This is so frustrating. My wife finally received her IR1 visa after all this time and now we are at the mercy of this CFO counseling that seems to only apply to Philippines. She could be on a plan but instead I am trying to get a response from the CFO on why they are taking so long. We have followed their steps and submitted the requested documents but we have got no reply and it’s been a few days now. UGHHHH

I'm so excited. Our CEAC status finally shows 'issued' (Oct. 22)
Our initial interview was back in Feb. this year.
Denied of course and issued a 221g. (Foreign police clearance, CENOMAR)
Of course COVID happened so my wife couldn't go to the Japanese embassy to pick up her documents once they arrived. In that time of waiting, her medical expired as well as her Philippines NBI police clearance.
This has been a hell ride but it looks like we are almost to the finish line.
Anyone here can predict how long it'll take before she gets the visa in the mail?

If it were me, and Ill soon be in this situation with how long everything is taking, I would also submit your 2019 tax return. My opinion when dealing with any government is that you can never submit too much information.
I would too except, you can't just mail random documents into the embassy. You need an accompanying 221g with that specific requested document marked.

I believe I have a handle on it,but it IS frustrating. When I uploaded to CEAC in 2019.....the last three years of my tax returns were from 2016,17&18. All good...over the minimum. But when she met the interviewer, they stated I needed to have the 2019 returns also. UGH. CEAC accepted all returns and acknowledged that "all documents and financial records have been received".
It states "The financial sponsor can also use assets(NOT JUST INCOME)to meet these requirements. Assets include cash, stocks and bonds, and property. Have $121,000 in checking account and $212,000 in an IRA> INSTANT LIQUIDITY. And the consular/interviewer has all these..Didn't mean a damn thing as they want the 2019 return.
They also want the ORIGINAL DIVORCE DECREE that was signed in the original ink from 1984 from my county recorder in Washington state.. What? They give that up? I had always believed the original always stays with the recorder in the county the event happened in. I had scanned them the exact copy in the long legal form. NO GOOD. I take responsibility for all of this.
Looks like FEDEX or UPS tomorrow for me !
This makes me nervous. My wife's interview was back in Feb. earlier this year. Her interview went well but was not approved and she was issued a 221g requesting additional documents. None of the documents listed were a 2019 tax return (obviously because of the date).
However, now that we were JUST able to submit the other documents listed, I'm fearful they will request that 2019 tax return. What do you think? I would like to just submit it anyway but since it was never requested via a 221g I don't have a way to submit it via 2go courier service. ughhhh

It's important to understand that Consular IV units are not "in a hurry". When more documents are needed, a few weeks delay is common. "Intake" and "review" are separate functions and separate queues. Reviews of documents submitted after an interview, tend to go through at least two levels of review, before a decision is reached. Frustrating as it may be, that's how it works.
Thank you. I will just continue to wait it out.

Thank you for your response.
I’m just concerned because the documents still show as “submitted”. So they still have not even viewed them. It’s unsettling knowing our documents are sitting there but have not received any acknowledgement. -
Has anyone here been able to contact the US embassy in Manila?
We submitted out documents from our 221g through 2go and CEAC but have since been able to get ANY response back from the embassy.

This is in regards to the US embassy in Manila, PH
Is the original I-864/Affidavit of Support/AOS required for the embassy interview or will a photocopy suffice? I'm aware all CIVIL documents must be original, however, I have not seen a checklist that specifically says the financial documents must be original.
Philippines CFO counseling

US passport holder does not need seminar. Yes it’s true some CFO workers will give incorrect information saying they do but it is not true. CFO is STRICTLY for Philippines passport holder who are “emigrated” to another country.
