Avoid the weekend if you can, border is busy with canucks coming to spend their $$$$ at the outlets!
-
I was just asking Ciela if she would be able to get to the office to get in their face but she says she's not sure on public transport that goes there...any one have any ideas on that, it's near the port apparently? (My suggestion to get a cab didn't go down well)

....632-3392761, it's saying out of service.
Embassy says they are waiting delbros, delbros text status says waiting for embassy, I'll be so glad when this shite is over with!
Cheers!
yup that's weird. in my case, i cant connect to that number when i use the landline. but i can easily contact it when i use the cellphone. i dont really know why but you might want to take a try.
by the way, what embassy number did you call to be able to confirm the doc verification?
My fiance was using her cellphone, weid!
Used this embassy number posted in shape's april may june thread, called from us around 7.30am manila time, spoke with grace (it had been busy non stop trying in pm the day before...
"So I took the number from the USEM web page 011-632-301-2000 and ext.5185 from the old post.
worked perfect. Grace answered the phone and was so kind and helpful!"

That's the only DELRBOS number I have. I wonder if Loterly's thread about DV is still active. I think there was another DELBROS number posted there.
Looks like those have been removed, they show in her profile but link doesn't work!

It's BS. We paid for Document Verification back in March and they still didn't verify the docs when my fiancee had her interview last week. My fiancee even called Delbros to confirm they'd received her text, but they obviously didn't do anything. Thank you DELBROS for not doing your job and placing us under AR Document Verification. Delbros does a horrible job!
Ditto !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm trying to work it out from various threads on this forum but i still don't get this slip thing. From what my fiance told me after her interview every one was informed they still had to do document checks. Can some one explain what the white and pink signify?
-
check this site out; www.asaptickets.com. good prices. i would say between $ 900.00 and $ 1500.00. Good Luck. Safe trip. God best.
Watch out for them, you can't actually book from what they suggest as price they just tell you to call. I tried to use them last year and they had me on a flight I pulled up on the airlines web site for $100 less while talking to them.
-
Hi regholdsworth,
I, too, will travel MNL-SEATTLE! When are you booked? ANd which airline? Where in Seattle will you be settling in? We will be in Kent, which is half an hour away from SEATTLE
My son and I are still waiting for our visas thats why I cant book yet. But hopefully get some good news next week.
Ingat,
Mosh
Hey Mosh,
I'm the half in Seattle. My fiance and daughter are the ones coming, I booked NorthWest but I had better prices with Eva and China Airlines which are also nicer airlines. Problem is they would not allow me to buy a ticket for a third party on their web site as the credit card used has to be shown when checking in. They also said if I went to their office they wouldn't be able to give me the web price and I should use a travel agent. The travel agent I called said same and wouldn't do third party tickets either. To say I was annoyed would be an understatement so ended up with crappy North West who would take any deal!
Here's the flights.
Friday, June 27
Flight: Northwest Airlines #2
Depart: Manila International Airport, Philippines (MNL) Fri. June. 27 7:45 AM
Arrive: Tokyo Narita, Japan (NRT) Fri. June. 27 1:10 PM
Flight: Northwest Airlines #8
Depart: Tokyo Narita, Japan (NRT) Fri. June. 27 3:55 PM
Arrive: Seattle/Tacoma Intl, WA (SEA) Fri. June. 27 8:55 AM
I live really close to downtown near Capital Hill (which is the gay neighborhood so has great restaurants and cool bars). I'm in the middle of fixing up the house so will welcome some help from my fiance!!!!
Kent is okay, I have friends from there and go down quite regulary, it's a GOOD 30 minutes from Seattle, there is always a lot of traffic because there is a big mall between the two...but that makes shopping easy for you
Good luck and if you need any help pm me.

Manila to Seattle 27th June, $817, booked May 8. Damn embassy better hurry up with that visa now
-
Wish i'd seen this thread before but I've been parked in K1 forum, didn't know this one existed.
Can you add us, interview June 10 approved waiting.
It was only last night after talking with my fiance that she said they still had to do document checks which is what we'd been expecting. So what is going on looking at dates above some visas still come through in a timely fashion (the 7-10 days is that from approval date, it's not very clear) and some take a lot longer. So is there some sort of delay issue.
We have flights booked but I knew when i booked we were maybe being ambitious but figured cheaper to change dates than to book a last minute one.
Can we call Delbros and get any info, again what I'm reading here doesn't seem to be clear if they actually tell you anything?
Sorry for my stunted questions as i'm not sure exactly what i should be asking just trying to figure out the timing of when we can finally get that damn visa in hand...like every one else!!!

