong. My husband INSISTED we bring it and guess what? They looked at each and every one of it (we had maybe 30 pics)

We walked in 15 minutes before our schedule but we were processed right away. Went to Room 1. There were two IO's. They talked to both of us in tandem but the assistant seemed to really observed our facial reactions while the other one was busy going through some paperworks. Questions:

    to hubby:

    name?

    birthday?

    address?

    mother's name?

    father's name?

    day of arrival?

    to both

where and when was wedding day?

    where was your honeymoon at?

when did you go to the philippines?

have you met each others parents?

They browsed (really quickly, you can say it was just a glance) through the documents we brought. They took the papers in the back office and told us they need to make copies on all of them. He came back and handed them back to us. Grabbed a white paper with printed instructions. They asked both of us to sign it. So startled, I didn't even recall reading through it except for a phrase that said STEPS ON REMOVING CONDITIONS... I held my breath for a sec when I realized it was all over, we were approved. The assistant jokingly told my hubby: SO I GUESS, THE NEXT TIME I SEE YOU WILL BE ON YOUR OATH TAKING? We just giggled and headed out the door.

I recalled looking at the time 5 past 11 and we were walking back to our car. All I kept thinking was "thank you so much, thank you god!" My hubby will get his GC 5-7 days.

Thank you so much for visajourney. I'm sure if not for this site, we would never make it this far in our ordeal. but it's all good because now we can rest. For all those awaiting their AOS, it's normal to get nervous but keep in mind that lots of prayers and confidence will always help.

  2. Hello guys, we have our interview schedule this coming monday and I'm very nervous (maybe just half as what i felt during my husband's embassy interview).

Please wish us all the good luck and prayers. I could've been more confident if we had all our documents completed in time but I guess we'll have to do with what we have.

We'll post our interview review/result on monday afternoon. :innocent:

  3. Here's our situation:

my husband got his State ID back in March. On may 4th, we went to U.S. Bank so I can add him to my accounts. Bank denies him because his State ID was noted to expire on May 22nd. Went to B of A, and the same thing. So when we got our AOS NOA on may 26th, we ran down to DMV to have his State ID renewed and even wanted to get his Driver's license (we've been practicing  ). However, DMV denied and said Receipt Notice/AOS NOA is not valid document to renew. they need a Green Card to do it. As a result of all this drama, all we have got for our AOS interview are:

    1. Wedding pictures and marriage documents

    2. American family life insurance beneficiary

    3. I-693 medical (will be going to the doc tomorrow for this)

all other documents required have been submitted except for these, which, we don't have:

    1. car insurance policy

    2. health insurance (company wouldn't let me add him until enrollment time in december)

Now I found out from a friend yesterday that you could try (depends on who you talk to at DMV) to renew your State/Drirver's license with your EAD as supporting document). Now i'm confused on what to do.

Should I call and reschedule our interview so we can (a)I go down to DMV, renew his ID Card, (b)get him added on my bank account and car insurance? or just go to the interview and tell the IO why we don't have much evidence with us and show him (a)the denial letters from the banks, (b)and his expired state ID

Our interview is coming up (Aug 17th) and i'm really freaking out.

  5. My fiance is already on his way as I am typing this, to here, in the U.S. and I can't be any happier and grateful for this site. If not for this forum, I don't think we'd be on this stage by now, if not, at all.

Anyways, I would like to share our experience in buying my fiance's one-way ticket. I scoured the internet booking sites like sidestep & expedia but fares range from $800 & up. Now, I found one travel agency (manila-based) and they have the lowest rates I could find. My fiance's ticket cost us $500.00 including EVERYTHING! that travel tax they have to pay? also included. Now, I don't know these guys. There was no way to find out if this company is legit or not because I'm here in the U.S. and my fiance is from Cebu City. I contacted them through text only. finalized everything through text. Took the risk of wiring money to them. And voila! we got our e-ticket! called EVA Air a few minutes after they said it was booked and the airline confirmed.

Now, the main reason I'm sharing this is because we all know we've spent so much money to get this whole K-1 process going, let alone, the U.S. economy which is totally upside-down right now. So, I hope Admin won't delete this posting. I just want to help other fellow petitioners to save some money. Don't let those popular booking sites rip you off with your hard-earned money!

Just PM me and I'll be very very happy to give you the details.

I hope this will be of big help.

i arrived here in san francisco last feb 12,2009 and i took eva air too i just payed 517 dollars only... eva air is very good airplane

Seems like they really have a nice fleet...

  6. I think they will not know it if you will not going to tell on the Medical Exam at SLEC.

Got one friend who had abortion before but she passed the Medical Exam at SLEC.

    Good Luck

Do they count it against you if you had one? She should be honest and tell them about it right?

Can they tell if she had one by examining her or by medical records? It was recent that she had one. We are very worried about it.

if you check out evaair website one way to mnl-lax is only something like $300 pre tax.

    http://eservice.evaair.com/online/html/eng...an/eibsa009.asp

yup. with taxes = $430.00 + travel tax.

however, can only be done on two conditions:

    1. purchase online only and

    2. name of passenger must match name on credit card. petitioner cannot purchase for beneficiary.

  7. I bet you got the first time immigrant rate... way cheaper than ordinary fare.... So for others who are still planning to buy their OW tket to the USA, ask for a FIRST TIME IMMIGRANT RATE... :)

nope. travel agent said K-1 is not an immigrant visa. If it is for first time immigrant rate, airline will reject the booking without a copy of the visa issued by the embassy.

it was just a one-way fare that we bought. however, she said there are rates also for first time immigrant and filipinos working abroad (I didn't bother to ask about that).

