My mom got approved for her immigration visa. I’m looking to buy her ticket and if i’m not mistaken i need to buy a round trip because US border control has the ultimate say so when she arrives right? Or can i just buy a one way?

we’re starting the next leg of this long journey and mom now has an appt at the local US Embassy scheduled. The email that was sent mentioned an MRV fee. I can’t seem to find out how much -if any?- this fee is for an IR-5 visa. i see every other type of visa mentioned for the fee but no IR Visa types.

my wife is the sponsor but is at basic training, so yes it’s an IR5, for my mother in law. I’m keeping fingers crossed I can get her here by her graduation. -
sorry, it’s been so long i don’t remember.. My mother in law has received the letter from the embassy saying it’s time to get ready for her interview and to get the medical at st lukes, (scheduled for later this month) but do we need to do anything to initiate the visa interview appointment or will that happen after the medical? thank you
