  1. Congrats to all the recent EAD/AP/GC approvals.

We had our 485 interview last Fri and it was approved.. yay :dance:

As for the interview questions, the IO just asked some basic questions like both of our B'days, when did my wife move here, how did we meet and all that, then she saw some recent bank statements, pictures etc ... and that was it.

Now waiting for GC in the mail....

Good Luck to all who are still waiting...

  2. Woah... I had to dig this thread up from a few pages down just to give a minor update ... :)

    Hi All,

We received my wife's AOS interview letter (as expected because of her K3 visa) a few days back but since I 've been too bz at work, I couldn't post it earlier.. Anyways, its scheduled for Aug 29th, '08. Its about two months away but at this time, I am just glad to have an AOS interview scheduled. Some progress... correct?

Wish us lots of luck and please keep us both in your prayers. Thanks.

Good Luck to all who are still waiting..

    Regards.

  4. A quick update on my wife's AOS: we received her EAD card in the mail yesterday (06/09/08). Thank God!!!

However, I think, our AOS is not going to be transferred to CSC since I haven't had any transfer update since we filed her AOS. We are one of the early April filers too, I believe. Oh wow.. its out of my control so I am not going to fret about it. We will deal with it when the time comes. Atleast, we are happy for getting the EAD in about 2 months after we filed.

Good Luck and hang in there, guys. TC

  5. Hi All,

Just a quick minor update on my wife's AOS: she received her EAD card yesterday (06/09/08) in the mail and her EAD was approved 05/30/08. We still haven't received her EAD NOA2 in the mail yet (assuming we are supposed to) tho I had a CRIS update last Friday that her EAD NOA2 notice was sent. But since we have her EAD card already in the hand, I am not going to worry too much about it ad will give it a few more days. Hope its in the mail.

Anyhow, hoping/praying for a faster and smooth approval for her I-485.

    Good Luck, guys. TC

    Regards.

  6. Thats great pkewl

Don't worry about how long it will take.. You both are together and thats what matters

Amen Parul... Yes I do agree 100% with you on that my wife and I are together and that's way more important for us... Thanks for your kind words and I wish you (and e'one here waiting at whatever stage) a VERY GOOD LUCK

I will update again when we get the EAD card at home in the mail. Thanks again.

    Regards.

  7. Just a quick EAD related update in my wife's AOS: Got an EAD card production ordered email from CRIS on 05/30/08.

I haven't received any transfer to CSC email/mail so am still a bit skeptical about this whole AOS process and how long its going to be for us but when we have an EAD in the hand, it will go a long way to give us (my wife and I) some much-needed psychological relief :D

Good Luck to all of us waiting.

  8. It's perfectly normal not to get any touches before EAD authorisation. Not every application is sent to CSC and perhaps yours won't go there.

    Congrats on the EAD.

    Thanks for your reply.

Hopefully, NOT getting transferred to CSC (if indeed we are not going to be transferred to CSC) not mean a LONG AOS journey ahead... keeping my fingers crossed... Transferring to CSC or NOT is out of our control anyways.. so why fret it... :)

    Good Luck to all.

  9. Here is a quick update.. but first as a side mention... it seems like a long time since my last update post here on VJ :)

Anyhow, last Fri (May30th), we received a CRIS update that my wife's EAD card production has been ordered. W00t... :D

    I have a question tho:

Do you guys think its weird that since my wife's biometrics appt letter, we haven't received any updates (email or paper) from USCIS and now all of a sudden we have an EAD card production ordered email from CRIS. Weren't we supposed to be transferred to CSC first? or Do I have my sequences all tangled up? :) or either (EAD NOA2 or CSC transfer) could happened first?

Due to work load and all, I haven't been able to come to VJ as often as I used so I may have missed any updates.

Thanks for any comments/feedback. Good Luck to all.

    Regards.

  10. Wow... some very good news.. Just logged into VJ today after some down time due to workload.

    1) Edp333: Congrats Ed and Meryll.... and good luck. I am very happy for you both.. Enjoy..

    2) Divine: Same for you Kathryn... We all will be in the same boat soon again... :D Congrats and good luck

    3) UTR: Congrats to you too... I am very happy for you too.

    4) Deb: I see Mike's interview date is 06/02.. Hang in there. My best wishes and prayers..

As for our AOS update, there isn't much, as you can probably make out from my sig below. But I think its not that bad since you are with your SO but nonetheless its still a wait :). Anyhow, we applied for my wife's AOS, got the biometrics done and are now waiting for EAD and hopefully GC will arrive soon after.

Good Luck to all waiting... and once again congratulations....

