I have filed n400 in Washington DC field office on 27 SEP and still no massage from them. I’m under 319(b) and trying to get my name changed. Is that the reason I still didnt get interview schedule? I called to military hot line once in Feb and they said all I need to do is just wait till they send me the letter. My estimated completion time on uscis says in July and still got nothing. Where can I ask about this? I’m so frustrated.

I am not sure about 319(b) but I had filed my n400 with name change as well, processing times are same - it takes longer to schedule oath ceremony since name changes needs to be done in front of the judge. Virginia's eastern district court(Alexandria Court in my case) does naturalization ceremony every 3rd Thursday of a  month. But due to current Covid-19 shutdown there may be further delays...

  2. Hey guys, so my interview went very well. My interview was scheduled at 1, we got their around 12:45 pm. We checked in and waited about 15-20 minutes and interview officer called our name.

My ROC interview wasn't done prior to my citizenship interview. So me and my husband went together, IO was very nice to us. She did our combo interview. First 10 minutes she did ROC interview, general questions like you guys live together, do you have joint property together, is they a further family plan, etc. Then she ask my husband if he can sit in the back, while she did my N400 interview. She went over the forms first, make sure everything was in order and then we did test. She asked me couple of civics questions - I got first 6 right so she stopped asking further questions. Then she did a quick english test, read a sentence from computer and then write it on their test iPad. Then reviewed the forms further and we were done. She said I passed both the interview but she can't make decision right now because they are still waiting for ROC file, once it's approved I will receive Oath ceremony letter in mail. It may take 10-15 days for Oath Ceremony letter. And by 2 PM we were back in our car.

Some of the questions that I remember from interview:

    1) What is the rule of law?

    2) Name one power that belongs to state?

    3) Who lived in America before the colonist?

    4) Why did colonist fought the British?

    5) When is our independence day?

    6) What did Susan B. Anthony do?

FYI - we took bunch of documents, print outs, originals and copies. She didn't ask for any of it. The only thing she asked for was - Interview Letter, my Green Card, my Passport, drivers license and my husband's drivers license.

Hopefully Oath Ceremony gets scheduled soon, can't wait to be done with this waiting process!!

Hi @kzin. I am also a DC filer September 2019. Can you please let us know when you receive your interview notice and update the sheet on the DC filers group. This info will help many of us to plan and see how long it will take to get the notice. Thanks in advance.

Hey @Sam90210. Hopefully we hear something soon, I have been checking USCIS case status daily for last few days. I noticed most people get their interview scheduled during 160-180 days timeline from filing date. Fingers crossed hopefully will get something soon!!
