  1. 3 more weeks, I will use singapore airline and will arrive in the US. I am soo nervous now. Even though I have a visa, i can be denied to enter right? I have no idea what to be asked.

I will use LAX and hope that i will not have to face any trouble. Anyone experienced difficulities? We are planning to marry on the 28th of June. But, I am not sure if my parents can make it or not. The thing is that my grandparents need help daily from my mom and there is a possiblity that we might have to marry by ourselves and have some dinner with my fiance's family. And when we go to to my home later one like next year or whatever, we can celebrate with my family. But, if I am asked at the POE about my parents' attending, should I simply say yes? I have no idea what to do.

  2. Now, I have a visa. Next month, I will go to the US to marry my fiance. Well, I need to wait for EAD, but once I get it, I will go to work as soon as possible.

Here is a thing. I got BA from American University as a communication studies major. Well, it means that I love to speak, communicate and interact with people. So during my senior year, I worked at starbucks on campus. It was so much fun.

Now, I would like to get a job at places like nordstrom. I love fashion, cosmetics, sales, customer serives and making results.

While I was waiting for my visa, I was a shift manager at a cafe in my homecountry. Trust me, I grew up in the middle of nowhere. Well, now, I am pretty nervous about job hunting in the US. How did everyone do job hunting?

Any advice? Please let me know.

  3. Thank you so much everyone. Yes, I will immediately apply for AOS and hopefully by October, I can start working. I do not know what I can do. But, I will try to apply as much as possible. Try not to be too picky. Since I have a BA from American university as a communication studies major, I prefer to do something like sales or customer service.

Thank you everyone. I will keep in touch with you guys.

  4. Thank you so much for everyone. I really appreciate your supports.

I got a k1 visa yesterday. Finally this super long journey is over. Soon after, I will have to have another journey, but at least, fist step is over now.

I also got a immunization notice, so I guess I have to have another vaccination shots? I do not know how this one works. I hope I can get a GC soon. I can work before I get GC right? Please let me know and again, Thank you so so so much.

    2, photo 5x5 x2

    3, medican record

    4, police record

5, birth certificate with English translation

6, I-134 notarized + his latest tax return copy, W2 copy, 06 tax return and W2( I do not think it is necesarry), a copy of employment letter, copy of one year paystubs( I know this is way too much), his bank statement ( has only $850, but at least shows the date his account opened and average balance for past 90days)

7, intent to marry letter from him and me with signatures

8, ongoing relationship + copy of his and my passport with stamps, photos, e-mail and letters

    anyone please give me advice

  6. I got a package from my fiance. He included a letter of employment from his HR office. But, it was printed out from PDF file. Basically his company sends any documents electronically. And his HR office boss wrote a letter and signed. But, she is in Florida, so she sent him the letter through PDF file. Is it ok to bring that to the interview? It is on the company's letter head and has all info about the company like phone number, fax, address etc. Please let me know.

  7. Hello. I am about to have an interview within 2 weeks. ahh I am freaking out. I just got a lot paper work from my fiance. He included a copy of his employment letter from his compant, his last year tax return (entire copy of turbotax), past a few months paystubs, bank statement which shows the date he opened the account, his current balance, past 90 days average and his w2. Ok, now I am confused.

1, Does latest tax return need to be notarized?

2, Is it ok to send just print out copies of tax return?

3, Does the employment letter need to be original? His boss sent him with PDF file. Of course his boss's signature was there, but it is just a copy. ( the company's letter head was there).

4, What is the purpose of sending a bank statement? His current balance has to have a lot? He gets paid every 2 weeks, and his balance said 850. He opened his bank account in 2004. and his average balance is not negative.

5, The last question is that what does "any other evidence adequate to establish financial ability to carry out his or her undetaking toward the applicant for what might be indefinite period of time"?

I did not understand this. A supportor can use his or her fiancial fund or whatever, but if he or she sell them, there is no way he or she can support an applicant right? Same thing with employment. My fiance used his employment as supporting evidence. But, if he gets fired or quits his job, he will not be able to support me. Please make this part clear if you know.

Thank you so much for your time.