  10. STRAIGHT TO THE POINT: I hope both petitions get denied, if they ever pursue it. You are nothing but one pathetic, selfish person taking advantage of other people's feelings. KARMA will get you and you will be flagged and put on the DHS/USCIS watchlist.

You don't belong here at visajourney. Here, we help each other so we can all be with our significant others, and all for the right reason:LOVE. Your intention is clearly not even close and all you want is use someone to get to the U.S. Shame on you!

  11. Excellent!!! That was the word from the consul after he interviewed me.

The pre-screener and the consul almost had same questions during my interview. I think they were doing that to see if my answers were just the same.

    Here are the Qs:

    Pre-screening questions:

    My full name

    My age

    My birthday

When and how did we meet?

When did we meet in person?

    For how long?

    Is he married?

    Does he has children?

    How many?

    A boy or a girl?

    What's his work?

Then she asked some of my documents like affidavit of support and supporting docs, pictures, emails, cards, chatlogs, my birth certificate, cenomar, nbi clearance.

    Consul questions:

    My full name

    Age

    Birthdate

    My petitioner

    What city does he live?

    Is he married?

    How many times?

    Does he has children?

    How many?

    What's her/his name?

    How old is she?

    Is she single or married?

    When was his final divorce?

Did I able to go abroad before?

and when he turned to the second page of the I-129F, he asked my fiance's home number

And he said: Excellent, you can take your seat now outside. Everything is fine, your VISA is approved!! Enjoy your stay in the US....I got a pink slip guys!!!

And i said Thank you so much!!!

To all the VJ members Thank you so much guys!!!!!!!! And to my sis Chadherm,, sis the wait is almost over, congrats to us!!!!!! And thanks too. :)

yeheey! congrats to you too!!!

  12. My fiance passed his interview yesterday. february the 12th, and up until now we still could not believe it! almost two long years since we met and finally, it's time he comes over here and start our new life, our new family. And, on this great victory we have achieved, I have everyone here at visajourney to thank for. If not for this forum, I don't think we would've gone through this process smoothly. This goes out to everyone, THANK YOU!

Now for those who are still waiting for NOA2, just hang in there...your day will come. I never thought this day would come, QUICK!

For those just waiting for the interview date: Just be yourself. Review the most common things that you ought to know about your fiance/fiancee and you'll be fine. and oh, like what my fiance told me: Answer from the heart...it'll just all come out naturally as you answer...

Now for the questions they asked:

    PRE-SCREENER

    1. why do you have so many call records?

    2. how did you meet?

    3. when did you meet in person?

    4. what does you fiancee do for a living?

    5. can i see some of your pictures?

    6. have you met your fiancee?

    7. how many times did you see each other in person?

    8. have you been married?

    9. was your fiancee married before?

    10. do you have children?

    11. does she have children?

    12. when did she visit you?

    13. what's the address of your fiancee?

    14. what's her parents address in hawaii?

    CONSUL

    1. why do you have so many call records?

    2. how did you meet?

    3. when did you meet in person?

    4. what does you fiancee do for a living?

    5. can i see some of your pictures?

    6. have you met your fiancee?

    7. how many times did you see each other in person?

    8. have you been married?

    9. was your fiancee married before?

    10. do you have children?

    11. does she have children?

    12. when did she visit you?

    13. what's the address of your fiancee?

    14. was she born in hawaii?

    15. when did she move to the u.s. mainland from hawaii?

As you can see, the consul really grilled my fiance and asked the same questions at least twice. She was very, and I mean, very upset that we had 10 pounds worth of evidence, most of which, were call records.

Consul:"if you think your gonna convince me to approve your visa by giving me a lot of these call record print-outs, your wrong! This won't help."

My fiance: Ma'am, I'm sorry. We thought that the more evidence we had, the easier it will be to prove our genuine relationship to you.

Consul: "In america, words are powerful. Just don't lie. We believe in your words. And you don't have to bring all these."

The statements above were said so many times over and over again until my fiance started shedding tears thinking that we were going to be denied.

My fiance literally started crying really hard because he thought that all our plans, our hopes, and our dreams were being flushed down the drain. Then the consul, staring at my fiance and at all the evidence that we had, started crying too. And so did her assistant sitting right behind her.

Consul sobbing: "You really love her"

Then, tearfully, she said: I'm gonna approve your visa. I can see that you really love her so much. She's very lucky that you're like that. She's lucky to have you. All I did was to see if she'll be okay with you. The relationship is running very strong and will be doing great in the future. That's all. Good luck and welcome to america! (wiping her tears away to maintain her composure)

LESSON LEARNED: Don't overdo your evidence especially the ones for proving your relationship. I mean, it's nice to have a substantial quantity but not TOO MUCH.

    Thanks again everyone!!!

  13. you better call the NVC again if your papers was sent to USEM. bec. some of the papers was stuck in NVC for how many weeks...

I called them again tonight and they told me that it left NVC last friday and normally takes about 4-5 days to get to USEM in manila. i can't wait...

Call the Embassy in Manila and try to schedule an interview if your fiancee has passed her medical. If she hasn't been to St. Luke's yet to have her medical, it is time to go there first.

we'll call tomorrow. thanks all for the quick response!:thumbs:

  14. This is unbelievable! I started crying when I got the approval notice through email! Feels like i won the lottery. Just hang in there other september filers, your days are coming...

    Hi,

I just got the same email! Me and my fiance are so happy! I filed in September.

Do you know what is next? What do I need to do now?

I have read about it a lot but it's all very confusing!

Thank you for your help and congratulations!

Thanks everyone!:blink: I guess we'll have to wait for the NOA2 letter and I'm sure all the specific instructions are in there. I also started reading the thread located here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;#entry829476