Hey guys!
I have an add on question to this (and I did try to find the info already!)
I have a lump sum (The marvelous SSIA for you irish hanging around) that I want to transfer.
If I transfer it now, into my Fiance's account, will he be taxed as it is above the annual tax free gift limit.
If I transfer it later, into my own account, will I be taxed again? Its all clean money and I've paid tax on it here in Ireland
Thanks for replies or points in the right direction!
HSBC offshore also does Euro accounts so that may be an otpion, see link above. You can exchange some or all in as Dollars now to gain access but you will basically have it available to do what you want with before or after you move.
And no i don't work for bank but i use this account and it has been very useful
-
You could open an HSBC offshore account. They allow joint US$ and Sterling accounts so transfer as much as you want and it's easy to do all the transfers to/from UK/US banks. They give you debit cards for either currency too.

Also the transferring $10K limit for reporting to IRS is old info, pretty much all size of transfers are monitored as Elliot Spitzer can testify to!

Hi
Please advise on the following:
For DS -156,
1. Q25:Name and Telephone Numbers of Person in U.S. Who You Will Be Staying With
or Visiting for Tourism or Business
what should i write..I dont know anyone in US other than my finace, should i write his details?
2. For Q24. At What Address Will You Stay in The U.S.?
My fiance is staying with his friends as of now.We ar enot sure of the place where we will stay, will find it once i get the visa. What should i write here?
3.For Q22,When Do You Intend To Arrive In The U.S.?
should i just write "when visa is granted"
4.Q36,36. Has Anyone Ever Filed an Immigrant Visa Petition on Your Behalf?
Should i write my finace's details over here?
Thanks
1) Yes
2) Put his current address... It is the best information that you have today....
3) Yes
4) Your fiance filed a non-immigrant visa petition not a immigrant visa petition.
Regarding question 22 on DS156, my fiancee just asked me this morning, the sample form on here is old, the current looks like it is very specific you put a date in? This is how it looks now...
It seems like they want a date?
-
Well you are at about the same number of days we were so fingers crossed you'll get it very soon...trust me I know how frustrating it is seeing others approved...good luck!
-
HE SAID THAT THE AUTOMATED TELEPHONE RESPONSE SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK FOR K-1 VISA'S--------SO BE AWARE OF THAT!!!!!!
Glad you posted that, i was thinking of asking the question on here as it keeps saying my number isn't in the system...and of course never could get to speak with any one, just threw me back in the queue!
Hopefully the package went last week as the letter advised!
-
Cheers for that, much appreciated!

back to the top...any one?

Funny i was having this very discussion with my fiancee this morning. One thing I was curious about is papers regarding her daughter regarding having permission for her to leave the country. She said that she is okay in the PI as she never put the fathers name on the birth certificate and he has pretty much had nothing to do with the child.
However I was wondering if the US will require any sort of paperwork that the child is traveling with the approval of both parents? Obviously hoping lack of name on birth certificate applies here too?

No probably more of a problem you being a sweaty sock...but i would say that being a naturalised englishman
See you are in Pittsburgh, spent my first 7 years in the country there, love the place, you'll enjoy it...take it you've found Piper's pub, I love their scotch eggs!
Good luck fella!

If you have registered on the USCIS web site for the case status you can change your address online, that's what i did, you need lots of details from your application to put in. They then sent a letter confirming they had done it.
Here's where you register...

My fiancee had two tourist visa denials, crazy being that her mother and sister live here in the States, but we just got our noa2 approval...it took a while in coming but I'm sure that wasn't because of the previous denials...more the CSC ineptness
-
right now i am wating for my noa2. whiching is taking forever by the way, lol.
wish i could get my noa2 this month. i got my noa1 on 2-12-08.
You seem to have a strange concept of time, be patient it will come and just feel very lucky you're not going through California
