Having paid the fee, I would let it go to completion, come to US, trigger the GC and go back. Just make sure she doesn't stay out long to void GC residency.

Alternatively, she can come, trigger GC, apply for AP and have it delivered at her home country. I believe there's an option for that.

I wouldn't let time and money go down the drain.

I thought you supposed to stay in the US for 6 months to be able to keep your GC? She will not be able to stay this long due to aforementioned circumstances

You stated that the case is under review by USCIS.  After approval, it is then sent to NVC........automatically...  At NVC, you must submit more documents and pay more fees.  You can delay it there....or you can contact USCIS to wothdraw.

Sorry this is my first time doing it so I’m not fully familiar with the process.
so, if I decided to “delay” and not send the documents in, wouldn’t they just drop my case? Also how long can you delay it for? I’m not sure she will be able to come in the near future and as far as I understand you have to reside here for 6 months in order to keep your permanent residency

It is at a service center.  Contact USCIS via "ask Emma" to inquire where it is.

    Why not option #1?

I’m not sure I fully understand option 1. I have applied online through the portal and paid all the fees already. Also wouldn’t they just drop the case if you are stalling it like that?
I just don’t want it to go any further since my moms situation seems to be semi-permanent at the moment.

    You have a couple options:

    1.  Allow the petition to reach NVC, then delay submitting document and paying fees.  You could keep the case there at NVC  by contacting them at least once a year.

    2.  Email and/or send a letter to USCIS and withdraw.  There is no penalty.

Thank you for your response! Where do I send the letter? Since the case hasn’t been assigned to a processing facility.

  5. Good morning everyone. I’ve searched this forum for awhile but couldn’t find the answer to my question.
I’ve submitted an I 130 petition for my mother in November 2021 after becoming a citizen. At the time, she was planning on immigrating to the States.
    But her situation has changed.
    1. My grandmother broke her hip and is unable to move so my mom has to provide constant care

    2. My sister had a baby and she is a single mother

The status of my petition is Case is being reviewed by the USCIS as of March 2022.
my question is, how do I withdraw the application? I’ve seen on the internet that you need to send a letter to USCIS explaining your withdrawal.
also will we get penalized and will the withdrawal affect any future applications?
    Thank you!

Anyone from Atlanta field office got an interview recently?

Hey there! So my I-751 status changed on March 10th and it says that it's ready to be scheduled for the interview (I filed on April 25th 2020). Now I also have N-400 pending as of April 25th 2021. Initially I was SRC and then it said that my case was transferred to another office but didn't say which one and when I called the agent said that it was still at the Texas Center, which shows processing times 4- 10.5 months now (so mine's been processing over a year). I saw someone's interview being scheduled after a month their status changed. I'm worried that now that I have N-400 submitted they might just try to do a combo interview (which I would much rather do) but then it will get pushed back again? My status extension expires in December and my International Passport expires then as well so I have to renew that ASAP but cuz of Covid it's nearly impossible to schedule an appointment at the Russian consulate these days so I am super worried that my extension will expire while my passport is being renewed so I won't be able to get another extension stamp and renew my DL.

  7. Hey Guys,

How come everyone is getting different responses?

I was gonna call the USCIS again today but then I finally received the answer to my inquiry request that I submitted on June 1.

I have emailed the lockbox every day starting June 1st. So it's been 10 emails and no answer.

But then i received this email from USCIS Case Status:

'The status of this service request is:

You recently called to inform us that you have not received the receipt notice. A request has been made for a courtesy copy of the receipt notice to be mailed to you. You should receive the notice within 30 days.

I noticed that some of you got different responses and no one had "you will receive yours within 30 days". well it's at least something and fingers crossed that i'll receive it soon, but still this is so frustrating!

    Here is my timeline:

Sent documents to USCIS April 25

Case received May 1st, receipt number assigned (The online case status shows it was received on the 28th), card charged the same day

    No NOA

Called on 29th of May, was told to email the lockbox. The rep didn't even tell me to submit the online inquiry.

June 1st- Submitted injury, it said they would reply by June 23rd, sent email to lockbox

Sent emails to lockbox for 10 days straight- no answer

June 10th- received an email about my injury stating the above.

  8. Hello Everyone,

I've been using this website for some time but finally decided to register.

I have mailed my ROC on the 25th of April, received an SMS that it was accepted on May 1st, credit card charged, but no NOA. I called the USCIS on June 1st and they told me to email the lockbox, I have also submitted an online request but it said that they would get back to me before June 23rd.

I've been emailing lockbox all week literally every day and haven't gotten anything.

As many of you said before we all need our NOA to get the DL renewed and for work purposes.

Judging from my previous experience, the DMV in Georgia wouldn't listen at all if you try to renew it before your GC expires (why did they put your GC expiration date as your DL expiration date then?). When I was doing AOS, my Work Authorization Permit came in 3 months after my OPT expired and I was out of work for 3 months. I can't afford this happening this time and I'm getting really worried. My GC expires on the 24th of July so I still have a bit of time left but frankly I'm losing my mind.
Should I keep emailing the lockbox and call the USCIS again?

    Thanks Y'all!
