My wife's mother passed away when my wife was 12 years old. Her grandmother (mother's mother) took legal custody of her. When my wife becomes a US Citizen, is there any chance that she can petition for her grandmother who was legally her parent?

Has anyone else received an interview date yet or any notice beyond biometrics? I noticed something odd in the two tabs for our 485 progress. There are two different dates noted as "response received". Anyone know why this is or what this means?

No she does not have an EAD. We did not apply for one either.

Would you guys know if my situation qualifies for ineligibility? My spouse applied for the SSN along with the I485 and my understanding is that we have to wait a year or more for this before we can receive the green card + SSN so are we ineligible at the moment?

I'm actually looking to apply for just a regular ID for my spouse, not even a DL but because we don't have the SSN, we don't meet the points of proof requirements. I was hoping to hear from someone who was able to get an ID without a SSN.

I mistakenly thought the standard procedure to file for an SSN was to do so with the I485. Only afterwards, I realized it must be done two weeks after arrival and two weeks before the 90 days are up. Without the SSN which it seems like will not be available until we receive the green card, my spouse does not have enough points to qualify for an ID under the DMV rules. It seems like if you don't have the SSN, you also wouldn't be able to obtain other pieces of proof that the DMV accepts so I'm wondering if anyone has had luck finding a way around this?

My wife and I was not aware we could file for a SSN prior to her AOS and in New York State where we are located, it does not appear we have enough local documents to meet their proof to obtain an ID. Is it sufficient to have her foreign ID, a digital copy of her AOS NOA1 and a digital copy of her passport in case a police officer or ICE asks for identification?
