  1. Hi guys, I wanted to give y'all some update. Sorry, I have been very busy lately so haven't had the time to log in here. TLDR: I am a citizen now!

So, about a week after my interview was cancelled I got an online notice saying my interview was scheduled for Feb 26th. I did not know about it until I received the hard copy of the letter in the mail about 5 days after the online notice. So, keep checking your actual uscis account and not just the uscis case status website which never updated my status from "interview was cancelled" until after the interview. Anyway, I went for my interview which was at 8 am. I arrived there at 7:45 am and went checked in. There were may be 5-6 other people there for the interview. My interview went very smoothly. I answered the first 6 questions on the civics test and the reading and writing test. The interviewer asked if I had any evidence for the traffic ticket (minor stuff) that I had paid off in 2014. He was like it was a long time ago but since I mentioned it in the application he would like to see that it was paid off. I gave him the court deposition and the driving record. After that he asked me the Yes/No questions. After about 25 minutes (which felt like an hour), he printed the oath ceremony notice and said I passed and that I could do the oath the same day at 1 pm. After I left the building, he called me on my phone and said I could come in at 10:30 and take the oath. So, I went back at 10:15, checked in, and at around 11 am, about 8 of us were given the oath. It was a pretty tame ceremony with just one guy saying what is different now that we were citizens and what to do next. Then the oath. We grabbed out certificates and left right after.

So, overall, the experience was not too bad. I was very nervous about it but as the interview progressed I became calmer and after that it was a smooth sailing.

I wish you all good luck in your journey. Please let me know if you have any questions. I will try to answer whatever I can.

  2. Hi guys, I got a letter from USCIS stating my interview has been scheduled for the middle of January 2021!

I applied on August 31st and my biometrics were reused. My friend who applied about 15 days earlier than me hasn't received a biometrics appointment letter yet. I am not sure how of if they are prioritizing the applications. The only difference between him and I (both single) is that my GC expires in 2022 and his in 2025.

Hey I just found this thread, I applied on June 8th in New Orleans, I have my interview scheduled end of december

    That is great!! congrats!

By the way, I sent USCIS a message online inquiring the status of my case. I got a reply a couple of days ago (17 days after I sent the inquiry) with the following:

"Your application information has been entered into the system which schedules applicants for interviews at their local Field Office. Interview appointments are scheduled as slots become available at the Field Office. Once you have been scheduled for an appointment, you will receive an Interview Appointment Notice to appear at a certain date and time at your local Field Office. You must take the Interview Appointment Notice and photo ID to your appointment. Please review the Interview Appointment Notice for any other requirements."

My estimate is July 2021 and I applied early July 2020. It was first estimated May 2021, then Jun 2021, then July 2021.

I don't know why it takes so long. Do you know any other who applied in New Orleans too?

I know one other person who applied a couple of weeks before me and their estimated date of completion is August 2021. They haven't received anything other than the initial receipt notice.

    When did you apply?

I applied in July 2020 and still haven't heard anything yet. Do you know anyone in New Orleans have their interviews scheduled yet?

I applied in August 2020. I haven't heard anything from them other than the biometrics reuse notice a week or so after filing the application. My case completion estimate says September 2021. How about yours?

Why does my form say it will be processed at National benefit center ?

and mailed you a receipt notice or acceptance notice. It is being processed at our National Benefits Center location. The notice describes how we will process your case.

I believe all n400 applications filed online go to the NBC first for "processing" and then sent to the local field office after. I filed mined on August and it is being processed at the NBC as well.

    Hi!

I finally filed N-400 on the 25th of the Sept. I got an update that the est. waiting time is 6 months (March 2021).

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to print the completed N400 form before submission. It was so wrong for me to presume that I can still get back to the document in my USCIS online account.

May I ask if anyone has any input regarding this? Will it be required or needs to be presented during the biometrics or interview?  Thank you.

You should be able to get your completed n400 form from the documents tab (edit: in your myuscis account). There should be a link called "view case snapshot."

    hey guys!

Just updating you guys on my case.. today i got a notification from the uscis app on my n400 case. It says that my biometrics was scheduled already. Yay. But i will have to wait for my appointment letter in the mail.

I checked the uscis egov website and it reflected my status there.

Meanwhile i checked just the uscis gov website and it has not been reflected yet there.

Oh and i also wanted to say there was discrepancies on the dates. In my noa1 letter it had sept 8 as the received date and they sent my noa 1 on sept. 16. But on the websites it had sept 15 or 16 listed. A bit odd. But i remember when i was doing my k1 visa and aos too there were some discrepancies between those 2 websites and actual noa 1 and noa 2.

So anyway because those 2 websites show different info... i usually check my case on two websites now just tbe sure.

I did not know that there were two places to check the case status. Is the account at egov dot uscis dot gov the same as the one at uscis dot gov?

Hi, I got my biometrics reuse notice on Sept 4 (online) as well. Did your case status change in your uscis online account? Mine is still "We received your application" with "We are taking longer than expected..." in the estimated wait time.
