  1. Lastnight my husband went on his normal nightly run and when he came home he had a bunny in his arms, he found it on the side of the road, scared and freaked out by the cars going by, and hopped right into my husbands arms when he bent down to pick it up. its not a wild bunny, its a tame bunny, one raised in a home, and obviously around children. This bunny is even potty trained, hops in the box to pee and poo, and then hops back out.

prob is i cant convince ed to let me and the kids keep it (teehee), and no one has responded to my flyers about a lost bunny. I dunno what to do. animal control wont do anything, and the humane society will prolly kill it. i want to keep it tho

It sounds like a great pet and my first thought is that the owner may still be looking for it. You might try calling the area vet clinics to find out if they have had any bunnies as patients that fit its description. You could also advertise in the Lost and Found section of your area newspaper and see if anyone has an add for a lost bunny and I think that it is free to advertise a Lost and Found ad if you wanted to put an ad in the paper for a Found bunny. It's always a gamble taking it to

the Humane Society or area shelter.

Otherwise, if you don't find the owners, maybe it will 'grow' on your husband in the meantime and you will have a nice pet to keep!

  2. So they've both had accidents outside of the litterbox, even though they use the litterbox most of the time. For example, just now the girl crawled into bed with me and proceeded to urinate right next to my head. A few minutes later I saw her using the litterbox as normal. Any ideas what that's about?

Since they are new to your home, they may be confused about where to use the litter box. You may try putting litter boxes where they are having their accidents (next to the bed). Also, they don't like having their litter boxes close to their food so if their food is close to the litter box they may not want to go there. Cats can also be very finicky about sharing their litter boxes. I've been told to have as many litter boxes as you do cats; so in your case have 2 litter boxes. They can also be picky about the kind of litter that is in the box too. Let's see...what else...sometimes they like their privacy and like having their litter boxes in secluded areas too (can't blame them there) and some just need a prestine litter box to go in all the time so you may have to keep up with cleaning it several times a day. Also, don't punish them by rubbing their noses in it, etc. If they were older, peeing outside of the litter box may be a sign that there is something wrong with them physically; such as a urinary tract infection but I'm pretty sure that isn't the case with them at this age.

They are getting adjusted to their new home and once they get things figured out, you shouldn't have any more problems.

Now I want to get a new kitty. But I've got this big guy who is only 10 months old and if he grows any bigger we're going to need a bigger house:

    fluffy.jpgfluffy1.jpg

  3. Love the orange kitties. Orange males have always been my favorites! I've had 4 named Skeeter, Petie, Sunny and Tiger. For male cats, you definitely want to get them neutered before 6 months of age otherwise they start 'spraying' (peeing on things) to mark their territories. Once they start that, it is nearly impossible to get them to stop even after neutering.

Along with their vaccines, they will need tested for feline leukemia and FIV and parasites (stool sample) and be checked for fleas and ear mites. If I can see well enough in the pictures, it looks like they have some dirt or debris around their noses and eyes and I can't see their ears well enough but you may check to see if there is a lot of black/brown looking crud in their ears too. If so, that is a good indication that they have ear mites. None of those are uncommon in the least for kittens to have!

Are you considering declawing? I used to do that to my cats but after actually watching the procedure being done, I decided that I would never do that to a cat again. I keep my cat's nails trimmed very short and I haven't had any problems with things being destroyed. There is also a product called Soft Claws that can be put on the ends of the cat's claws and that prevents them from destroying things.

Can't wait to hear the chosen names!

  4. I tried Proactive and it burned the hell out of my skin. I have very sensitive skin, though. Come to find out, I'm allergic to benzoyl peroxide. Find out if you're allergic to the ingredients first if you're gonna try it. I didn't go out of my house for 3 days because of what that shet did to my skin.

That's a sucky way to find out you're allergic! I also have very sensitive skin too and have to be very careful with what I put on my face. For some reason though ProActive didn't bother my skin. Although I will embarassingly admit I did so something stupid when I first got it. I left the mask on my face overnight to speed up the process (:blush: ) and my skin was bright red in the morning and it felt sunburn for a couple of days. I learned to not do that again.

  5. I've had acne my entire life and have tried just about everything; doctors, antibiotics, cheap cleansers, expensive cleansers, all kinds of skin regimens. I started using ProActive last October and I had comments after just a few days of using it like: What did you do different?, There's something differnent about you., You have a glow., Your skin looks so good. That was even before the acne was gone. I noticed how good my skin felt and how much healthier my skin looked right away with ProActive. It's now several months later and my acne is so much better. It is expensive and I only use it sparingly. It's worked for me so far.

