Do you have to reschedule ceremony if you return 10 days before EVEN IF vaccinated?
How thoroughly do they check the travel history between your interview and the oath ceremony?
-
I got my interview after 8 months and passed. Nothing out of the ordinary and I was able to explain my absences alright.
I'm now wondering how long it will take to schedule oath ceremony. It's been almost ten days and still have not received a letter. What have people's timelines been?
-
Is it possible in principle to postpone an oath ceremony until a later date? Are their potential dangers in doing so?

Are they doing same-day oaths in Brooklyn jurisdiction?

Hi all, just got my interview but the letter went to the old address. They didn't update in time. What should I do? Will the digital copy suffice or do I need to get my hands on that old letter?
-
Edit: does anyone know how long it should take for address change to be reflected on my account? It doesn't seem to be possible to just change address from my online profile any more. But I already filled out the change of address form online. Should I additionally do it per mail to be safe?

I just moved down the road and changed address with USCIS and my waiting time bumped from 9 months to 13 months. Is this normal? NY area.
-
So they reject around 15% of applicants. Wonder why.

Anyone having trouble uploading files to USCIS right now?
-
Seeing how many Feb filers have been approved already, is it safe to assume the process has sped up significantly? Seems this has not affected NYC too much unfortunately...

What kind of an organisation is USCIS that it allows such disparity of case loads between its centers of 3 months to 15 months respectively? Is it really that difficult to harmonise these processes?

Does anyone have n400 timelines for this office?

Once you are gone 181 days, continuous residency for purposes of naturalization is broken. You will likely have wait 4.5 years to naturalize.
I suggest you come back every 5 months even if for just 24 hours.
Oe take your chances begging the USCIS case officer.
This is incorrect. It is presumed to be interrupted unless you can prove otherwise and many do.

Customs and border security treat you like when you hold a green card, a little less so when you're an actual US citizen. May not matter if you don't travel.

Thanks Savva. But I mean: are there any consequences / implications for the N400 process?
-
Does anybody know what happens if you move state/address at this point in the process?

It is okay to travel outside of the STATE in the two weeks before interview, right? Not sure if I have to travel yet, and it'd be by car. The interview notice only specifies to not travel outside the US, but I wanted to make sure there are no other COVID restrictions right now? Thank you.
Interested in this answer too: can you write what the letter says exactly, or upload a screenshot?
Also, does anyone have a sense how long n400 applications are taking at this office post-covid?

Google doc for January filers?

If you lived here at any point between the age of 18 and 26, you should have registered for the selective service (draft). You can go to https://www.sss.gov/verify/ to verify that you had signed up, and print a record to bring to your interview.
Does "live" mean as permanent resident or do visas like F-1 also count?

From what I can see, it looks like Brooklyn actually has the slowest processing in the country now (currently 24.5 months).
Hopefully the Biden effect should start to improve things in the coming months.
If you move address, do they shift your location to another processing centre or are you stuck?
-
Why are these offices so ineffecient when others across the USA are processing applications quicker?
-
It was probably around late November. Still nothing more than notification they've received it. But that was the worst time for applying for anything. Reentry permits are not being prioritised right now. By October I imagine things will be fine.

They finally acknowledged receipt around one month ago so the wheels are turning
