What to Prepare Before Calling:
You will need the following information before you call:
– Name and date of birth of the beneficiary
– Name and date of birth of the petitioner
– Receipt number from your NOA-2Thanks for the tips Hank_! They ended up getting back to us by email before we got a chance to call back 😊 We're onto the next step in the process.

My fiance is applying for me to get residency in the US through the fiance visa program. The petition has been accepted, but we've waited more than 30 days and still haven't received anything from the NVC. She emailed them, as recommended by the letter they sent (which said we should email them if we don't hear from them within 30 days), however the only response they sent was an automatic email saying that we should call them. When she calls them, she is unable to navigate the options to speak to a real representative, rather than the automatic messages that aren't helping her. Does anyone have experience with this who would be able to help?

First get your SSN and then go and do the courthouse/ordained person wedding and submit the papers for AOS.
It doesn't matter for AOS if you will have/had a big fancy wedding or just a courthouse/ordained person marrying you at home.

Great, thank you for the advice. Especially the SSN tip, that's good to know.

My fiancée lives in the US and our wedding is planned for early July this year. So long as the fiance(e) visa is accepted soon, I plan to fly to the US early to mid April to help organise the wedding. We have been considering signing the wedding papers together as soon as I arrive there before the actual wedding ceremony, so that the green card can begin processing asap, but we're not sure if that would be a good idea or if the US government wouldn't like it. What do you guys think?