I should be on a commercial or something or get free products or at least a discount for promoting it. :P

Also wanted to add that you can have a trial size for $20.00 to try and see if you like it. That's what I did so I wasn't out too much $ if it really didn't work.

  6. I've done a search on here about Emergency AP's and I've only read about them being issued the same day at an Infopass appointment as long as we have all the required documents (birth certificate, letter from doctor, translated letter from doctor, form I-131 and payment). However, when I asked about the emergency AP at our Infopass in Des Moines, they said that those are no longer issued on the same day and we have to send it in and we would receive it in about 2 weeks.

Since Des Moines obviously won't do it on the same day, is there any way possible for me to do another Infopass appointment in another location that will do it on the same day? For example, going to Chicago instead of our local office in Des Moines?

    Any ideas?

  7. Hi this is my timeline:

I applied together with I-130, I-485, and I-765 . My notice date is on April 27,2007.

I took the biometrics on May 18,2007. But until now, i haven't got any interview notice.

When should i get my interview notice? By the way, My EAD has been approved, and I got the card on July 14,07.

    Thanks in any replies.!

My NOA1 date is March 29, 2007. I am still waiting for an interview date. Even though it feels like you're being left behind, I am learning that it is more common than it appears from everyone else's timelines to not have an interview/transfer within the first 6 weeks.

  8. Dear Friends, when we change adress, at USCIS says we can do it online, has anyone filled online AR 11 Change of Adress? If we choose to file AR11 online then we dont need to anything else, right? I mean, we dont need to call USCIS 1-800 number and inform local office, just to fill AR11 online is what we need I think so!

    Thanks

We had to change our address in May. I filled out the online form and then changed the address for the I-485 and the I-765 online as well. I called USCIS to make sure that was all we needed to do and they said that we also needed to change the address over the phone AND print out the AR-11 and send the hard copy as well. You may get a different answer depending who you talk to when you call USCIS, who knows. I figured it was better to be safe than sorry and I did every way possible. Also, I changed the address for the I-864 as well. We received our EAD card to the changed address so it worked.

  9. The last time I flew in April, I was looking out my window after a good 2 hours into the flight. Just then, another jet flew right underneath our plane plain as day. Another guy sitting in a seat next to me looked at me like, what the h@ll was that??? Very freaky. Do they allow planes to cross paths that close to one another?

  10. The bank that we have our car loan with will not allow us to ship the car overseas (only if we were in the military which we are not). We want to ship it for business purposes for 4 weeks while in Spain.

Chase is the only bank that I've found so far that will allow that but they didn't approve us because of one stipulation. There has got to be other banks out there that will allow this.

    Anyone with any ideas?

Is there something special about the car? For four weeks, it would probably still be cheaper to rent one. Even if the car loan didn't have a stipulation, what about insurance?

We can get insurance for the car while it is there. Yes it would be cheaper to rent a car there. However, we need to ship the car there for other reasons.

  12. Yeah, most of my friends that applied for AOS with EAD said that they wasted their money because they got the greencard before the EAD card

That's why I applied for EAD first (don't have the that time )

where is our EAD??????? I swear they lost our file :ranting::ranting::ranting:

I applied before some of you & we haven't heard anything. I am BEYOND annoyed now

I know how you feel! Everyone was getting approved left and right for their EAD's and ours wasn't even been touched. We got our approval on 6/26 - took 95 days. We received the card in the mail on 7/5. Yours is coming soon I'm sure.

  13. Still no EAD. It was supposedly resent on Monday, but we'll see. :| We don't really know what to do at this point. Wait? Infopass? It's ridiculous.

This has got to be so frustrating. I'm so sorry. :(

Still no any touch for me since May 21. Should I do infopass? or it's just waste of time.... :crying:

With an infopass, there's always the hope of getting some more information or at least knowing that they can look your case up on the computer and see that it is still there. If you were in Des Moines, I wouldn't recommend an infopass because it just makes you more frustrated however.

I got touched daily for the last two days. it has been a long time since i was touched. I am really hoping to hear about a approval soon. I am afraid. could it that they are still screening the FBI stuff??
I'm beginning to wonder if I should look into booking an infopass too. If I am caught up in namecheck hell (and honestly, since I am going on 4.5 months now, then I don't see what else it could be) then I am thinking I should get an AP app in before the rates go up in a few weeks.

Hmmmm. How soon will they let you book an infopass (after filing, I mean)?

    Mo

We're still at Missouri because of name checks after almost 4.5 months. Our last touch was 6/26 when our EAD was approved so I'm guessing a part of the name checks were completed then and now we are in the next step of name checks (whatever that is).

