Sorry I am not on the list but here is the message I got today

On February 23, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Any idea how long would be a good time to check? I know they say 180days but is that from the date of the first NOA?

My AOS date is 6/3/08 and just got approved this morning at 10 AM.

I had all my vaccinations done at Apollo hospital in New Delhi prior to interview and the famous sealed envelop was submitted at the embassy counter for K-1 interview. Now the interview letter says I-693 form to submit unless you have submitted in the past. I did not submit it with my AOS and there were no RFE'S, please suggest.

POE entry for my fiance was extremely smooth at EWR, in fact my fiance was asked more questions at New Delhi by Indian immigration officer than US immigration at POE.

My fiance landed at EWR on 20 th March at 4:30 am and proceeded to non immigrant line, the officer at the counter escorted her down stairs to processing center there it was only 10 min of waiting and then her name was called.

She presented her passport, I-94 and famous sealed envelop, the officer at the counter was surprised and asked what is this(envelop)? she replied I am on K-1, his responce Ohh! ok then he opend the envelop stamped I-94 and the passport, no other questions were asked and then she proceeded to customs. Over all it took only 35 min from landing to arrival out side the gate.

Tip: Do not bring any fruits, vegetables or food specially on K-1 the customs officers are asking these questions and may scan your baggage.

I was just told by csc that our case is going thru extensive back ground investigation ...........could take six more months what is that???

Just don't believe what they say! they just wanted to get you off the phone, VSC did the same thing to me call them again and you will have a different answer.

Can anyone pls clarrify DCF rule.

I am Dual citizen of usa and india so

1) do i need to fullfill india's residency criteria?

2) What is the staying period now? some are saying 3 months.

You mean OCI? There is no such thing as dual citizen ship in India, if you acquired US citizen ship your Indian citizen ship is automatically cancelled.

I just got news from my fiance. He had his interview in Mumbai a few hours ago. It was good news!!!! Yay! The visa should be on it's way soon! I don't have all the details, but he said that it was very relaxed and an easy process.

My case left NVC on Jan 4, 2008 and interview was on Feb 27th.

You do not need any formal letter from NVC, the passport office in Delhi knows the procedure for clearenece and it is relatively easy, just take some info from embassy website requiring clearence that should be enough to get you the certificate. My fiance went through this few months back.

My fiance just got K-1 approved from Delhi. Soon I will be posting the experience on the Embassy review.

It is what it is........No time limit....no guarantees.......no explanations..........Oscar is so upset....

Lora my heart goes out to you, just hangin there it is nothing more than AP Oscar did nothing wrong, some times they just pick randomley and they will never give you any info till it is over, usually it takes only about 3-4 weeks. You have come a long way and you deserve it ASAP.

The answer is big NO, the CO do not care for CEO, senator or congress man other than it is an emergency. It is not that difficult for you finace to travel by her self, just give her a little guidence and courage, she can make it as my fiance will be doing the same thing.

VFS asked her to bring the following on the day of interview:

Original Appointment Letter

Passport

K1 Visa Application Fee (Rs 5,240 DD)

VFS Receipt (contains list of docs submitted prior to interview)

Evidence of Relationship (phone logs/e-mails/letters/photos/boarding passes/petitioner's passport copy/receipts etc)

Originals of all documents that you have submitted

Why VFS did not accept the proof of ongoing relationship? I am not sure how it works in Mumbai VFS? but I have submitted all the documents at Delhi VFS including proof of relation ship (tel logs, emails, chats, boarding passes and pictures etc). I read some where on the VJ if the CO does not have enough proof of relationship before the interview, it may adversley effect his decission because most of the documents are reviewed by some one else prior to interview, a lot of decission has been made by the time file gets to CO's desk. I understand some times VFS is very adamant and refuses to take all the evidence which they have done to us but we insisted that they should accept it. You still have a time to submit, insist that they should accept. Good luck for interview.

my fiance met a girl at the medical office and she had her interview today.. seems she got a 221g, they asked her for the receipt of the engagement party.. so now my fiance is stressed out.. delhi is very strict... now we are all stressed...

What was she doing in medical office after rejection? may be she does not have medical reports ready or all other evidence needed for on going relation ship, that could be the reason for 221(g)?
