  1. Hi I logged into to my portfolio on the USCIS website to see if I had any touches on my AOS and found this message:

    Validation Error(s)

You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

    Case Status Retrieval Failed

The status for this Receipt Number is incomplete at this time in this automated system and can not be displayed. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center.

To view the status of a case, please enter the corresponding application receipt number. The 13-character application receipt number can be found on application notices you have received from the USCIS. It begins with three letters such as (EAC, WAC, LIN, or SRC). Dashes ("-") should be omitted when entering a receipt number. However, all other characters, including asterisks ("*"), can be included if listed on your notice as part of the receipt number. See the FAQs for additional information on this system.

Has anyone ever came across this message? And does anyone know what it means?

Maybe they are currently updating the status.

    Your thoughts are welcomed.

    Thanks

  2. I've read about different interviews and most appear to be moderate and not a big deal. Knowing my luck, I'm going to have the interview from hell. Can people who had the worst interview possible tell about their experiences. Does anyone know of anyone who got denied? If there is a thread with such experiences, can someone direct me to it. Thanks.
my fiance got denied in manila. not hard to understand either. from day 1 she told me she was single with no kids. she left k-1 info blank. she was so affraid i was going to dump her for having kids she locked secret away till interview. then at very last step interviewer said who's this guy ? and she said my ex husband.

she has annulment with no custody of kids but YOU cant lie to US GOV. bottom line. k-1 shot to hell and all the waiting. now i have to go back 2 more times to get married and start all over with a k-3. so if your going to leave anything out on your PAPERWORK make sure u write it all down. or else get denied like she did. her im so sorry now does fall a little short but shes the woman i want so im going back in nov to get marriage license.

either im awful understanding or im an idiot. ????? Tim.......... denial date july 9th 2007 manila

You may be screwed. Befoe getting married, I would check with an attorney.

Plus, why be with a woman who lied to you???

i did check with attorney. k-3 should be no problem. not that we have annulment paperwork. as far as im concerned it all could have been fixed at interview but manila is a one way consular. and as far as the lie is concerned. she really feels like ######. why rub it in . we talk everyday and we talked about what happened. i can understand. she's 29. she's worth marrying and i do believe shes has learned a lifetime lesson. better now then never. Tim

This is just my two cents: If she can lie once, she can lie again. Can you really trust someone who will lie about kids!?!?! That is serious s**t. I dunno, but best of luck and God bless!

well this is weird I received a second e-mail from USCIS today

On August 2, 2007, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days

for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact

you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can

When I saw it in my inbox I thought it was my AOS, but alas it wasn't! :(

  4. Congratulations! Just wondering, do they email all applicants who are approved? where do u check your status and how?

I want to know the status of both my EAD and AOS application.... I applied end of May.

    Thank you very much...

You can go to this link https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp and create a customer account. This way if there is a change to your case status you will receive an e-mail. Also you can see when your case has been *touched*.

However, I have seen instances where people's case status was changed or approved but they did not receive an online update.

    Hope this helps.

  5. You file your AOS in your married name, in the instructions it tells you what documents you need to submit with you application...ie, copy of your marriage certificate etc. It does ask for previous names used..just add you maiden name where it asks for it..usually a line under it......dont worry, everything will be fine.

    Maria

Do you have to use your married name? I was under the impression that you have a choice as to what nam you want to use? It wa only at the last minute I decided to apply using my married name.

Where did Maria say you HAVE to use your married name?

Its your choice to keep your maiden name or use your married name. But whichever you decide to use is how you should fill out the forms.

If you want to change it later, I do believe it costs some $$ (as was suggested above) so I'd keep that $$ and submit it the way I wanted it.

Ooops my misinterpretation I guess. Her statement did not reflect having an option of which name to use. The english language can be tricky sometimes :P:P

  8. Hi, when I completed my medical exam before arriving in the US my doctor placed my results in a sealed envelope which I provided to my local immigration officer for my K-1 visa appointment. The Immigration officer then placed my medical in my sealed brown enevelope that I gave to the immigration officers at my POE in Houston, TX.

When completing my I-485 form foy my AOS I enclosed a note saying that my medcail supplement ( I think its I-693) was kept by the immigration officer at the POE.

Has anyone else had a similar experience to mine, i.e not seeing the details of your medical examination done for your K-1 interview.

    Thanks

  9. Hey everyone, I have been redaing some other posts about people waiting more than 90 days to get thier EAD. I thought that it was a pretty simple process to get an interim EAD if the processing is past the 90 days? Am I worng?

The USCIS website says you can make an infopass appoinment and your local field office will provide further instructions. Does anyone have any thoughts?/experiences?

(if I don't get my EAD in 90 days, can't get a US driver's licencse, can't drive anywhere as there are no buses around, then can't get to school eaisly :crying: )
