  1. Yeah, not sure how it was so quick. We looked at other timelines though and it isn't at all uncommon to get the biometrics scheduled shortly after filing. But today we got another case update that is a request for evidence. So we'll have to wait for that letter to come in and see what that's all about.
  2. 10/5 Submission, text received on the 10th that it was received. My Cases on USCIS shows Oct 6th was officially received, biometrics appointment scheduled on October 13th for a date that we will find out once we receive the letter.
  3. Congratulations, I'm glad your case is moving forward!. My fiancée's officer was an American woman with a southern accent. I believe she said that it looked like most embassy personell were American.
  4. We don't get a packet 3, it's just packet 4 which is essentially the email you get when they give you an interview date and the following email which has some more instructions. And yeah every other step sounds about right. The medical result may either be electronic deliver or they will have you come pick it up. Initially they told my fiancée that it will be electronic, then she waited and it never came through so she called and they said there was a mistake and they had to give her the physical file instead. Lol. Typical Doha.
  5. No not entirely the same. There was a brief period where the status did change to "administrative review", however there was no mention about it being returned to USCIS. And after that it quickly changed to sent to embassy. So just be patient for now, but if it really is being sent back to USCIS, there may have been some kind of administrative error that the NVC found on USCIS's part that needs to be corrected. I've heard that this could cause a 6 month delay.
  6. Oh finally! Congratulations! Not much longer now until August. We have everything ready and she's just about all packed. I've been sprucing up the place as well for when she finally comes home
  7. Thanks so much! We booked flights for August because she wanted to wait until the visa was in her hands to put in her notice at work. And also we didn't want to book flights until we were certain that she has the visa in hand. It works out for us since it gives her time to sort out her moving here. I'm glad you found my review helpful, I hope you can use the information for guidance when you get your interview Yeah just be patient with the NVC stage, it does seem like things started to slow down a bit over there. Just make sure they know to send your case to Doha embassy and hopefully you will avoid additional delays.
  8. Hey everyone I just wanted to update that CEAC has now been updated to approved as of today 21-May-2023. After the interview on the 16th, she was given a "soft" 221g white slip and instructions to provide evidence we've met within the last two years. Yeah I know, something we probably should have compiled with the rest of the documents we prepared for her interview. This one just went right over our heads. Within a day and a half we prepared a three inch thick folder of the requested evidence and she shipped it over. It was received on the 18th and now today the status changed to approved. It's been a crazy ride, still not quite over yet but it feels so good knowing all the hard work we put into this will not go to waste.
  9. Hey! I hope you'll get your case number soon and they send yours to the correct embassy. She just had her interview earlier today, we prepared everything we thought we needed and the interview went very well according to her. The only thing is, they needed more evidence of us having met within the last two years, which is a crucial requirement for K1 and we were so focused on all the other requirements that this one important one flew right over our heads. They gave her the white slip to provide photos, boarding passes or flight bookings as well as chat and call logs. Pretty much the basics. Ugh so dumb that we forgot that. However, the interviewer congratulated her and everything so all we need to do is send the evidence over and she should be approved. I just hope this doesn't cause too much of a delay. When we are all done with the process at Doha embassy, I will post a guide for how it works with a K1 Visa at the Doha embassy. There is so little helpful info for this embassy. Keep me posted on your progress, I want to be able to help you through any issues or questions you might have when your case is at Doha embassy.
  10. We just got our interview date today! It will be for 16-May-2023. We didn't get any kind of packet or instructions, just a link to travel state gov. They said we can use the email as an official appointment letter to use for going to take the medical examination.
  11. Congratulations on the NOA2!!! As far as our case goes, we were able to get our case transferred to Doha Embassy. However, we have not heard back from them since March 26th. The last time they emailed back they said the physical file was still in transit from the manila embassy. Then it seems like the whole department went on vacation or had reduced staff/hours for the whole month of ramadan and eid, so we haven't gotten any updates despite sending about ten emails so far. It's just ridiculous, they should have had our case there about a month ago and it's just sitting there. I'm starting to send emails daily so they get off their butts and do their jobs. For you I would suggest waiting two weeks after your NOA2, then send an inquiry to NVC with those documents attached. Inform them that the applicant will need to take their interview at the Doha embassy. If they don't have the case file yet, send the same inquiry on a twice a week basis with the same attachments. You never know when exactly they'll receive the case and how soon from then they will process and ship it out. So it's better be safe than sorry and have to deal with the headache that we dealt with.
  12. Digital delivery would be ideal, yes. But it seems like countries who are more technologically advanced are the ones who are still sticking with physical mail delivery 😅 I guess we'll have to wait and see.
  13. Hmm okay, the embassy received our case 9 days ago, we emailed them already but no response yet. We're not sure if it's going to be physical or digital document delivery. Receiving physical mail isn't really a thing in her country, as opposed to the US where we get mail every day by the USPS. We're going to send another email tomorrow.
  14. Did you get an email or send an email and was informed that you would receive the instructions via physical mail? Or did the welcome letter just show up one day?
