I guess people from gujarat will be able to answer this question in detail? neways my wife lives in gujarat. On the mumbai consulate's website for PCC requirement it says that some district in gujarat no longer issue local PCC, in that case just bring Passport office PCC. Now my wife did try to get PCC from the local police station but was told that they cant give one. Now at the time of interview, do we have to prove that we fall in "the district which does not issue local PCC"? I mean should I get something from the local police station saying "they no longer issue local certi?". what do you guys think?

try to get pcc from police commissioner office, when u will apply for pcc from police commissioner office they will issue a letter to da local police station for your clearance, so u take it to da local police station n do your clearance process its generally take 1 to 2 hourzz, they will ask u 2 to 3 time u have a case on u or not, n other normal stuff like your home address, parents name etc, just like an application n yeah givce them 100 rs or 200 rs so u can get it rite away, n local police station will issue a letter tht u have clear record, take tht letter bak to office of police commissioner n they will issue a pcc in like 10 or 15 minutes.

im also from gujarat(baroda) i got pcc without any problem but as u say da local police dont issue it then tell them to write it down for ya tht will be good........ did u have ur pcc from passport office? b'coz as much as i know passport office ppl will ask for pcc from local police station... i m gonna go get my pcc from passport office in few dayzz i guess

so i mailed my packet 3 on 27th june n was waitting n waitting to confirm that my packet 3 was received by consulate, yes phone is useless i tried to call mumbai consulate for like 4 day but no luck finally i got reply to my email to them n they stated that my packet 3 was not received.. i sent is by registed A.D. who knowzz wht happened but i sent packet 3 again yesterday dis time i hope tht they receive it.... i just wanna confirm tht wht address should we sent da packet 3.. i sent it to the address mentioned on da packet 3 checklist

I just recieved an email with my interview date of Sept 7!! This makes me sooooo happy I feel like Ive been waiting forever. I just wanted to let everyone know who is waiting for an interview date at Ciudad Juarez. It took exactly a year for the interview date by the way.

My wife's k-3 interview is scheduled for Aug 2nd @ 10 AM. Need advice from those who went thru Chennai Consulate or going through Chennai.

Received the packet with visa forms

DS-156 (2 copies), DS-156K, DS-230 PART 1

I need help with the following

1. DS156, DS156K have to be filled out. Do we have to fill DS230 Part 1 (the instructiosn only refer DS156)

2. Do the documents have to be submitted in person at a VFS office?

3. Does my wife have to submit them in person or can I request my brother to submit the documents?

(do they verify any information etc. which would require my wife to be in person at the VFS office)

i would say fill all the forms but do not sign any form your wife will be asked to sign it in front of CO, and it will not hurt to fill of ds 156k and i guess its good to go personally to VFS

my wife file my I 130 in feb n I 129 on march 8th both r approved n on 27th june i sent in my packet 3 i ask da consulate (mumbai) about my packet 3 n they told me tht they sent my packet 3 on 7th june but i never received so they asked me to download n sent is da packet 3......... man i hope i get interview in aug... b'coz my 1st anniversary is on 2nd sept i pary to god tht i get interview in aug

If you mean NOA1 in your I-129F timeline and NOT NOA2 then both of our dates are pretty close to each other... NOA1 for my wife's K3 is also about 19 days..

we filled on march 8th n on june 11th our I 129 F got approved....... got hard copy mail tht our 129f is approved and they also assigned BMB #............... but wht funny u know da usccis site showed case pending.......lol n today i get email tht on 26th june our I129f got approved thtzz funni...........

Just to help anyone trying to contact Mumbai: email is the best way. Read the auto-reply they send very carefully!

how did u check that your file is Delivered to Consulate according to DHL?? i wonder its not possible to check

i am thinking about telling my wife to go ahead and send in packet 3 papers to mumbai counslate.

1. is it ok to do so without receiving the packet 3? NVC told me that counslate has already received the paper work (don t know exactly when?)

2. for packet 3 we only have to send in DS - 156, DS 230 (with only first part filled out), copy of passport pages, copies of marriage certificate (to show change of names), birth certificates (which is scholl leaving certificate), and lastly 2 passport size photos of her.

do i need to send in any thing else with it?

Raj, wait for Mumbai to tell you they have the package. You have the BMB number right? It's all you need. Packet 3 does not mention marriage certificate or birth certificate -- these are required at interview. Collect them. Have them handy. But don't send them in! The packet 3 instructions say: "DO NOT SEND THE DOCUMENTS TO THIS OFFICE NOW. YOU WILL NEED TO SUBMIT THEM AT YOUR VISA INTERVIEW." Read carefully.

For my packet 3 (k3 visa) I am having my wife send:

1.) Packet 3 instructions with BMB number and other info filled, signed.

2.) DS-156 filled with two photos stapled on top of each other in the bottom right hand corner, signed.

3.) DS-230 Part I, signed

4.) Full copy of her passport.
