have you gotten any updates yet on your case? i'm in the same situation but i applied to Feb 2020. I want to know if it is really going to be between the 21-27 month wait time :(

    I don’t think it takes 21-27 months

    take a look here https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?form=2&visa=3&scenter=2&option=3&sortby=2

these are cases transferred to Vermont and many of them are getting approved in 3-8 months. Perhaps getting transferred to Vermont speeds up things even more.

Planning to file i30 online this week or next. Can anybody please explain me if i30a should also be filed online with i30.?And in the initial stage whether my birth certificate (beneficiary) is required? I have applied for delayed registration of birth certificate. Thank you advance.

You must submit I-130a online, there is a section at the end.

beneficiary’s birth certificate is not needed, only the petitioner’s.

How did you inquire about the transfer? Did you get a transfer notice?

I talked with a live agent on Emma and they told me it’s in Vermont:

Your case is located at the Vermont Service Center. Your case was transferred in order for USCIS to increase the efficiency with which we manage cases.  If USCIS requests additional information on your case or issues a decision on your case, the notice you receive will indicate which USCIS office processed your case.”

I didn’t get any transfer notice I just saw my case updated on August 3rd so I was wondering the reason for that.

Have you thought to find out what documents Canada required for the naturalizaiton?

there could have been a record of your birth filed when you were 8

Good news! I found my birth certificate which was used for naturalization in Canada. It is from a hospital in Afghanistan. I hope this is sufficient and I don’t have to provide a tazkira.

    Thank you

Have you tried getting it at an Afghan consulate? http://afghanconsulatevancouver.org/site/web/birth_certificate "or those, who have not obtained a Tazkira or whose Tazkiras were lost – can submit a written application to obtain a new one."

I called them and they said they provide one with a national identity card but it has some requirements such as having a representative in Afghanistan who will "follow" the case and then eventually go to the capital city and pick it up. It is difficult for me to find a represntative.

The US travel website says that the birth certificate is "Not required for IV purposes, see Comments below" and then states "All Afghan citizens should be able to present a tazkera (national identity document) as proof of their identity and their birth place." What I am trying to figure out is that since they don't require a birth certificate for Afghans and just require a national identity document what would the problem be with me using my Canadian passport (which has birth place) as well as my Canadian citizenship documents.

So I am wondering if this condition applies to me where I have to provide an Afghan national identity card when I only have Canadian documents and haven't visited Afghanistan ever since I came to Canada as a child.

    Thanks for all the help!

But for Afghan births, DOS explicitly says "Not required for IV purposes, see Comments below"

Yes, that's why I am confused because in the comments it says:

    Quote

Comments:  All Afghan citizens should be able to present a tazkera (national identity document) as proof of their identity and their birth place.  Kart tawalod may be considered as supplementary documentation but should not be utilized as primary evidence of date and/or place of birth or identity.  Please refer to the National ID section for information on tazkeras.

So I am not sure if this would apply to me since I don't have that national identity card.

  7. Hi, I was 9 years old when I came to Canada from Afghanistan and then I became a Canadian citizen after a year.

I don't have a birth certificate and reading the following website it says "All Afghan citizens should be able to present a tazkera (national identity document) as proof of their identity and their birth place.".  https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Afghanistan.html

I am just confused if I need a national identity document from Afghanistan or not because I reside in Canada.
