Cairo, Egypt (Split)
ArwaE replied to AI.Wonderz's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Hello, I filled out a pdf form of the i-130 and since you are applying for your spouse you need to provide marriage certificate (in english), her birth certificate (in english) and other documents which you can find on the internet. I applied for my father so I only needed to provide my birth certificate. You then contact the us embassy in cairo. You need to go through the navigator and it will tell you the email and specific subject line to write. They will ask you for proof of entry of egypt for you and your wife. Your wife has to have been in egypt through a visa (which costs around $2,500) I tried to go through the navigator to give you the link but it appears there's a problem with it. If that doesn't work, you will have to go through the online process which will take over 2 years. You can apply the i-130 for $625 and then when it is approved about $445 for the NVC portion of the process. Let me know if you have any other questions, I will be happy to help -
DCF in Cairo, Egypt
ArwaE replied to ArwaE's topic in Direct Consular Filing (DCF) General Discussion
Hi everyone! This is an update. I went to Cairo in March earlier this year. They scheduled us an interview in May and they approved my petition on the spot. They scheduled my father's appointment for August and he has been approved!!! His got his passport last week and now he is on his way here! Thanks to everyone who replied to my questions. PS My mother also had her interview (at a different post) and was also approved! They received their passports on the same day lol. So they will be arriving here together. I'm so happy that 2 years of stress is finally over! -

Just to make sure I understand…she can not add them at nvc stage? They haven’t paid any fees for husband yet because money is tight and it’s going to be a year in about 6 months. Realistically, will USCIS accept expedite since they are children?
-
Ok asking for a friend… Friend lives abroad. She applied for her husband right after they got married and while waiting for the approval (which took almost 2 years because they filled something out wrong and they had to submit another application for USCIS to transfer the case to NVC) they were blessed with 2 kids and now expecting a third. She has never lived in the US to be able to apply for a CBA for the kiddos. So is it possible to add them to the case at the NVC stage? If so, what are the steps to do so? What are the documents needed for the kids besides the birth certificates and passports? Any info will be extremely helpful. They don’t want to leave their kids behind.

Hello all, My mother has been DQ'd by NVC today Jan 14, 2025 and her interview location is Riyadh in Saudi. Does anyone know how long it will take to set up a date and how far away the date will be? She is currently in Sudan and we want a rough estimate so we can get her visa for Saudi going and have her get a new police certificate because the ones from Sudan expire after 3 months and I read that they can ask for it. If anyone has any info please let me know. TIA

August 2023 | I-130 Filers
ArwaE replied to cinja144's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
I went to the website of one of the senators of my state and went to help with federal agencies and then help with immigration I filled out a form and then one of the staff will contact you… Or you can find their number, call and leave a message saying you need help with USCIS and leave your number and email and they will contact you This is how my senator’s office did things: They sent you a privacy form to complete basically giving them permission to talk to USCIS on your behalf. You fill out info like receipt number and names and stuff and then you write a message with what they can do to help. You can say it has been over 15 months and the case has still not been processed or something along those lines. Print, sign, scan, and email back. Then they will let you know when USCIS replies to them. -

I went through my Senator’s office when we hit the 14.5 month mark and literally the next day was approved for my mother’s case. Did not need to spend a single penny. Not everyone has the ability to pay for a lawyer, so they should know about the other options for help available that don’t require any or a lot of money ☺️ -

If you are still waiting try contacting the senator's office and tell them it's past the processing time and you would like them to contact USCIS for you -

ArwaE replied to cinja144's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Guys I hope you can help me or guide me where I can ask for help. Now my mother's case is at NVC and we just completed the DS-260 form. And because she lived in Canada and Saudia Arabia 30 years ago, they now want police certificates from those countries. Does anyone know if I can get them online or do I have to be physically in those countries to apply? Should I just choose the "Not Available" option in ceac? Will that cause issues? Please help! -

I'm having problems getting ceac to open at all! I put in the case number and it brings an error page. I'm using chrome. Should I use safari or something? -

DCF in Cairo, Egypt
ArwaE replied to ArwaE's topic in Direct Consular Filing (DCF) General Discussion
The U.S. Embassy in Cairo is currently able to accept certain emergency filings of immigrant visa I-130/I-600 petitions for immediate relatives of U.S. citizens who are normally resident in the consular districts of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Beirut and have not yet filed an immigrant visa petition with USCIS What I understood from this is it is for US Citizens with relatives living in the areas mentioned. OnlyU.S. citizens physically present in Cairo may file at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo for their qualifying spouses, unmarried children under 21, adopted children, and parents who have fled these consular districts. As for this, it is not mentioned that I must be living in Cairo, only physically present. Please let me know if my understanding is wrong. -

There is currently no embassy in Khartoum due to the war going on in Sudan, which is why they have the emergency filing for Sudanese relatives of US citizens. I tried to an expedite for my mother but they had refused even though it was for humanitarian reasons. So we waited the 14.5 months. I would like to try this for my father since I am the only child they have and I would like them to be away from the war zone. -

Yes they say physically present but don’t define that we must live there or have a job there. I am planning to go and bring my father to Egypt as well to do this. I sent an email and they asked for my birth certificate and now asked to provide the entry stamp to Egypt so they can schedule the appointment. I’m trying to prepare the paperwork needed and know more info about DCF works since I only did my spouse and my mother online. -

My mother was not an emergency filing. That was not an option at the time. So it took 14.5 months. Currently we can file 2023 taxes since 2024 cannot be filed yet. I am a US citizen born in the US. So I need to bring my joint sponsors documents as well? Will I need to fill out the affidavit of support as well? -

No I’m currently in the US. My father is in Sudan. We will both come to Egypt to do this process and my father will stay there until he gets his visa. I am a US Citizen if that helps -
Hey guys, I just want to know more about DCF in general. How does it work and how long does it take from filing to visa issuance? I currently have the opportunity to do an emergency filing for i-130 for my father in Cairo and I want to know what documents do I need. The only thing they stated was a birth certificate and passports. I want to know what happens after the i-130 approval. What paperwork do I need then? I want to take everything so he will have it with him when he has his second interview. Any help/advice is appreciated. Thanks