    Regards,

    Pkewl

  11. Thank you gogo and pkewl. gogo, I hope the rest of the process goes quickly and smoothly for you. You deserve it for the frustrations and headaches from USCIS.

I called the Manila Embassy tonight and Grace said the visa was released to DELBROS for delivery at 5 PM Monday. This was yesterday in the Phils. Hopefully, DELBROS is better at delivering visas than transferring document verification information. I will hold off celebrating until the visa is in hand.

:dance: Wow....GREAT NEWS, ED. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! and hope the visa arrives REAL soon... I am really happy for you. You have been so patient thru out this LONG journey (atleast on the VJ forums, dont know in private :D) . Good Luck for a quickest re-unification with you SO.

For the rest, hang in there and good luck. My positive thoughts and prayers for you all.

    TC.

  12. If you have recently sent Packet 3 for K3 visa to any Indian consulate, can you please let me know if the packet 3 contains any barcoded papers and the

list of papers/items you had to send to the consulate? My I-129F for K3 will reach Mumbai consulate this Friday, and I am thinking about downloading the forms off the consulate's web site and pre-emptively sending it to them. Thanks in advance!

Pls read my sig below. You 'll get quite an idea about my wife's P3 issues from Mumbai embassy.

Basically, after confirming with Mumbai embassy (thru email and I believe I was able to talk to someone on phone too but dont exactly remember now) that they have sent out my wife's packet 3 already and after not receiving it for about 2 weeks, we decided to have my wife print packet 3 off Mumbai embassy website (coz it is exactly same I think) fill it and just send it in thru registered mail, which they accepted. In case if they had rejected, my wife would have showed them an official email where in the embassy had stated that it was okay for my wife to print packet 3 off their site and send it in, if she dint receive one in the mail. Ironically, we recieved her packet 4 (appointment letter) at the same home address just fine and within about 2 weeks after we submitted her packet 3 proactively.

Hope this helps. Good Luck.

    Regards.

  13. yeye,

For DCF, you will have to live in India for at least 3 months or so, actually the guidelines at Delhi embassy isn't clear, they only say for a certain amount of time, so most people take it as 3 to 4 months of time, plus you have to take care of another specific, that is you can't be living in India on tourist visa, you should acquire an Entry visa if you wish to go for DCF in the future.

Actually, one can enter India on a "Tourist Visa" and have it reclassify it to the appropriate type of visa thru a local passport or some kind of government office, which will allow you to stay in India for more than six months. I forget exactly how this is done or thru which office but I m almost positive you can. Its like getting a long-term residential permit to stay in India and once thats done, you can do a DCF in New Delhi after 3 months of your stay in India.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards.

  14. Thanks for the info, ELW.

I also got to know through one of my other friend, whose wife was a K-3 visa holder last year and is local to my area, that his wife's AOS packet was transferred from Chicago to local office for the final approval, though he doesn't remember if it came via CSC or not. He thinks it was transferred to CSC from Chicago and then onto local office. Hope this info helps other VJer's too, hence posting it.

TC everyone and good luck.

  15. Hi Neel06... Likewise, great to hear from you again and good luck for the rest of your AOS process...

ELW, as always, thanks for your valuable input. We all appreciate it. I just have a quick question in regards "Most local USCIS offices..." in your post. I am pretty new to this whole AOS process and am currently reading about it but, according to the new AOS guidelines, I mailed our AOS packet to the Chicago Lockbox address. So, by local office, do you mean that after Chicago has processed the AOS packet, they are going to transfer the AOS packet back to my local office for the further processing of it or did you mentioned local office in the context of "old" guidelines, when we had to submit the AOS packet to the local office. I guess I am a bit confused ..lol.

In any case, I guess, my question is, does the Chicago Lockbox office transfer the AOS packet back to the local office or to CSC for the further processing of it?

Thanks, RSA, Parul and good luck to you all too.

    Regards.

  16. Great thread... Please count me in as a April '08 AOS filer.

For the background info, my wife is here in the U.S on a K-3 Visa and I just mailed her AOS packet yesterday.

In regards with the medical, even though she had a copy of DS-3025 with her from the medical in India, we just decided to get a "new" sealed envelope that has a newly filled I-693 in it by a USCIS approved panel physician, mostly to avoid a potential RFE or other complications later. I am not saying that NOT getting a new I-693 will surely have a RFE on your way but I guess I wanted to be little over-prepared than otherwise. I tried getting a straight answer for this by doing some reading but dint get any and dint wanted the medical to delay my wife's AOS process.

Anyways, I just mailed the AOS packet (without the AP) yesterday and will let you know of any progress.

Also, congrats and welcome to all who just recently moved from India and good luck for the rest of the process.

    Regards,

    Pkewl
