  1. Hello!

We called California Service Center and found out, our I-130 has been approved, but they will send out an RFE for our 129F. The lady on the phone couldn’t tell us, what kind of additional evidence they need, we have to wait until we received a mail letter.

We also didn’t receive any mail regarding our I-130 approval and the status is still pending (so we don´t know - is it really approved?).

We asked if they would forward the approved I-130 to NVC. She said – NO – they will wait until I-129F will be approved.

I read on this board, that in cases, where I-130 is approved before the I-129F, they will forward the I-130 to the NVC.

    Can anyone clarify please? :help:

    Thank you!

  2. I'm doing CR1 for my husband and we filed early march and have yet to hear anything. i've called twice via the RFE trick but to no avail. This waiting is so fustrating.

Thank you for your feedback Peach Waterfalls, I know, what you are going through... we have nearly the same timeline... We tried also the RFE-trick, two times... - nothing! We called the NVC... - also nothing...

    Good luck to you! (F)

  3. What is the additional cost of applying for the K3 also? Right now it is only $180.00? This is not much to pay to have an option to get you spouse here sooner if it works out?

We don't have a problem with paying $180 more, but it would be nice, if it would help! The problem is, if they approve your I-130 before your I-129F (which actually is the norm), they are stopping working on your I-129F and you have to go the CR1-way.

  4. Hi everybody its been 168 days since NOA1 CSC and i got a touch for the first time since feb 2. I dont know what this means.

Have you tried to call USCIS or NVC???

NVC has automated response system 24h/day (1 603 334 0700). All what you need, is your Receipt Number from your Service Center.

    Maybe you are already approved...

  5. You can easily check this information yourself by doing clicking on Immigration Timelines then clicking on Timeline Search. Many people are too lazy to post, so the Timeline Search will probably give you more accurate results and the data is already available.

Thanks... I found it, but I think, something is wrong with this data base. I searched for CR1/IR1 Visas, CSC only, with I-130 NOA1 between 03/01/2007 and 03/31/2007. I found 21 records. From this 21 records, three filed also for K3 - why are those people in this data base?

Ok, now I'm watching at the "Statistics for searched results":

    Total records: 21

    Pending: 21

Num with 1st NOA received: 3 (????) - I think, this are my three K3 records

    Num with 1st and 2nd NOA received: 0 (????)

    :help:

  6. hmmm when i look around now i see people who only file the I-130 get an approval at a much faster rate then those who file both the I-130 and I-129.

I have been waiting for over 4 months for an approval... and this point it seems that my I-129 will take the same amount of time to process as my sole I-130 would have taken. Am i correct?

seriously, this K-3 visa thing needs to be scrapped since its not doing what it was intended for.

That's what I'm thinking too. I just started a new topic at the CR1/IR1 section to find out, how many of the february and march ONLY I-130 filers, did not get the approval notice yet.

  7. In addition to above:

What are My Responsibilities as a Sponsor?

When you sign the Affidavit of Support, you accept legal responsibility for financially supporting the sponsored immigrant(s) until they become U.S. citizens or can be credited with 40 quarters of work. Any joint sponsors or household members whose income is used to meet the minimum income requirements are also legally responsible for financially supporting the sponsored immigrant. If the immigrant receives any "means-tested public benefits," you are responsible for repaying the cost of those benefits to the agency that provided them. If you do not repay the debt, the agency can sue you in court to get the money owed. When in doubt, ask the benefit provider whether the benefit is a "means-tested public benefit."