  15. ugh yeah NVC needs to do better at identifying the proper embassy to send it to. They seem to make this mistake a lot. But hey we have our case at the Doha Embassy now!! I'll walk you through everything we did, first we sent an email to the doha embassy, the email you need to contact is ivconsulardoha@state.gov. There was the automated response which stated for case transfer what we need to send. The next day we send another email and we included all those attachments listed, it took them about 10 days to respond to the email, which during that time we sent 4 more emails, either on her behalf or mine. They're still qataris at the end of the day, they just speak english, you know how it is, just have to keep bugging them until they respond. Anyway, after 10 days they respond to the first email we sent, the one where we didn't include any of the attachments. In the email they only asked for her Residency Permit. A few days later, the date on our case was updated on CEAC and a day after that, the letters at the end of the case number changed from MNL to DOH. Indicating that it is now in possession of the Doha Embassy. Here are my tips to you, okay if you want to acquire your national address certificate, I believe she did it through the Metrash app, and had to pay a small fee as well, it is issued by moi. By the way, we did send an email to the embassy it was mistakenly sent to as well and informed them that we are requesting a case transfer from the Doha Embassy and let them know that this request is being made by the applicant. If you haven't started sending emails now, DO IT. They take a while to respond, send an email with what you have, just the residency permit? That's okay, draft up an email, be clear and concise on what you need, which is to take your interview at the doha embassy, include case number and names of both of you, attach the permit and send it on through. Later when you figured out how to download national address certificate, send another email and include that and the residency permit again. I will ask my fiancee when she gets home about how exactly she got the national address certificate and reply back to you. I hope this all helps, if you need clarification or help, let me know.
  16. Hey guys, we are in the process of trying to request a K1 case transfer to the US Embassy in Doha, Qatar from the US Embassy in Manila, Philippines. The issue was that my beneficiaries birth country in The Philippines but she is a resident in Doha, Qatar. We did fill in the form that the designated embassy to be Doha, but NVC assigned it to Manila. They did not reassign it in time before they shipped the case to the embassy. I do understand that we need to contact the embassy which we need the case to be transferred to. So I've emailed the US Embassy in Doha, they have not responded but the automated reply email states that we must submit a residency ID and the scheduled appointment at the current embassy in order to request a transfer. I sent another email with her residency ID, proof of address, and a screenshot of the CEAC status that shows "ready". We do not want to go through the process of filling out the ds160 and scheduling at the wrong embassy. It just seems like that would cause issues. Can anyone who has insight on this sort of situation give us any advice?
  17. CEAC status shows "Ready" as of today 03/March/23 at the embassy in Manila 🤦‍♂️ NVC Case File Creation 17/February/23. Now starting the process of a case transfer to the correct embassy LOL
  18. Ours was also sent to the embassy today, although it's heading to the wrong embassy so now there's that to deal with... We tried to get them to send it to the correct embassy after they requested proof of residency in the country she currently resides in, which we did send sufficient proof. Well it seems like the clowns at NVC decided to ship the petition out anyway to the wrong embassy without resolving the issue of reassigning our case to a different embassy. So now it's headed to her birth country. Gotta figure out the best route to fix this now.
  19. There are a lot of us who also have no idea how any of this works when we begin a new stage of the process. Everyone has their own ways of figuring out what to do next, I'll share with you mine. I read comments, search through different threads, use Google with search terms and visajourney at the end to get results from here. I read more comments, all of the comments. I've noticed many people don't read comments and ask the same question, exactly the same question that someone asked and was answered in the same thread. The PDF is a thing I guess, I think I looked through it at first but most of the useful information was from reading through the comments. You can go to the December thread, November, even October, to see how this process worked out for everyone. That's what I did and I've never felt confused. I do agree though, you gotta nag them to get info. I do remember reading something about sending an inquiry to update emails, but I decided that was not necessary, they'll have your email when you sent the inquiry about whether they've created a case file number yet. As for beneficiaries email and info, we'll just email the embassy when it arrives there.
  20. Through the public inquiry form, maybe you misread, what it means is that if you need to change your address or any other information you would do that via the form. It's not only for that though, any inquiry you have you'd use the form. It is always suggested to use the form in the link, I've never seen anyone say to email directly.
  21. Just an update if anyone was curious what's going on here. Received a response from NVC stating that there was insufficient proof of eligibility due to lack of proof of residency or work visa. So they requested we submit documents like her residency permit or work visa via the inquiry form. She sent me her residency permit, along with work visa and the national address certification so I attached all that to the inquiry form and sent it over. Hopefully that is sufficient for them.
  22. Today I received an email from the NVC after inquiring if they have a case file number. The case number starts with the letters MNL, which my beneficiary is from, but does not currently reside. She resides in Doha, Qatar and the current address that we put on the petition was her address in Doha. So I sent another inquiry stating that she will be needing the case sent to the US embassy in Doha where she currently resides. We're hoping that they get to it in time before it gets shipped out, is there anything else we can do to have the NVC correct the mistake before it gets shipped out? If it does not get caught in time, what is our best option to make sure it gets to the embassy we need it to be at?
  23. Just got an email from NVC this morning with our case number! 38 days from NOA2. It said I will be notified once it's forwarded to the embassy.
  24. I wouldn't sweat about what information a rep that Emma referred to you gives out. They might not even know how to check it, or if there even is such a system. We're done with the USCIS stage, hopefully, and at least for now. Just stick with sending inquiries to NVC directly. I also have NOA2 of 1/16 and I sent a second inquiry on Monday. By the time they respond it would be about 40 days since NOA2. I'll report back here when I hear from them.
