Yep I tried two or three times already and declined it within three days. I plan on suieeing nvc if I do not hear from them after 17 months. I’m going buy poodena to see if they are on track or not. I’m tired of waiting. But still long way to go

I am pretty sure lot of people are suing NVC but it's beaucratic game unless the top guy is personally bothered I don't think any thing going to be changed for third world citizens.😄

but still they should still be coverd the pakistanis  faster even with afghan cases. So i guss the time will now be increasing more then 20 months or something….. with how slow this is going.

True that. So normal IR 1 processing times for Pakistanis from start to finish is 48 months average nowadays.

  3. One thing I don't understand that how come ISL is so slow as its not the biggest embassy and i am pretty sure not alot of Pakistanis apply for immigration to US compared to Indians or Bengaldeshis or Chinese. If these embassies have caught up to their humongous backlogs then eliminating backlog in ISL embassy would be easy considering if they are sincerely trying to overcome it which obviously isn't the case. I think ISL embassy is Intentially delaying cases although I have no proof to prove my point. On average how many cases per month ISL emabssy receives may be less than 1000 or even less than 500.

lol true. They finally reached March 3rd 2021 for interview in September according Facebook pak immigration. Now we wait in august to see what days they will cover more in March. Usually what days do they send out interview letters? End of the month or in the middle.  That means poodena still has about five months left……. For an answer. I’m going by his since he is close to waiting

I wonder what happened to the additional staff they said they were hiring to tackle that massive backlog few months back and still no sign of improvement not even slightest hope. They should import staff from Dhakka aur Mumbae for time being and sent ISL staff there since these two consulates have already caught up to Backlog so they can afford some slacking by Isl staff 😂🤪

so they just covered up till February 24 ? And not finish it this month that sucks. I guss I won’t hear nothing till like end of next year then. Man I wonder why they cannot do it like Mumbai embassy they are all caught up now with theirs.

On Instagram some one posted DQ 1st March 2021 Interview on 15 September 2022 in ISL emabssy. Considering their pace and intentions looks like they are going to hibernate all of winter as well. 😂

haha yeah that’s what we also decided as well. Before it was just 10 months to wait for visit visa now increasing. I just hope inshallah they will move a bit faster within this few months.

I don't know what happened to the extra staff they were bragging about that they hired specifically to speed up the process at Islamabad embassy. One can only hope so that they wake up and speed up things inshallah.

you can try. But do note that Islamabad visit visa priority is not at all they have appointments available a year later. That’s why we didn’t try at all. But you can give it a go though if you like. They also increase the fees a bit.

That's what I have heard so basically I'll be paying more for waiting for a year just for a visitor visa. I think I am good then 😁

lol I know. But you guys in 22 dq will be even waiting a lot longer then us folks who are document qualified in 2021. I just wish they did afghan cases and our cases along with it to improve or fast. Poodena been waiting 11 months and I am waiting close to 7 months now.

Now now don't jinx our chances of being done and through this process 😁

may be things will improve in isb embassy and your wife interview letter will come in couple of months just like what india did almost finished the backlog in just two months.

I really hope so bit considering the current speed of Islamabad embassy issuing interview letters it seems a far fetch dream.

To qualify on assets, you would need 3X the income requirement in liquid assets.  The 401k is not fully liquid.  Sounds like you have just over 1X, not 3X.  You'll need a qualified joint sponsor or to get back to the USA and go to work.

Thank you for your answer. Looks like I have to find a joint sponsor after all.

    1. did u naturalize? or is this F2a visa

    2. 401 k if taken out before age 59 1/2 acquires a 10% penality and taxes to be taken out (federal and state)  20% for federal (state unknown)

so now they are taking 8000 for federal and 4000 for the penatity leaving u with 30,000 minus state taxes

    3.  only u know your investments so refer to the I 864 guidelines INSTRUCTIONS page 12  to figure this out

    4. don't forget the income exclusion and form 2555 when filing your US taxes for every year in Pakistan as we have a tax treaty with your country

Yes I did naturalize and now I am a citizen. And you are right about the penalty and deductions and my total investment in stocks in around 10k but considering the stock market situation it's also going downhill atm. And thank you for the information regarding form.2555.

    I see.  Thanks.

  12. Hello All,

I hope you all are doing well. I have a situation. I recently had to resign from my job in the USA and had to come back to Pakistan and I have to stay here for some time. Now my wife CR1 case is documantarily qualified and our consulate is Islamabad. Considering all the backlog I don't think her interview would come any time soon. Although I had submitted my 2020 tax return and My 2021 tax returns are ready to be presented at the time of interview. Now my concern is since I am out of job atm and by the time her interview will come it probably be in mid of 2023 so I probably would have to fill another AOS and have to show my tax return of 2022. My question is will my assets will be enough to prove financial stability like my 401k which has almost 40k in it. Then I have investment in stocks. I also have a property here in Pakistan worth 26000 dollars. Will all of it be enough Or do I still have to come up with a joint sponsor. I am also looking jobs to work remotely but so far no luck.

    Thank you in advance.

Yeah i know mumbai embassy have issuses many more

I have seen mumbai embassy worked faster after issuing letters to jan 2021 DQs may be less number of people got DQ after jan 2021 in CR and IR1 categories ? Agree or not ?

Any updates of new interview letter in islamabad embassy of IR & CR1

I can't say with certainty if it's true or not but one thing is for sure Mumbai might have way more cases than ISL embassy and they are processing cases way more quickly than ISL embassy. Hopefully ISL embassy will start doing same.

Not necessarily but one can never be hundred percent sure. Alot of people I saw on different fb groups got RFE and average DQ was after six months on there for most people
