All my original submitted documents got accepted but I received two messages from CEAC roughly 30 days later.

    1. Upload my proof of income. >> I am moving back to the US so I uploaded my new signed job offer with salary and work locations, i also uploaded a new form I-864 as the pay is different.

    2. Said I might need to prepare a Joint sponsor as I don't meet financial requirements. >> I meet this in regards to income as well as assets so I guess this got put here because I was missing income proof?

Anyways i uploaded signed job offer and updated I-864 and submitted on May 14th. I have still yet to hear back from them. :(

    Hoping I hear back soon.

What are the odds…. But actually I got my message saying I was DQed yesterday. About 40 days total.

  3. Hey congratz! I submitted my documents on April 1st and heard back right at the beginning May. So at the moment it seems to be about a 30 review process on the NVC side. Unfortunately for me they did request additional income information which I submitted today.

As far as the interview wait times it is specific to each embassy but i am also in the process for Guangzhou. Good luck.

  4. Hey Nick, I pretty much submitted the same proof for Domicile that you did just also including continued vehicle insurance, US Cell phone bills, current state ID, and 401k (as retirement saving). To my understanding it's each interviewing embassy which will make the final decision on this case with some of them being easy and some of them being quite picky. But to me you seem spot on, I'm waiting for DQ now as well and hope it all goes well.

I heard that petitioner (U.S. citizen fiance) will receive most of letter! It took several weeks to get NOA2 letter? Is it average time? 😰 Thank you for information!

I am the US Petioner but currently not living in the US. If you are in the US it should often take about 1 week but there any many varying factors. But glad to see you got it! I hope for a fast and smooth approval process for you. :)

  6. It seems like your living in South Korea? My NOA1 never made it to my mailbox in China. But I was able to see all of the documents online since that's were I submitted it but also the status checker will give you the latest information. Oddly enough my NOA2 did arrive in my mailbox but it took several weeks. As others had said you will be fine and will be able to track your status regardless if the letters make it to you.

    Hello Guys,

me and my wife works outside US as expatriates my wife is US citizen her annual income is 45,500 usd, if mine added we both earns 88,000 usd annually, I need enlightenment here pls is she qualified to file for me on Spouse Visa or no?

you guys candid and facts opinion will be appreciated.

    Thanks.

When it comes to AOS (affidavit of suport) the income quesiton is reffering to US earned income. If your wife is making this money in USD to her US account AND her income will remain the same from the same source after moving to the US then she can use that. However chances are in most cases her job will not continue with her to the US. Your most likely options are 1. Use assests (this needs to be US based assets that are 3x the poverty guideline limits) or 2. Use a joint sponspor which meets the cirtieria and can sign for you guys.

Since interviews only recently started I think it's hard to get an estimate of when you'll get an interview.

Guangzhou used to be pretty quick. When we did the CR2 process for my stepdaughter pre-Covid, we got our interview appointment 2 weeks after DQ. The appointment was 3 weeks after we got the interview notice. However, there is a backlog of several months when interviews were totally suspended. I know they've re-started them, but probably additional petitions have been approved since then as well. I know they are prioritizing immediate relatives so that complicates the predictions as well. And if NVC takes 3 months to DQ you, who knows what the situation will look like in July.

If I were in your case and making plans, I'd probably assume 9-12 months until visa in hand. And that assumes no problems with NVC, no length administrative processing, etc...  best of luck to you!

Thanks for your thoughts Ramon! It's realy difficult to find up to date information in China regarding CR/IR1.

    Much Apprecated!

  9. Hey All,

I have just submitted my documents into the NVC on April 2nd and expecting this to take 2-3 months if there arent any issues. As I live and work in China currently proving US based income and proof of US domicile is not strait forward. Im using all US based assets which are clearly over 3 times the povety limit (but not all of it has been in the US for 12 months) and for US domicile included my CA vehcile registration, car insurance, US cell phone bill, credit cards, Jet Ski registarion all of those being current. Praying there is no delay here.

