father of fiance(e)
future father in law
Thanks very much.
Yes, and the affidavit is executed on behalf of "beneficiary name goes here".Thanks, got it.

My fiance's father will be co-sponsoring us. Question #3 on the I-134 where it asks "This affidavit is executed on behalf of the following person" and then relationship of the co-sponsor to the beneficiary...what should be written there? He's not my FIL yet...so my fiance is unsure what to write there.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

I don't understand the response to the question on the example I-134: "N/A ( K1 visa process for permanent residence )"
Is this the correct response (since I am going through the K1 process now), or is it better to put intend or don't intend ?

Hi Aussies (and lurking Kiwis)!
Whew! *wipes brow*
I FINALLY finished collecting/collating/photocopying/highlighting (you name it, I've done it) all the documents Matt needs from me for our first K1 packet.
I've just mailed it to him 30 minutes ago. It's taken me five days. I've used at least 1,000 sheets of paper! (Not all of them got sent, mind you.)
This visa shenanigans is tiring and expensive, eh?
Worth it, though.

Thanks for the replies, got it correct now.

Have a quick question that my K1 addled brain can't seem to locate anywhere else here....
Question 10 on the I-129F where it asks for the petitioner's birth certificate number, place, and date of issue...further down the page it asks if the petitioner has obtained any certificates of citizenship in their name...we assumed that meant a passport.
Now we're wondering if that certificate of citizenship question is even relevant to the petitioner, since he's already provided his birth certificate details. (And because of the checkbox marked "parent".)
Could someone please clear this up? Thanks.
(Sorry if this is horribly obvious, but my brain is seriously fried after three straight days of preparing everything needed.)

Thank you so much for the (speedy!) replies. I really appreciate it.
I like to know things ahead of time, so I don't have to worry later on.
Thanks again.

My fiance (the petitioner) is currently living in Illinois. We're just wondering how he goes about getting the I-134 notarized once we receive the NOA2? How do you go about finding a notary public to sign the forms?
Thank you.

Hi all,
About ten years ago after finishing high school, I applied for the green card lottery and wound up being one of the lucky people to be selected. Shortly after wining, my mother became seriously ill and I was unable to take it up as I had to stay in Australia and care for her.
I'm now in a relationship with an American. We plan to become engaged at Christmas and apply for the K1 visa.
Does anyone know if my being awarded - but not being able to take up the original visa will harm my chances at being awarded the K1? I'm worried that it will go against me when applying for this new visa.
Thanks.
