  1. Hi, just getting a little anxious. I had my interview in montreal jan 8. Didnt get an approval letter just yet as the interviewer said she’ll look into the files further. She did take my passport. Said i will receive it 3-4weeks.  I’m checking on ceac website. It has last case updated as of jan 15, 2020, however it still states “ready” to schedule for an interview. Wondering if they are really prompt in updating the status on ceac website.

  2. I never knew about checking the ready status in CEAC before, just found out about it today with this website.

Just sharing our timeline, maybe might help to figure out when your P3 might come.

USCIS sent us a letter Oct 10 that they will be sending the files to NVC. We will then receive another mail when NVC have sent the file to the consulate. We received a mail Dec 1st (its dated Nov 22 on the letter). My fiance (US) received it just this weekend and today I (Wpg, Canada) received the P3 in the mail with the approved I-129F form.

Wow. That's the first time I've ever heard of packet 3 going to the petitioner's address in the U.S. instead of the beneficiary's address in Canada. Had you submitted your DS-160 info some time ago? Usually that is what provides them with the beneficiary's email address and confirmation of that person's home mailing address as well.

I just submitted my DS-160 yesterday. I am hoping to receive the packet 4 soon, although I found it online already, but just want to make it all official if I got it from them. I am just now preparing all my documents and having it all photocopied. I have seen on the scheduling appointment that the next early appointment is in January 8, 2020.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

    Thanks

thank you for the information. I have updated my profile aswell.

Usually you will not receive the P3 letter in the mail. Do an online service request. They will respond typically in 2 -3 days with the instruction (P3). You will need to submit D-160 and pay the visa fee, then schedule the medical afterward. Technically, you will need the P3 to complete the medical exam, although some have gotten by with just the interview confirmation. I wouldn't risk it and would just request that they email it to you via: https://vn.usembassy...a-inquiry-form/  When using the form be sure to add in the comments section the last 4 digits of your SSN or they will email you back asking for it which causes further delays.

Here is some information including the Embassy P3 for you to get a head start

I have sent for the P3 (which we received in the mail-more than 2 weeks after). Can I still do an online service request for the P4? How long does it usually take from the time we have emailed the P3 checklist. I am just worried that the appointment times will not be available until february 2020.

** I just also want to check the available times for the appointment, but when I log into appointment site, it asks for VISA CLASS. I dont see a K1 VISA option.

  6. Hi,

I have a question, we just received the Packet 3, and I have done the DS 160 also emailed them of the list. How long does the Packet 4 arrives? Will it also be in the mail (sent to petitioner or applicant)? or will it be emailed?. Although I can see it online now, but it said on packet 3 to wait for that until we can schedule an interview.