Our good news is that our EAD was approved on 6/26 and we got the card on 7/5. With the EAD card my husband was able to get his driver's license (after 3 attempts each for the written and driving tests  ). Getting the driver's license seemed to be a big step in giving my husband a feeling of more independence.

  14. I have several things I really feel need to be said. I've been busy this week, and just got a chance to catch up on all that's been said.

I trully feel terrible for people who wait an extremely long time to be approved. I expected to have to wait atleast until January to be approved myself. I had already told my family I wouldn't be able to come up and visit them at all until the next year. I did not apply for an EAD either, so I continue to fill my time will volunteering, etc. When I was approved, I, as everyone does, was VERY excited. Suddenly the whole country of possibilities opened put to me. I realize I may have the opportunity to travel to our cabin with my family, and when my husband travels oversees with work, I would now have the opportunity to join him! Than when I saw the speed people were receiving there green cards in I became even MORE excited! But my card didn't come, and I found out it may not even be in the mail due to a 'problem' at CSC. My heart sank. I KNOW alot of people are in a worse situation than I, and I in no way mean to down play that. I just really miss my family, and you spend so much time not knowing when you'll see them again, than suddenly you realize, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SOON, than you're forced to shift back to having no idea when... it's hard, and i"m sorry you don't feel I have a right to be concered about the posibility of my card being lost in the mail, or it not being produced at all due to an error (as read in the press release section of uscis.gov)

Until last week, everytime I used VJ i felt NO personal connection at all. I felt no connection with anyone at all. until DR_LHA, and Flutter started taking a personal concern to my situation. I felt I could share how I was feeling and what was going on, aparantly I was wrong?

I shared my daily happens, because I actually felt someone out there that UNDERSTANDS, CARED about my daily struggle. All us without a green card of EAD sitting at home passing the time just waiting to feel a bit more accepted by this country... that's how I feel anyways.

If I honestly offended you by sharing these things, or if my looking to see if ANYONE else was in the same situation as me (if you look back at the beginning this is why I posted.. I was looking for others in the same situation) I apologize.

  15. First of all, the *security officer* at the door kept looking through my husband's passport. After seeing he had written, A#, on the paper in front of him, I said that he doesn't have an A#. He just had this blank look on his face.

Why does your husband not have an A#? If he's applied for AOS he should have one.

Testing my knowledge for AOS from VWP

because they do not have an approved I-130 which is where the A# would come from

You get an A# assigned when you get NOA1 for I-130 and I-485, not after I-130 is approved.

Oops, Dr_LHA already said that :)

Yes my husband came on a K-1. No we didn't file the I-130 because that is not required when adjusting from a K-1. My husband DOES NOT have an A# on his visa. I didn't see an A# listed on the NOA1 for the I-485. I will look again...

  16. I agree with Kezzie - I think you're being a little hasty here!

My AOS was not atypical, and it took me just under the 90 days to get my EAD (a similar timeframe to you), about 5 months to receive notice of an interview, and 7 months to actually get to the interview date. If anything, my AOS was relatively quick, being that I went through Vermont.

Remember also that there's absolutely no guarantee of a transfer to CSC. Just because you (and your congressperson) feel that you should be approved without an interview doesn't mean that USCIS will agree.

Don't panic - it will get there in its own sweet time and you really haven't been waiting long enough to get angsty about it.

I understand that you are responding to me being 'hasty' and 'angsty' but I want to really thank you for telling me about your AOS experience. I have spent a lot of time looking at timelines and posting to find out if there are others that waited longer than 6 weeks to get an interview date or a transfer and now you are the first that I've seen! It's nice to know that even though it is uncommon (and over the past few months it is uncommon) you were successful. It's nice to know that I'm not alone.

I'm not sure why it sounded like I felt that I would be approved without an interview. I would rather NOT be transferred and have an interview.

The purpose of my post was to share my infopass experience. What I found amazing, hasty and angsty was the attitude of the infopass lady and the security officer and their lack of knowledge of the AOS process.

  17. You are still well within the normal processing time for AOS..... so I am amazed that you feel you should have been transfered or had an interview letter by now and have involved your congressman this early in the process.... you only filed at the end of march....

    Kez

I am very aware that I am still in the normal processing time for AOS. I know that there are others that are still waiting for years after filing. I am also aware that there are many (MOST) that have their transfers or interview dates within 6 weeks (mostly within 1 month) of filing. In that regard I DO feel that we should have had an interview date or transfer by now. If you look at the ones that have filed from February until now, you will see that it is unusual to not have an interview date or transfer by now.

If I have to wait one more week or 5 more years, I still want to know as much information as I can as the process goes along.