What im curious about is how long have people recently been waiting between their DQ at NVC and reciving an interview at Guangzhou? On this site I'm only seeing information on interviews for K-1 but not really seeing too much for CR/IR-1. I would love to assume since COVID-19 hasnt been really been an issue in China for nearly a year now that the delays would be minimal but I know thats probably a really niave thought.

    Thanks in advance!

Dear all, I managed to talk to the officer in person today at the embassy, she understands my situation and allows me to reschedule my interview at the later date. Since I already did my medical, I will have to wait until the current one expires (6 months) before I can do another one. She said if I sat for the interview today, my visa will be approved unless they could find a reason not to, and I’ll have to leave in 6 months. Visas cannot be extended for any reason. So I’m grateful I am given this option to reschedule my appointment, that way my family can all move together. Fingers crossed it will all go smooth as planned at the end. Thank you so much for your help!

Thanks for giving us an update. I think alot of us are in the same situation. For me the I130 process went WAY faster then I thoguth at only around 100 days. Right now I am delaying at the NVC stage as we dont plan to move any sooner then the half point of next year.

  11. Once you sign into you Online My USCIS account click on "Documents". Open the document called "Recipt Notice". At the bottom of this paper it will have the service center that is going to be procesing your application. Now it is possible it changes but in most cases it should stay the same.

From there you can use either this website or the other government websites to determine what your estimate is.

    Good luck.

  12. Wow. What a back and forth mess this has been. If your interview or travel date is soon i would be weary of anything until the USCIS issues and official update on their end. As of now there guidance still states that as of September 11th the Public Charge check was reinstated for all pettions submitted/postmarked after February 24, 20202. However this public charge rule put aside i would highly recommend she picks up some type of immigration insurance as you never know when you need it or how long it may take to get her own in the US just incase anything happens.

  13. Hey Congrats!

Your questions is a little confusing. the NVC does not approve the i-130 form, this is approved by USCIS. Once your i-130 is approved the USCIS will later send you information to log into the NVC online portal.

Once you have your NVC login information you must pay the AOS (Affidavit of support) and IV Bills. Once this payment is approved which can take several days you can then submit the AOS and IV documents into the online NVC portal.

    Update:

So I got my NVC case number on Halloween day, a lot sooner than I expected, and I still want to slow things down somewhat.

In the welcome email, it said (underlined emphasis is mine😞

"IMPORTANT: If you do not log into CEAC or communicate with NVC regarding this immigrant visa case for a period of one year, by law the Department of State must terminate your visa application."

So it seems that all I have to do is log into CEAC once in a while to reset the clock?

Seems really easy, but a bit risky. Probably the safer thing to do is call or email the NVC and keep a paper trail of those communications, would you agree?

I'm thinking my strategy would be to:

    - Wait 8-10 months to call/email NVC and confirm that I get another year to pay and submit my docs

    - Wait another 8-10 months to pay the fees

    - After paying the fees, start a slow drip of documents, uploading one at a time, over another 4-6 months, then submit everything for DQ

That makes 20-24 months total, and by the time we get the visa, it'll be end of 2022 or early 2023 when we're cleared to go to the U.S.

Is this a good plan? Or am I risking my case by not submitting the AOS and IV applications before Halloween 2021?

Hey Bill, I have the same situation as you. Things were approved a little to quickly then I had origianlly anticpated and also received my NVC information on Octover 31st. What I would do in your case is wait until the 10th month and then pay the AOS fee which will reset your clock as you have hard evidence of progress. Then if your still not ready in another 10 months then pay they next fee which is the IV fee. If you need to do it again after another 10 months upload your AOS docuemts. Of course you can always log in but doing any of these things will at least show progress and activity.

  15. As some users were expereincing dowtime in the my.USCIS.gov tracker it appears they have finished an update as now it looks different then it used to.

After checking two days ago it showed my most recent date of October 19th indicating when my case was last touched and October 17th just a few days before that. Now it's back to its original  NOA1 date. I wonder if the days of knowing when your case has been tocuhed are over?
