  1. If K-2 is coming to USA with K-1, the K-2 will be issued same time as K-1.

If K-2 is follow to join, then the K-2 interviews separately at a later date. A parent is needed at interview if K-2 is under age 14

You do pay 2 visa fees though, $100 each.

Hhhhmmm....are you talking specifically about China here? Or is this true for everywhere (i.e., Mexico)? I need to find out more about the whole K2 thing regarding Mexico...anyone have any additional info or links about that?

  2. We are going to start all the Visa process 1-130.

I Got in september a visa for visiting my husband while he was trainning in the Army, i was there Georgia is awesome and people there too.

I have in my visa "IV PROCESS MUST BE COMPLETED IN MEXICO", im not sure what to do about this, this means DCF?...

    Thank you su much!

Hhhhmmm...I don't know the answer to your question. But maybe try posting this in the K-3 part of the forums?

  3. Just to let whoever is interested know...We got approval on Oct. 29. I decided to call NVC, just to see if they got it yet. Got through on my second try, 10 minutes on hold, waiting my turn. The guy was nice, but said that it could be 2-4 weeks after approval before they get the file. And he suggested that I wait until the Friday or Monday after Thanksgiving to try checking again...

  4. It's also unfortunate that when illegal aliens are mentioned many Americans think of Mexicans first, but the fact is there are many other nationalities that have illegal aliens in the states as well. There just may be are more Mexican illegal aliens than any other nationality (at least that’s the perception truth).

An interesting sidebar...Between 1850 and 1920, the U.S. Census counted ethnic Mexicans in the white column.

  5. Hi, all. thanks for reply. All of you have the reason¡¡¡ The case was sent to CDJ embassy the past tuesday. Now, I´m waiting for the interview date. thanks.

Hhhmmm...."waiting for the interview date"? Do you mean waiting for Paket 3 to arrive? I was under the impression that there is not an interview date issued for K-1's for Juarez, that you just show up when you have all the needed paperwork, during regular business hours...?

  6. Does anyone know how long the police report is good for? We weren't real clear about this whole process, and my fiancee got one done back around June when I first filed the I-129F. I am wondering if she will need to have it done again...we were approved (NOA2) on Oct. 29, and are hoping to go for the interview in January. Also, does the medical need to be no more than 4 days before the interview? Or what? I'm not real clear on that. And finally, do they expect the fiance to be there with the beneficiary? I saw someone had written an affidavit explaining why they weren't there to accompany their fiancee at the interview. We are starting to try to work out the logistics of how Ruth will get to Juarez and get this part of the process done, with as little time and hassle as possible. Any specific tips or information would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to e-mail me if you want. Thanks in advance...

  8. AT LAST THE PATIENT ONE IS DANCING :dance: I called yesterday and I don't know if that helped or not. I have tears of joy-----thanks everybody for your prayers!!!! The continuing to be patient (and joyful) Alane & Ramzis :dance:

    Receipt Number: wac

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On November 6, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

    Allright!!! Congrats

  9. Thanks to everyone for their helpful replies. After some thought, my fiancée and I have decided to pursue Option 3 described in my original post (i.e., have the civil wedding in Mexico, apply for a K-3 visa, and then have the Catholic wedding in Mexico at a later date--probably in July 2008). I've already highlighted the problem with Option 1 (her parents would kill me if we lived together before the Catholic wedding), and it turns out that Option 2 won't work because you really do need to be married civilly before a priest in Mexico will marry you in the Church (it's the law!).

Talbert--I did have another question for you. You said that it's easier to have a Catholic wedding in the U.S. than in Mexico. How so? I was engaged (but didn't get married) to a different Catholic woman in the past, so I know how much of a hassle it is to get married in the Church in the U.S. Is the process even worse in Mexico?

    Thanks,

    Matt

Yes everything is more difficult in Mexico with theCatholic Church. My wife has been checking into it also for our baby's baptism. The chuch is the US doesn't have near the requirements as they do in Mexico. I would suggest talking with the church here and there to see how the requirements are different.

