This is for the NVC document upload. My wife (beneficiary) birth certificate was scanned using a communications center. Although the digital document is clear and everything is visible, it is slightly crooked. 1) Will this cause an RFE? 2) Does the orientation of the document matter? Also, the police certificate was mailed folded and it has a crease in the middle. The crease does not block any information but it is clearly visible in the scanned document. Will this be a problem?

If the petitioner does it (and let's assume the applicant watches during a screen share call), when the application asks "did anyone assist to fill this application"......should we say Yes or No? Also, can the petitioner sign it using the applicant's passport number assuming the applicant watches.

In Sri Lanka, you get the birth certificate from the Registrar General (also confirmed from the State.gov site). The problem is, when you get them, it gives you the option of whether you also want the English translation. Both the Sinhala (official language) and English versions are done by the Registrar General and they both have the ink stamp. The English version has an additional stamp stating it is a translation. Do I only need to upload the English version or should I upload both Sinhala and English version?

One more question, how many years of previous address history does NVC want? I'm asking because the Police Report application is asking me to list all the previous addresses that is required for the Certificate (I think required in terms of NVC).

There is a question on the Sri Lankan Police Certificate application The Clearance Certificate which need to be address: High Commissioner The Honorary Consul The Immigration Office The Director Immigration The Ambassador The Visa Officer The Manager The Consular I think it is asking who they should address in this report (like Dear Sir etc). Which option should I select? My guess is "The Consular"?

I'm still a bit confused. After I fill out the forms, for the NVC to "approve" and send to the embassy, you're saying that it needs the Birth Certificate and Police Certificate uploaded first?

One more question. I haven't opened the NVC application yet. Before I open it and fill out the DS-260, DS-261, and I-864: In terms of documents, do I only need to upload the tax transcripts, W-2s, pay stubs, and employment letter? Is there a need to get my wife's (beneficiary) birth certificate and upload it at this time? I thought it was required for the interview stage only.

My (petitioner) I-130 for CR-1 for my wife (beneficiary) got approved and it is at the NVC stage. I got an email asking me to login and fill out the documents. I apologize in advance in case some of these questions seem very obvious. I have a few questions: 1) Can my wife get the police certificate now? It looks like it's valid for 1 year. 1) How many pay stubs do I need to provide? I think I read here that they only care about "current" income but I saw in some threads, they need at least 3 past tax returns. I will be downloading the tax transcripts from IRS. 2) Do I need an employer letter stating current position? We use an employment management system which has my profile with Job Title and Salary, will that suffice? 3) Can I (petitioner) fill out the DS-261 and DS-260 forms on behalf of the beneficiary (wife)? 4) Have you ever been refused a US Visa, admission to US, or withdrawn application for admission at port of entry? My previous I-129f for my wife (girlfriend then) was denied because of failing to meet the 2 year meeting requirement exception. Should I answer NO to this question? 5) Regarding "Social Security Number" questions, should I just say NO to all of them? There is one "Do you want SSA to issue a SSN and a card?"....I guess I should say NO to that too? 6) Preparer of application: Did anyone assist you in filling out this application? Should I answer YES and enter my details? Should I click the "Sign and Submit application" button or should my wife (beneficiary) do this?

I hope I can add words of encouragement (if Mods feel this is wrong, please remove my post). It's really sad that married people are not able to be joined or delayed with their spouses in some cases in the US. No husband and wife should be separated for such a long time and that it has to depend on income, it's very unfair against humanity.

So how about people returning to work without the vaccine? Is that scientific enough? Yes, spouse is the intending immigrants. The reason my parents are not in good health and they are not able to cope with their daily routines. In our culture, the son would normally take care of his parents.

My wife is in Sri Lanka and the economy there is really bad. There is no petrol, electricity is cut for atleast 3+ hours a day, limited transportation. Everything there has tripled in price. To get fuel, we have to stay in the queues 24/7 for days and it is rationed. I have 2 questions: 1) Once NVC stage is approved, will there be delays in the consular interview due to electricity cuts and petrol rationing? 2) Can we expedite based on the economy conditions?

In one country, a particular brand of vaccine is banned. In another country, that same brand is allowed. For one group of people, vaccine is not required. For another group of people, vaccine is required. The only difference is one is an immigrant and the other is not. Does any of this sound scientific? I'm the petitioner. My father has serious dementia and my mother had a triple bypass last year. They are both old (62+) and it is getting very difficult for them to do basic things. I try to help as much as I can but I'm also tied up with work. I have 2 sisters, one lives in WV where medical facilities are not that great, the other sister has some disorders. Is my application eligible to be expedited? Right now, it's been more than 6 months since I applied and it looks like from the case processing times, it will take another 6 months for them to just look at it. Ridiculous.

Thanks for the replies. I have another question. My NOA1 date (online filed) was 01/11/2022 and USCIS started actively reviewing on 03/05/2022. If it takes 11.5 months according the case processing status page, why is the earliest date I can contact USCIS about the status on 04/23/2022?? Isn't it supposed to be from 01/11/2022?

The case processing times used to have a date on month + year cases they were processing but now it has been changed to number of months. Mine is at the Texas Center and it's estimated 11.5 months. However, before this change I noted that they were processing August, 2021. Mine was filed in January, 2022. How much more do I need to wait? We're trying to start a family...we're both not getting any younger. Does the 11.5 months cover the ENTIRE process OR only the USCIS stage? It is really unfair and unbelievable that this country would keep a man and his wife apart for no absolute reason other than "worthless" (IMO) checks. Look at other countries like Switzerland.

My wife's country is in an economic crisis (Sri Lanka) with dollar shortage. Banks will give only limited amount of dollars. I can still remittance her money which gets converted to the local currency. Is there any fees required from my wife's side that she is required to pay the US embassy in Sri Lanka? Can I pay those from my side in the US?
