Just got off from NVC operator asking for the interview date if it has been assigned to our case yet.. The lady replied.. Yes it has.... I was like.. woow... which one. She said " August 27th, 2008 at 7:30am"

I am so much happy.. Called my husband and told him first.. He is also so much happy..

Thank You to all VJ members and visitors for all your support and well wishes.. I am sure i will need all that until my husband receives the visa on hand..

congrats Bani...so based on your timeline I see Mumbai consulate received your case on July 14th..and almost 1.5 month later is the interview date. Does it take usually that long?

I'm in big dilemma right now as my wifes PCC is taking long time from passport office so hoping her interview is done before November 15th that way it'll be before 6 months of her passport issuance. Do you think I shud also get PCC from local police station as well just in case? Getting a PCC from Mumbai is a hassle...

hi there folks. im just wondering for my husband interview. what documents that he needs to bring to his interview? do we have to present the copy of I-864? ds230?for ir1 what is the list thank you in advance. we paid debros today for documents verification. ty.

Having an extra copy of each document is a good idea and does not hurt.

alright here's the question, I mailed my Choice of agent form and paid the Affidavit of support fee, the NVC has generated Visa fee bill on auguest 12th, i'm yet to recieve it... I tried calling NVC but the "operators" are busy helping other members, what should I do? I also see that some of the fees are paid online by some members, how do i do that?

hi all...one of my friend's got approved 8/21 she wants to know what form to use for AOS...she is currently unemployed and her dad claimed her depandent on his last year's tax return. she will be using him for co-sponsor so what forms she needs to fill out? i864 for her n i864 for mom/dad?

Since throughput is determined not by the last date they are working on but the number of petitions processed over a given period of time, you can't judge throughput based on the only data we are given.

Load-leveling from the start makes sense but only if they are also factoring in time-slicing -- how much time is given to a specific petition class. So if Vermont is devoting only 10% of its time to IR1/CR1s and California is devoting 50% of its time to them, splitting the load 50/50 isn't going to provide the numbers everyone would prefer to see.

More to the point, because CSC is getting leftovers from Vermont does not mean that their throughput will slow. It just means that it will take them longer to get through the stack.

All I am going to say that this situation with VSC is disgusting and I am happy for the people who getting out of that blackhole as they say. This did also caused another thing which is 0 K3 and I130 approvals so far this week for CSC filers. I hope they dont ignore our cases forever.

I am happy that old VSC cases are being transfered to CSC. People waiting too long are finally getting their due.

I called USCIS and they told me to call in 12 days because I am only 19 days outside of my processing times!!!!!!!!!!!! its been a freakin year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope before 12 days new processing time will be posted and Vermont will move from Sept to another month.

Nimche your visa journey is an example. A few more months and you will be thru. Good luck for approval.

I got married in Agusut 2007. Sent my I-130 in August and still havent been approved, touched or anything. I didnt file the 129f, I dont have ann attorney and i have no clue what to do??? I have contacted USCIS so many times and they just tell me Im still in my normal processing times but the vermont website says they are already working on the september files. I know of people who sent theres in august and have been approved long long ago and touched etc etc. Please help. What should I do? Should I hire an attorney or I dont know Im clueless right now .

VSC is throwing all their responsibilities and their nepotism to CSC. Lot of cases are being transfered to CSC. Lets analyse the trend for a month and see what happens to the processing time for CSC and VSC.

Why USCIS does not distribute the load equally to CSC and VSC to start with and then monitor their respective performances and award or punshment accordingly.

May be they can hire me for management consulting...I will not charge them a damn dime. Value added management...

Lets watch for some times and see how the curves for VSC and CSC converge or diverge. That will draw the distingtion between the two.

I don’t know a lot of details …yet she did say the interviewer asked some basic question like

Where did your husband work??

How did he go to U.S??

What do you do?

She asked to see the invitation card from both parties and said the visa will arrive in a week …I will post the details when she gets home

Now question for loto …how long does it take for the visa to get to cochin VFS ?? … interview was on Friday would it be there by Wednesday ??

Sibtain, I thing you can go for CR1. Call the US embassy in Islamabad or shoot them an email. The CO has the authority to change a IR-1 to CR-1 that is my understanding.

I am asking this question on behalf of my cousin brother... My sister-in-law is having her CR-1 interview on Sep 18. She is currently working at a bank. Is she required to have Non-objection certificate from her place of employment at the time of interview ?? If yes, than what would be the format and what should it say on the certificate ?? Please advise... I am not totally sure on this ?? Did anybody had this suitation before or like to give their greatly advice to my cousin brother... Please and Thank You..

US consulate does not require NOC.

You do not need an employment letter. You need copy of last three years of tax return. You can include W-2 and/or 1099.

Is it a requirement to enclose evidence of bona fides of the marriage with the DS-230? If this evidence is not included, would it result in an RFE, or does NVC consider this to be the Consulate's territory?

No proof is required with DS-230. It is an application for immigrant visa and permanent residency.

Thanks guys. I guess i am excited because i no longer see 2/24/2008 anymore. That alone is worth all the touching possible. To feel like they are actually doing something. Did you call USCIS to find our the status of your case. You are out of their processing dates.

I dnt know this is the right place to ask or not. My husband is from India and he is adjusting from B1/B2 based on marriage with me.

Now just wanted to know if someone can help in the following queries :

a) Renewal of Indian passport has to be applied before how many months of his passport expiery ??

B) This may sound odd .........In the passport renewal form as I saw one has to state his/her marital status and name of spouse.Now we were wondering if we can say that he is single ?? There are some personal family reasons that we dont want my name on his passport. Is this possible ........

You will have to apply for him for Adjustment of Status.

Indian passports can be renewed 6 month before expiration date.

He will have to state his current marital status.

I do not think that he has to change anything on current Indian passport for Adjustment of Status.

After all the people working at VSC and CSC are humans like us. I think in all government agency there is low efficiency but then they do not employ top graduates...that is the root problem.
