I'm at a lose for words now and beyond frustrated I've been waiting for the infamous RFE since May 24th when I got the RFE email. As of today I've received NOTHING. Got more touches but no RFE. I've called several times requesting it to be resent and even set and went to an INFOPASS appointment and left there no more knowledgeable than I am now on when the RFE is to arrive. I was told by the agent at the local USCIS office to send a letter requesting it to be resent. I've done that and they have had my letter plus what I think they might be looking for, for 2 weeks now!!! And still nothing. Haven't had anymore touches since May 29th. Short of calling my state rep I just don't know what else to do. I guess we are suppose to just plain wait indefinitely until who ever is working on our case to get their act together...........I just feel helpless

Any USEFUL AND HELPFUL advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, but you need to deal with reality as you are dealing with two governmental agencies...

And??!!???

We are all living with and in the 'reality' of the two governmental agencies......I'm assuming the other is the Postal Service? I know I don't have a problem with getting my mail and that is the point I was trying to make with mentioning the card I received from a friend. Just because it's a reality that the Federal government is extremely slow doesn't make it right. LIKE I SAID I JUST NEEDED TO VENT.

It might feel like a long time but last week was a holiday week... patience.....

Sorry.........the holiday week excuse doesn't jive with me. I have a friend that sent me an happy engagement card on May 26th and I got it on 31st and she lives in FL.......further away from me than Vermont. Like I said it's probably still sitting on the desk.

I have plenty of patience.........if I didn't I wouldn't have been in this kind of relationship. This process is trying the patience I'm TRYING to keep.

I know I might sound impatient but I know it doesn't take mail in the US more than a week to get to where it needs to go. How long does it usually take to get the RFE after the email? It's coming from the VSC which in my opinion is not as fast everyone keeps raving about. I must of, unfortunately, gotten the slow agent at VSC. It's probably still sitting on the desk. I'm sorry I just need to vent.

Your friend is jealous. Let her wallow in her own sorrow. Just ignore what she's got to say. Either, she'll come to accept it or she won't. It's your happiness. Don't let her make you feel otherwise!

I was trying not to go there......LOL......but you're right. She is jealous......everyone has been telling me that and I just didn't want to see it. And yes, I am ignoring her and enjoying the love of my life.

My family, at first, had an issued with my fiance. Now they can't get enough of him! They see how much he loves me and cares for me and know he will take care of me well when he gets here. I do have a friend that has never, to date, come to terms with my relationship. All of my other friends told me that she would be the one that would give me a problem and they were right. I can't dwell on her negativity. It's sad that a supposed close friend can't be happy for you. I have always been happy for my friends when they found the love of their lives. Now that it's my turn it was interesting to see who was REALLY happy for me.

Thank you everyone for your encouragement and advice. I'm really trying to be patient. I have already made another copy of what I sent and now just waiting for the RFE to come in the mail. Hopefully that doesn't take a month like they tell you on the phone.

I'm a newbie to the site but I've had our application in since 4/4/07 for the K-1. We unfortunately just received an email from USCIS that they have sent a RFE out yesterday. Should I be worried? I checked, triple checked the packet before I sent it..........even went over my copies last night to make sure I dotted every 'i' and crossed every 't' but couldn't find anything that would cause them to send an RFE. It is really bothering me and I'm so glad that my fiance is so optimistic. I'm also wondering if those who have fiances in Nigeria get RFE's more than other countries? I just hope this doesn't further delay the process. Whatever they want I will immediately send out to them express/certified mail.
