  1. Hello Everyone

My fiancee had his interview today and was APPROVED!! He has to go back November 6th to pickup his visa. I don't have any details from the interview just yet. I can't wait to hear how it went. He will arrive November 22nd and we have planned our wedding for December 1st. I would like to thank everyone who lent me their listening ears and who were very encouraging to us through our first part of this journey. I know it's not over until he has his 10yr card but right now we are happy and thrilled that we got over this first hurdle.

  2. From someone who actually LIVES in Philadelphia, it isn't that bad. Granted there are certain areas, like in ALL urban big cities, that are not good.....rather bad. In those areas there is a very high drug problem.......which is fueling most of the crimes. I live in one of the many other areas of the city where it's very nice.......Overbrook section....and would recommend it, in a heartbeat, to anyone who wants to move here. Center City and the 'burbs' aren't the only areas in this city where it's safe and nice to live. I work in Center City and by the rate of tourist I see EVERYDAY the crime isn't stopping ANYONE from coming to Philadelphia.

Just had to add my two cents.

  3. Hello Everyone

I was wondering, for those who have SO's in Nigeria, how did you mail them important papers......for the I-134......to them? Was it by registered mail or Express International mail? And how long did the registered mail take to get to them? In about a couple weeks I will be mailing my fiancee the information needed for that form plus other personal things that I really don't want to end up in the wrong hands. I had previously sent cards to him that he never received  . I can only assume that someone thought it was money in it and that's why they never made to him. I would appreciate any advice you can offer. Thank you in advance.

  4. My fiance and I will be dressing traditionally.....in African lace.....for the wedding. The wedding party's color will match the color in our lace but their dresses/tie/hankerchiefs will be traditionally American. As far as the food is concern, I wanted to have some African food incorporated into the feast but when I visited my fiance and cooked for him....my favorite food, Italian......he now loves Italian food and wanted it for our wedding. So we are having our reception at a very good Italian banquet place. But of course we will have shakers of red pepper seeds on our table to spice things up more. :P

  5. Thank you Divine Mercy.......by the way......very cute family picture :) .........for your encouragement. To answer your question the RFE email doesn't tell you anything other than a hard copy letter was sent out supposedly the same day and in the hard copy letter it will tell you what evidence/information they want. When I sent a letter to USCIS over 2 weeks ago I also put with the letter what I think they might be looking for. I just contacted the state reps office so I hope we hear something soon. Thank you again for your encouraging words. May you continue to be blessed.

PS.....being from Philly YOU know our unpredictable weather......LOL.......I don't want my baby to get a cold as soon as he gets here if he has to come during the winter. ;)

  6. Thank you Mrs. Akindel for your very encouraging words. I have been praying incessantly every single day and so has my Tani. That is the only thing that keeps me going through the day, prayer and knowing I have the deep love of my fiance. This has just been a very extremely frustrating process.......one I really was hoping we didn't have to go through but.........we're here and I know we will get through it. We just wanted to marry before wintertime here. Hopefully we can still do so. Thank you again. May you remain blessed. :)