  18. Egads... well, one comfort that can be drawn, is that the misinformation service certainly lives up to its name.

Very sorry to hear your experience there and happy to know it's over. Here's hoping that you receive the EAD in the mail without delay.

It sounds very much to me, that the security guard and the info pass representative (if she can even be called that) have had a nice helping of ignoramus pie that day. Be well.

Well, congrats on the EAD though...even if it took an extra 5 days.

Thank you - we are very happy to have the EAD! The infopass appt experience put a damper on our excitement with the EAD approval.

  19. We went to an infopass appt last Tuesday to originally find out about our EAD. We looked online that morning and saw that the EAD was approved (took 95 days). Within 30 minutes of getting that email, our senator's office called to let us know that the EAD was approved. I feel VERY LUCKY to have such a great contact at that office who is very efficient in following through with our inquiries.

We decided to go ahead and go to the infopass appt to ask about our AOS and why we haven't been transferred or received and interview date and to ask about an emergency AP (my husband's mother is having major surgery). What a mistake THAT was!

First of all, the *security officer* at the door kept looking through my husband's passport. After seeing he had written, A#, on the paper in front of him, I said that he doesn't have an A#. He just had this blank look on his face.

We sat down to talk to the lady at the desk with the security guard seated just behind us. We asked about the emergency AP and she told us that they no longer issue you them the same day. We have to mail the papers and it takes about 2 weeks.

I asked about the AOS and if we are in name checks. She said that we are still in processing at Missouri. I asked about the process of name checks and that it seemed that our case was taking quite a bit longer and we hadn't received any notice of our case being transferred or being sent a date for an interview. She laughed and said that NO ONE gets their AOS approved without an interview. I told her that I knew of 5 cases in Iowa and that 3 of those had been transferred to CSC. She laughed again and said that that isn't even possible. She went on to say how rediculous that was and to just think about the terrorists! (WHAT? ) I explained that there are 100's of cases that get transferred. I told her that Senator's Harkin's office had told me that it looked like we were going to be transferred. She again was laughing and behind me the *security officer* mockingly said (who was having a fun time mocking us the entire time) well I guess they know more about immigration than immigration does!

FINALLY another person walks in and the lady we were talking to asked her if she had ever heard of any AOS cases being transferred to CSC. THANK GOD she said Oh Yes and went on to explain that they are trying to streamline the process and went on to confirm several other things I had said that she was laughing at. Note: The *security guard* said nothing more after this.

They didn't give any information that we didn't already know (except proving that they are incompetent idiots). In fact it seemed like she had more information when she was looking on her computer screen but wasn't willing to give any more information than she had to.

We left feeling completely frustrated and p$ssed off! It took everything I had to leave without going into a rant at the complete unprofessionalism and incompetence of that office. As you can see, it's been a week and it still bothers me enough to post about it now.

The longer I go through this immigration process the more concerned I am of the security of our country.

  20. We are moving and we changed the address online with USCIS, should we also mail the form in, and call USCIS. Anyone have any experiences with address change? Any help would be greatful, thank you.

We changed our address online (& for both I-485 and I-765) and called to change the address for everything including the I-864. When I called I asked if there was anything more we needed to do and I was told that I needed to print the AR-11 and mail it in as well. I said that I already filled it out online and submitted it electronically and she said, "Oh noooo, that isn't enough. You need to mail it in." I asked if there was a difference in the forms and she said, "Well they are similar but we need to receive a hard copy."

So when we changed our address we submitted the online AR-11, changed the address for both our applications (I-485 and I-765) online, printed out the change of address (AR-11) and the I-864 change of address form and mailed that in AND called to change our address for all applications.

We still haven't had any progress with anything so maybe we overwhelmed them with our address change forms.

  21. I know we are in the same boat as many people on here. It is just very frustrating not knowing what is taking so long. Our EAD has not even been touched since we applied. I am wondering if maybe we are in name checks or something. So many people from March are now getting approved and I feel like they are not even looking at our case. Just needed to vent a little. Thanks for listening.

We have an NOA1 date of 3/29/07 and we are still waiting for any news about our EAD and we have no news of being transferred or getting an interview date. It seems that everyone already has their EAD's from March and most of the people that filed in April. Almost everyone receives a transfer or an interview date within 6 weeks of filing; usually in 1 month or less.

From our signature you can see that we contacted our congressman and we were told that we are still in 'preliminary security review'. I have no idea what that means or why we are still in it. We did get a touch on both AOS and EAD on 6/21 and 6/24 but no explanation as to why we were touched. I'm hoping it's good news.

Tuesday it will be 90 days since our NOA1 and no sign of the EAD. :(
