    Hi everyone,

My USCIS field office is also SLC and I had my interview today. I applied in March 19 and on June 6 I got a notice saying that my interview was ready to be schedule. I also applied from a student visa (so it's a little different than everyone here). I got my EAD (didn't apply for parole/travel permit in March), on September. But since I wanted to travel next year and the process is taking so long, I also applied for the advance parole/travel permit on August 6. Last week of November i got a letter with my interview date (today 12/11). I only had a week and a half to prepare everything, but it was plenty of time. I went to the interview today and it took about 30 minutes. The officer was nice. Asked us to swear to tell the whole truth, took a picture and got my fingerprints. Explained how the interview was going to be and started going over the form i-485... he asked EVERYTHING that was in that form and made me sign at the end. After that he asked how we meet, how we got engaged and when he met my parents. Then we went through the documents I took (TONS OF DOCS) and kept just the ones I DIDN'T submit with my package (example: the new car we leased, our renewed apartment contract, most recent pictures, etc). Then he said I was going to receive a decision soon and he finalized explaining how to apply for the citizenship.

Tips: if the officer asks you to tell "how you met", tell him everything with the most details you remember. DON'T summarize the story.
DON'T reschedule your interview date. It's just gonna take much longer and it's never a good idea to reschedule anything with immigration.
