No, she needed to be a LPR and file taxes 2018/19 either separately or jointly with yourself... maybe next round if there is one

I guess she has already LPR status as her visa says upon endorsement serves as temporary i-551 permanent resident for 1 year. How can she file taxes for 2018 or 2019 when she entered the US in 2020? Isn’t she supposed to file her first tax return next year ?

Yes, you can add her to your insurance.

Question, how is she on medicaid? Immigrants are not allowed to use medicaid upon arrival. Search for public charge rule. It can cause problems later.

I have the insurance on medicaid if i add her with me but not on medicaid but essential plan provided by the state it shouldn’t be a problem right?

    Hi everyone!

I paid my immigrant visa fee on January 24 and still have not received my green card. On my status, it just says that my payment was received, not that my card is being produced or anything, like some of you have posted about. Can I expect to get my green card next month, within the 120 days period, or is the pandemic delaying these procedures even further? What do you think? I really hope to get my green card by mail next month at the latest.

Thank you and good luck to all of you!

How did you login ? Where to find alien number and DOS number since they don’t provide visa packet any more. We kust got the passport with immigrant visa.

This came across my news feed 10 hours ago.....

According to a notification by the Prime Minister's Office, the government has allowed resumption of international flight operations at Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Quetta and Peshawar airports from April 5.

There was another news later on that said flights wont be allowed even after april 5th.

International flights will operate only out of Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad airports.”

Looks like you can get out of another airport maybe. I was able to get a flight out of Karachi still.

    Which airline did you take?

You have 3 weeks still, I would be checking every day for a way to get a flight to the US. If you have 3 weeks, maybe get to a authorized country with flights to the US, do your 14 days there, then fly to the US. Not sure where you are at right now.

Islamabad, Pakistan. All international flights cancelled from Pakistan.

So who here is approved but waiting to receive the actual visa, and not knowing when you'll get it due to the closures of the consulates? (We were supposed to receive ours visa DHL, but there is so much uncertainty.) Just wondering how many people are in the same boat, have you contacted your embassy for an update, etc.

We tried to call our embassy and they say "they have limited staff", and can't give us any other answers.
We were so close, and then this happened.  (Very frustrated.)

I was lucky to get the visa just a day before the consulate was closed and all members of the embassy went back to US.

  7. Hi guys. So i wanna share my experience with you guys. My sis had an interview in November 2019 at US embassy Islamabad and she was approved without any 221g form issued and no additional documents were asked. VO said she will get her visa in 2 weeks But then she was put into Administrative Processing for almost 4 months. Her status update date changed like 6/7 times. On march 3 her ceac status changed to “Refused” which was really panicking but later on we found that it was systemwide change and everyone who was in administrative processing was now showing Refused status. On march 17, 2020 her status changed from Refused to Administrative Processing again and next day visa was issued. So i have come to a conclusion that After the interview “Refused” is new term and once you are cleared you will be put into “Administrative Processing” status for short period of time right before issuance of your visa. Good luck everyone.

    Dear All,

The consulate had emailed me that they have received the documents required for the 211g regarding to my intent of domicile information yesterday. The status check was changed from AP to Refused the same day, please let me know if it's normal?

Thanks and i am feeling very anxious now...

Don’t worry everyone status changed from administrative processing to refused this morning. I think ceac website uses the word refuse instead of administrative processing but everything else is the same.