  8. Finally my visa interview will be held on the 13th of May. I am super super super nervous now. And I am planning to enter the US in the middle of June. Ahhhh, Soo worried about questions from officers. I hope that everything will go well. Ahhh help me everyone. Give me advice. :crying::crying::crying:

  9. I have a quick question. I used to be a F1 student. I went to California State University and got BA in summer of 2006. Within one month, I started grad school. However, it was very different from what I expected and did not like the program. I did not want to keep spending my parents' money for the program I did not favor and also did not want to keep being a studen who did not know anything about the real world. I was 22 at that time. So I decided to withdraw the program and return to Japan as soon as possible even though my fiance and I decided to marry. (this was just verbal agreement)

Now, I am trying to get K1 visa and soon I will have an interview. When I enter the US as a K1 holder, Is a IO might ask me why I withdrew the program? or similar things like related questions about my college years? Has anyone ever been asked such a thing?

  10. I have a question. My fiance lives with his mom now. His brother used to live, but he joined the coast guerd and he moved to Alaska. Ok. his mom works fulltime, and so does his brother.

I will live with him and his mom. So acutally three people in our family, but his mom does not depend on him. On the form of 134, he put only my name. Should we count that our household size is 2 people and calculate minimum income based on 2 households? which is14000X125%?

    please let me know.

  11. My fiance is filling out I-134 now. He makes over poverty line. Ok, now poverty line is based on annual income right? He got a job a year ago as a new graduate and he makes 31k now. But, he has to pay so much tax and he also has very very good health insurace. He is single and no child. He lives with his mother but she is a fulltime worker and does not even depend on him. I wonder how much money you need in order to avoid public chare will apply for every person. Not like oh Japanese embassy requires more than other embassy or things like that. US embassy in Japan does not state exactly how much we need. Please let me know.

  12. I am getting ready for I-134. How much does my fiance have to earn to be approved? He makes over 125% poverty line and he is hired officially. I went to the US embassy website, but does not say exactly how much over. Please let me know.

  13. Now, I am on the last stage of getting K1 visa. Sending back DS230 tomorrow, medical exam, police clearance and interview. But, now I am supposed to be so excited, but I am a little nervous and worried about my new life in the US.

I was born and grew up in Japan. Even though I went to American University and got BA, it has been over year and half since I returned to my home. I do not have real career experience. What if I get divorced? what should I? can I really suvive in the US? Can I really find a Job in the US? I am getting really scared. I hate to be depend on my husband and I do not want to. I want to make my own money and have fun. But, I do not know how to drive. I cannot speak English like him. Just getting panicked and stressed out. Do you have any good advice?

  14. now, I am preparing myself for the interview. I have some questions.

What kinds of questions are common? I know that most popular ones are like

when and where did you meet your fiance?

how long do you know him or her?

well, did you get any tricky questions? if couples meet online, is it a problematic?

I met my fiance at high school while I was an exchange student. It was back in 2000. So almost 7 and half years ago. and we went to the same college. actually my peer group members went to the college and suggested me to go to the same college, so I did not have to feel so lonely.

At that time, we decided to date seriously. After the exchange program, I went back Japan until I started college for 9 months, but he kept approaching me. I waited until I actually saw him face to face and spent some time. Soon after, I accepted him completely.

At the interview, a person at the embassy might ask me why we had been together so long and did not marry. do you think so?

I am thinking about bring my year book and prove that I was at the same high school with him. And also I will say I was a student and could not marry because my purpose was to get education. Not marry.

  15. Hi Japan filers, I have a question.

What kinds of questions did you get at the embassy? please let me know. I am sooo worried. I met my fiance at high school during my exchange student time. And since then, we are together. I went to the same college with him and decided to marry.

  16. I finally got approved on the 7th of March. I am so excited to move to the second step. Anyways, what kinds of questions did you get at the embassy? I am a little concerned about questions because some questions can be so tricked. Like my fiance did not really propose me. We have been together for almost 7 years and the summer of 2006 when I graduated from American university, we talked about and kind of came up with marriage. and we often talked about future life which imply our marriage. So if the interviewer asks me when we engaged, it will be hard for me to answer.

Please let me know some sort of advice.

  17. Hello everyone. I got approved on the 7th of March, and my fiance got noa2 on the 11th of March. We are wondering how long it will take for NVC to get our package and send it to the embassy. I know it really depends on the case. The thing is that our online status is still the same. does not say we are approved. So, I wonder if they have not sent our package to NVC or not.

  18. I still have been waiting for noa2. It is over freaking 7 months. This is insane. I cannot stand it anymore. My last update was August 10th, but recently, finally it was update on March 7th and 9th. I do not think that this is due to phone calls because my fiance called several times in Feb.

I have no idea why it took this long. I have no RFE or anything and I am really upset. Do those two touches mean good?????????????