Wow, I'm feeling lucky. My fiancee was raised Cathoic but longer goes to church. We are just going to do a civil service here in the states. Her parents aren't crazy about it, but aren't going to try to stop it either. Then again, my fiancee is divorced, and her Mom told her to never get married again....Jajaja so much for her and giving advice...

  10. Well everybody----I took the big chance and called again today----The lady was pretty nice. she said my case was assigned on october 15!!!! But the officer still is reviewing it!!!! I have had no touches, no nothing, I'm about to lose it-----sorry to say -----the FORMER patient one, Alane & Ramzis (F)(F)

Alane & Ramzis--I am putting in a special prayer, directly to the Holy Mother of God Herself, to intercede on your behalf. We are pulling for you...

Thanks---I'm REALLY happy for you guys, but these times way past ours is nearly KILLING me!!!! Did you get the CRIS email or just see the update on the USCIS site? Really I want to know, and thanks, the always patient, Alane & Ramzis :whistle:

Just the USCIS site- no e-mail

  13. Congratulations!! So, was this an approval from California or Nebraska? I don't understand if Nebraska is still approving petitions they received in June. I don't think so. but I am just curious. I wish it was from Vermont really!!

Well, at the time I sent it in, it went to Nebraska, and then was forwarded on to California. I guess now they go straight to California? Ours was 135 days total. Someone else posted a message that said someone at the service (? Ha! is that the right word?!) center told them that they are working on the easy ones first? I forget where I just saw that..all of these threads gets a little confusing. Anyway, maybe that just means our was rather straight-forward and easy to adjudicate? DON'T mis-interpret that...just guessing...

OMG! What a feeling! Thanks to everyone....I know I hardly posted at all here. Mostly a lurker. But I learned everything from the information on this site, and from reading all of your posts. You'll be hearing more from me, now that things are moving along, and I will be asking about the next phases of this process. Thanks to everyone associated with the Visa Journey site, for all of your help and efforts.

  18. yea I know they are a joke them selfs, make REF: trick see what happen after that... actually they are now prossing the june filers.. we all are on it... not April, April already done as will may. so CSC is on june filers..

Many April and May filers are wishing that they were done with April and May, but there are still many waiting...hope it's soon since they are starting on June :)

Touched-like a virgin-for the very first time...I was beginning to wonder. Let's hope this is the start of something good. Our NOA1 was June 26, and this is the first sign of life, even if it is a feeble pulse. I must say that based on some things I've read here after filing, I fear we may be in for an RFE. We shall see.

  19. The California center is now working on K1 aps from April 12. My application date was in June. Does that mean I'm 2 months away from having them review mine?

The dates posted are an approximate time frame, more or less. If you also look at your estimate from the VJ timeline date, it says your I-129F petition may be approved as early as Nov. 13th. This is simply an estimate since it may take a little longer or you may receive approval a couple days before. I remember my actual approval for the I-129F came a couple days (maybe around 2 weeks) after the VJ estimated approval.

You can also register with the uscis.gov website and check up on the site to see if they have "touched" your case. This will give you an indication if they are at least looking at your case.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the response. You inspired me to check my online status on the uscis.gov website. And here is what it said ...

    ...

How unbelievably cool is that! You bring me luck. This is the NOA2, right? It came before the ETA. So now it goes onto the National Visa Center, verdad? I'm looking at your timeline and see that you received your NOA2 in October of last year and got the Visa at the end of January. I'm hoping it works out for me like that. I'm soooooooooo broke. With teaching English, the schools shut down in December, and don't come back 'til mid January. That means I won't even be getting paid pesos for a month or so ... only living off what my novia makes, which is just a bit more than I make. If we could snag that Visa in early February and get me a job in California paying dollars, that would be about as awesome as it gets - maybe we could get it all done before the new school session so I don't have to ask for time off.

I'm so jacked. Please don't let this thread die on me - all ya'll that came before me have given the best information available. And that's the neta.

Hey, Congrats!! Your NOA1 date is just a week ahead of ours....Fingers crossed that is a good sign...hopefully we aren't far behind you...I try to limit the number of times I check the web site to 2 or 3 times a day, but the more I see posts like yours, the harder that gets for me.
