Last Wednesday I shipped all my documents to my fiance for his interview. I made copies everything before shipping it off. I sent him originals of my boarding passes, birth certificate, receipts of when I was in India visiting last, bank letter, employer letter, pay stubs, w-2's etc.

Well... the box is now officially lost! I mailed it through the United States Postal Service Global Express Guaranteed (via Fed Ex). The post office knows they accpted the package from me, but has no idea what happened to it. Fed Ex has no account of receiving the package.

Well, I never trusted USPS I sent two boxes by EZmailing services to Delhi they reached within three days, also I kept all the copies just in case some thing happens? about your boarding passes, if you have eticket you can always print the irenary, if not you can call the air lines or an agent to give you some sort of itenary which you can submit and explain to CO as to what happend? W-2's and employer's letter you can get it again.

Another question.

On the Affidavit of Support I-134. I have given my wife the following documents.

1) I-134

2) 2006 Tax Returns

3) W2 of 2006

4) Company Letter stating my title, salary and how long I have been working there.

Do I need anything else?

My wife jsut got her interview date schedule for Feb 25. Two questions.

1) Does she have to submit her paper to the VFS office or can she just take the entire package to the interview? She went to the VFS office and paid the courier fee.

2) I was in India about 10 days ago and we printed out the DS156 application that we filled out online. Does the delhi embassy accept the online version or does it needs to be handwritten?

3) When I was in India, I got the I-134 Notorized by the New Delhi Consulate. It was typed and not handwritten. Would this matter when my wife goes to the embassy?

MY fiance had both handwritten and computer generated, they took the computer generated.. I will tell her to keep the handwritten as backup at the interview...

It's good idea... My fiance has submitted both computer generated and hand written.

Did you submit all the originals too? Is it mandatory to submit the original?

I have just submitted packet 4 yesterday in New Delhi. The only originals that they needed were Birth certificate and PCC rest of them they verified the certified copies, pretty much they took every thing including all the evidence, pictures etc. The guy asked for address and tel to send the visa by corrier!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a tip for New Delhi: DS-156 and DS-230 must be hand written without a barcode, any one who has the pre printed forms they may ask you to change so be prepared.

You get the bar code if you fill-in the form online and then take a print out.

I just submitted the form with the barcode at the Chennai consulate and had no issues.

If someone else prepared the form for you, just fill out that section with their name and get their signature.

Specific to Delhi, they request it to be handwritten when you submit it to VFS.

Then what about the bar code? how do you generate?

Like others have mentioned, put the petitioners address, at the interview they might even ask where she's going to live, it's much safer and don't have to answer futher question regarding your future residence, keeping in mind she's going to be in the US, not in India.

Wow they are giving faster interviews but are falling behind on the paperwork. My fiance is going to the embassy tomorrow to get Packet 4, the interview letter and to confirm the date again.

This is so funny... I went thru the same emotional roller coaster you did. But I have even less time, we submitted packet 3 last Thursday and were told to wait several weeks for aninterviews.. one of our fellow Vjers told my fiance that she got her interview date, so I called NVC directly(Delhi was closed) and they confirmed FEb 21 date.. yikes!!! so I am totally stressed out getting everything together by next week. And I am scared.. I am getting a ticket so I can be there for the interview as well...

I just called DOS today and they told me my interview is on Feb 27, 2008.... Delhi emabssay never sent me any packet four till today and they never answered my emails.

Cool that is good news.. when did your fiance go to the embassy.. How was the visit? My fiance is heading over as we speak... I hope things go well for her...I know parag went last year. and his fiance was given a choice of interview dates to pick from.. so he got lucky,, i hear it is best to go to the embassy,.... any tips your fiance can give us?

Not really any tips but they were polite and accepted every thing and told us to call them back in first week feb for pocket four if not they will mail it. How did it go in your case?

Hello Manish+Manya looks like we are in the same boat with our timelines and few others CJINDIA and RSA at Delhi embassy. I did not wait for the embassy to send me the packet three, as soon as the petition reached Delhi I had my fiancee go there and submit DS-230 no problems even they gave me a clue the interview could be in late Feb and told us to pick up the packet four in the first week of Feb. They have not announced Feb dates on their web site yet, hope we can catch the early dates.

Hey guys, I was thinking of trying to call NVC either tonight or tomorrow.

I was just trying to get a feel for how easy it really is.

From what I've read it seems to be...call the number, hit the right prompts, give EAC number...and then that's it, right?

I'm not sure.

I'm working up the courage to do the very same thing. I'm gonna try in the morning and see what happens. Hopefully, they won't bite my head off! I've been a really good girl and haven't called anyone at USCIS during this whole process.

I only complained to the ombudsman via email!

i learned this information the hard way:

call the NVC number, hit 1, then 5....the guy will speak in english and tell you to have your NVC case or USCIS receipt number ready, yada yada, and to hold on while he transfers you to an operator...there will be a pause...this is the critical moment..............

if you hear a woman start speaking in spanish, hang up and try a few more times because you are not going to get through (they are sending you back to the automated system)....if your hear a man start speaking in english then youre in...he will apologize for the delay and tell you that your expected wait is 3 minutes...it might be more or less than that, but you WILL get through to someone

also---dont let my timeline fool you, i got my NOA2 just before thanksgiving, so the time between NOA2 and NVC seems a bit longer than it actually was...it only 2 business days!!! it was sent from NVC in another 2 business days!!

I don't know which number you guys are calling but try this # 202-663-1225 and press 1, 0 you will be able to talk to a live(not dead) person within 3 minutes, they are extremely polite but I am not sure how much BS they will give? I never had a trouble talking to them.

It'll be a week on Thursday since our NOA2.

When do you guys think I should try calling NVC to see if they have gotten (and/or sent?) our case?

May be it's time to call? I got my NOA2 on 21st and NVC received on 27th

My petition is at NVC waiting to be dispatched to Delhi this week. Dont't wait for them to send packet-4 try to down load forms from Delhi site and get your DS-230 ASAP and submit it before 15 th so you may get January interview.

can we do that before embassy contact my fiancee. if yes do we have to drop it personally.

Yes! fill it out take it there and submit it, do not have to wait for them.

We got another touch on 11/28/2007 after the approval notice dated 11/20/2007.. We've already received our hard copy on 11/26/2007.. The Touch on 11/27/2007 says...

That means the case has been forwarded to NVC. You can call NVC at 202-663-1225 and ask for a case number.

They must have burned right thru my petition. It was touched for the first time today (well i dont count the first one that we all get) then a few hours later it was approved. Is that normal? Usually I see people getting touched one day, then the next, then the next day an approval. Maybe its all in my head. I was hoping to hear something by Saturday, but this is even better.

Jayson! it happend to me the same thing I got touched first time on 11/21/07 and that evening here came the approval.

I am not sure the date yet? I just spoke to NVC and they gave me NWD number and told me that it take few days to forward it embassy.

December 16 is only a little over two weeks from now and we are concerned that our response might have been misplaced in the mail or otherwise lost by the Vermont Service Center, perhaps simply lost in VSC's own mail room.
