He can go to a different one. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/DKR-Dakar.html

IMPORTANT: All applicants may attend a medical exam with one of the approved physicians in SENEGAL. Applicants residing in GUINEA or THE GAMBIA may attend a medical exam with the approved physician in their country of residence or one of the approved physicians in SENEGAL.

    Thank you for your help.

  2. Hello

My spouse was originally scheduled for an interview in March. Due to the backlog of cases in Dakar Senegal his interview was cancelled. He had already completed the medical exam and it is now expired. His new appointment is for the end of September. My question is does he have to go back to the original doctor who did his first medical exam or can he go to another approved physician panel.

Always attend the interview even if medical is not complete

a 221 will be issued for the medical document to get to embassy and then the visa will match the medical

don't postpone an interview when you wait so long for one

Thank you I will arrange for him to get another medical exam in the first week of July

  4. Hello

I am a US citizen who petitioned for my spouse in March of 2019. My DQ date was February 13, 2020. We have been waiting for an interview appointment and we received one for December 3rd of 2020. The NVC didn't notify me about the appointment until 2 weeks prior (November 16th ) and my husband did not complete the medical exam at that time. When he went to get the medical exam the physician panel told him that she could not guarantee that the medical exam would be complete in time for the interview so we rescheduled the appointment and got a new appointment for March 3rd. Fast forward my husband completed the medical exam on February 3rd just so that he could get it out the way and 1 week from the interview we received and email that his interview appointment has been cancelled due to the backlog of cases at the consulate and the next available appointment they have available is July 13. I contacted the embassy to let them know that he already completed the medical exam and I wanted to know if it would still be valid. They let me know that the medical exam would be 5 months old so it would still be valid at the time of the scheduled interview. My question is would he have to get a new medical exam once he is issued the visa? And will the visa be valid for 6 months from when it was issued if the medical exam expires.

The embassy didn’t give us specific reason for the blue letter. Even though cr1/ir1 isn’t under EO, seems like all visa issuance is pending right now. That’s why we are so upset with the embassy and wrote letter to the congressman.

I hope the congressman is able to help you guys. I'll keep you in my prayers 🙏

    Hi, All.

Am here to update my immigration case.

I had my interview on June 25th, which was scheduled by US embassy in South Korea.

(My original interview was scheduled on April, however got cancelled due to the Covid 19.)

    This is conclusion ;

Even though there was no any document issue, I got BLUE LETTER.

The interviewer saying , currently my visa application is refused.

He mentioned there's no problem with my interview but they're giving me the blue letter as a part of administration process.

Many people who had the interview around June (CR1 / IR1) are in the same situation currently.

The embassy responded they don''t know when they could issue the visa.

If the time comes, dispatch the passport along with blue letter to the embassy for the visa issuance.

Many people, including me and my husband, are very disappointed and furious at this point.

What was the point of having interview if the embassy wouldn't give visa without specific reason?

Our case is not even under restricted by Trump administration's EO..?

My husband raised the complaint to the congressman and we expect hearing from him hopefully.

Very sorry to share this sad news to ya all & will update again if there's

I'm really sorry to hear that. I dont understand if your documents and interview went smoothly what was the reason for the blue slip?

We were DQ on March 16th. Our case was stuck at NVC. Yesterday we emailed the embassy in my country with a formal request for our case to be expedited. At noon they replied that they were going to request our case to be sent from NVC and get back to us when they had our case. Later in the day NVC emailed that our request for expedite had been approved, that our case was now in transit on its way to the embassy and that the embassy would get in touch with us and give us an emergency interview appointment. So quick!

Our reasons for expedite were that the petitioner is living alone and is in a risk group for covid19, so he needs support for his health and well-being. Also, we provided a document which proves I'm living in a multi/generational family and therefore also at higher risk if I stay in my country.

After being stuck in Nebraska for a year and approaching 2 years since we sent in the petition, we are finally on the last stretch!

Don't wait for the embassies to open if you have a reason to ask for your case to be expedited!

Wow!! This is great news. I wish you guys the best and I hope all goes well. I wish i could do this but I dont know what reason could I use being that I am the petitioner who filed for my spouse to come live in the US and then where my husband lives their are only 23 active cases as of now. So im not sure if I would be allowed to even expedite it.

If your case documentarliy qualifed and the nvc messages you that we will send ur case to embassy but now due to virus its closed is my case still gonna reach the embasssy or its on hold now?

I called the NVC last week to inquire about this because my case became documentarily qualified in February. They told me that the case was still at the NVC and that they cannot send the case to the embassy without an interview appointment date being set. So until the embassies open up I guess thats when the NVC will start to book interview dates and then they will send the case to the embassy. I hope this helps.

I just had my ir1 interview at a 'closed' consulate.

If you have received a cancelation notice but for whatever reason need to travel to the US soon, email your consulate asking for emergency services. We briefly explained our predicament and I ended up having my interview the same day it was originally scheduled. Best thing : no lines, I was the only one there!

Obviously their response will depend on visa type and the consular officer's discretion.

Congrats!! I'm still waiting for them to schedule my interview in Dakar. I was waiting to get an appointment date before all this start so I don't think that can do this. Best of luck to you

the wait time for IL for senegal embassy is 3 to 4 months wait my interview is April 16 and i have not received a cancellation notice yet. my DQ is jan 15

Good luck on your interview I pray all will go well for you. Let's hope Covid19 doesnt affect you

  12. On February 13th I got a notice regarding my immigrant visa case becoming documentarily qualified. I was told that the NVC would work with the US Consulate in Dakar- Senegal to schedule an interview. I haven't heard anything since then and now with the Covid19 outbreak I know it will take even longer to get an interview appointment.
