  1. OP, are you still married to your USC spouse?

If you are, it's quicker for him to file for them as his stepchildren.

Yes, very much married :) Thank you for suggestion as I am wondering the same thing. I am in the process of gathering the important documents as I dont want to wait till they (my children) will reach over 21 yrs old. Visa journey has always been helpful to me since we started our K1 process. Thank you ALL for those who replied!!!

  2. hi

the wait for children over 21 is over 10 years so they will have time to finish their education. are both children over 21? then they have a long wait

you only have to file the i130 for each of them

Thank you all for the response. They are 17 and 21 yrs old. From the time they get there Visa, do they have to fly here right then or does it have a grace period when they can fly here? Thank you very much

  3. Hello! I am ready to petition my two sons here in the US. I am still a 10 yr GC holder. Can anyone here please send me a link of things I have to do or to paperwork to be filed? I would like to know the time frame of processing the papers too. My eldest son is taking Mechanical Engineering and his in his third year right now. We would like like for him to finish his course before coming over here. Is there any grace period when to fly to the US? Thanks in advance for those who are replying.:thumbs::rolleyes:

  4. Congrats  !! I'll update your approval on April Filer's list for you:) !

Did you know it by e-mail or letter? When did you get it?

Please visit April Filer's thread when you get a card ;)

Thanks Yurika and Jim! He told me right on the spot that we were approved and that I'll just wait for my Card in a few days or week.

Congrads!!! I've just sent out my package this month, may I know if everybody needs to have an interview?

Not all the filers have interview some of us don't even have RFE the immigration just sent them a new card right away

  5. Hello guys! I just want to tell the good news to everybody tonight. We had our interview last Friday at 9:00 am. I gathered all the documents we needed to prove that our marriage is geniune and that we live in the same house all these years. i had also 5 or six photos with me but carry my usb card just in case the officer would want more photos from us. Finally we we're called and were asked to sworn that we can only answer the truth and nothing else. As soon as me and my husband were seated the immigration officer told us that as soon as he saw us he believe that he are still married and that he don't really need to question us anymore. He said that he's in an officer for quite a while and doing the same job all over again is an easy task for him to see whose marriage is falling apart or not. We told him about our experience during the first year of being together that my husband lost his job and it was a rough yr for both of us. The Officer was pleased to hear the story he said it only proves that for better of for worse, we will always be there for each other and he wish us luck.

Now I am just waiting for my 10 yr GC and he told me that I can apply for citizenship in yr 2011!

  6. Thanks for the reply. I was thinking the same thing too but was just not sure about it . I hope the immigration here won't question my passport and GC being different from the other.

  7. Hello everybody! Does anybody have here have a similar situation like I have right now . I have two first name which is ANA CARENINA and MAGBANUA my family name. That was reflected in my previous passport. When I arrive and got married here I change my name with only ANA HASS using my husband's last name. Last year of September I renewed my passport and told them to follow my name reflected in my Green card which is ANA HASS.Well, when the consulate send me back the new passport the name that is written in there is now, ANA CARENINA MAGBANUA HASS. now my problem is that I would be going home next year and I am confused of what name I should use, should I follow my Green card or should I follow my passport, which is which? I hope somebody can advise and have been through with this situation. Thanks and more power!

  9. I guess if you are far from the Philippine consulate you can mail-in your application. The reason why I said this is because I applied my new passport by mail last August 2009 and got a New machine readable passport by September although their site already said it should be by personal appearance. To make sure you contact them first

  10. People,

all of you who are about to file the I-751 soon or in the future, here's some valuable advise to you. The main factor whether or not your petition to remove conditions will be approved or not, is whether or not you are still (happily) married to your USC spouse, and live together in the same household.

If you answer YES to this question, 100% of you will be approved.

All they want is that you send them SOMETHING that shows that this is the case. Don't send them a big file, send them a few meaningful documents that show the intermingling of finances and living. Make it easy for them to approve you; don't try to slow them down by drowning them in paperwork so that the I.O. in charge wants nothing more than putting YOUR file back to the bottom of the pile.

If I remember correctly, I sent a total of 17 or 18 pages, including the cover letter and copies of GC, and including 3 or 4 pages of 3 photos each. I didn't sent rent/mortgage/, bank statements, or affidavits at all.

ROC is not like AOS, although I can understand that it might be stressful for many.

If your marriage is real, you WILL be approved. I have NEVER heard of a case where a happily married couple is separated by the immigration people. If you don't have a rental contract, okay; if you don't have a joint bank account, that's okay too. Just send them what you have, and don't worry too much about being approved. You WILL be approved.

Thanks Bob! You make me feel at ease now.

  11. I just had my passport renewed last September and I am under Washington DC. It says in their site that Applicants should appear personally but they consider my application by mail coz we lived far from Washington. With regards to the second question, yes they will return the old passport to you together with the new one.

  12. About 1 to 2 years ago there was someone that admitted to drug use at their interview at manila and they were denied the Visa.. I forgot who the person was.. Hopefully someone here on VJ can remember the post that I am talking about.

yeah, I remember that post too. The girl told theexaminer that she had tried it once for fun and she was denied during the interview just because of sniffing marijuana once. I don't remeber the name of the poster too eventually their relationship didn't work out aftet that.
