Retrogression. It happens from time to time.
Hmm. So we should be expecting interview only after our PD is current? That means we shouldn't be expecting interviews within six months or even more?? Actually, I read it somewhere that after submitting all the docs, NVC schedules interviews within 60-90 days... Thats why I was unsure...

No, it does not. You still have to wait for your PD to be current for a visa to be available. Sending stuff to the NVC just saves time - you do this in advance so that your file is all good to go when the PD does become current. Since the PD did not move from February to March this year one must assume that the category is massively oversubscribed. You could be waiting at the NVC for a year.

I was checking the visa bulletins, In January, I see that visa were current for 01FEB 2007 but in February however the date goes back to 1JULY 2006.... i dont understand....please help me understand

They are currently working June 2006 filers. So at the end of the year your priority date might be current. It could take longer as there was no movement between February and March this year.
Actually we've already got letter from NVC and we paid fees and submitted docs to nvc..... doesn't that mean our PD is current?

I don’t know how responsive Nepal is but maybe if you contact them now and ask them to schedule the case for after your conference it will be the easiest way.
Our case is still at NVC I assume since we only submitted our docs a week ago..... can I contact embassy now even when the case hasn’t reached?
-
Yes. It’s a conference and I don’t want to miss it 😭
i’m interviewing from Kathmandu, nepal.
We submitted the documents a week ago and taking references of other cases (spousal visa cases) from nepal i estimated the interview date to be before June.
I don’t know if the spousal visa and sibling visa cases have same wait time for the interview.....
-
Thank you all for your insights. Because of all your valued concerns and suggestions ... I’m thinking of postponing our visa interview until after my travel... so that i can travel with my B1B2 alone and come back and have immigrant visa interview.

Hi guys. Has anyone postponed visa interview dates?
How long after can we reschedule the interview date?? Can we do postpone it for 1 month?

Through this site, I came to know that people contacted NVC for CSPA review.
I am a derivative beneficiary under FB4 category and although I am 21+, i am protect under CSPA. I was able to pay my IV fees and submit documents. And I didn’t contact NVC for any reviews.....
My question is now how do I prove at interview that I’m protected under CSPA? Are there any additional documents needed? Do I need to notify NVC to inform Embassy? Is it automatic?
also found out from here that cspa children are given cspa worksheets in interviews........ Do I need to Inform Embassy before the interview about this?
-
What is visa bulletin current date? Is it the date when NVC case was created? Or is it the interview date?
-
Thankyou! and how long is the wait time between the interview letter and the actual interview date?
Trying to estimate our visa timeline.....

I submitted all the required documents on FEB 18th 2020. But I haven't got any emails or anything confirming their receipt.
Considering all the documents meet the standard, how long should we wait to get case complete notice? and how long should we wait for an interview? Our interview will be in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Please share your experience on wait times.

Hii
How long did it take to get DQ after submitting all the docs? Also have you gotten the interview date yet?
-
@designguy Thankyou for your answer. I asked the same question to US embassy. They replied
"We understand that you have a query regarding travel to U.S.
In response to your question, please be informed that if you have a valid visa, unmarked and undamaged you may travel. Please note that your purpose of travel should meet as per your visa class."Now, I'm even confused.

I currently have a non-immigrant visa (B1-B2). I am intending to travel to
the United States in June 2020 with my B1-B2 visa.
But in the meantime, I might be getting an immigrant visa before June.
Will having an immigrant visa revoke my non-immigrant visa?
I am not traveling to the United States with an intention to immigrate in
June. Furthermore, in order to immigrate to the United States, I would have
to travel with my mother because she is the principal applicant to the
immigrant visa of which I am a derivative beneficiary. And my mother is not
travelling with me in June.

Hmmm but i am still confused..... if visa bulletin of January says 1FEB 2007 and says
“Numbers are authorized for issuance only for applicants whose priority date is earlier than the final action date listed below.” Our PD is earlier than feb 2007..... doesn’t that mean our PD became current on January?
