I applied on 12/11/2020, no tracking number. Went to USPS today and they told me they were sent in bulk from Philadelphia, now are in NY and coming back to Philadelphia. They can't provide me with tracking since it's internal. WTH, this is such a mess. 😣

Same thing happened to me. After you apply passport in USPS, they combine few more application in one package and send it to lockbox. This is the reason for not providing the tracking information. However, they know whether it got delivered or not. Please go in-person/ call the USPS office and ask for the updates. I got a call from USPS employee after it got delivered. Goodluck.

    Thank you so much.

I believe this is because of USPS massive backlog.

Below is the update from passport agency after 40 days which is a great news.

The U.S. Department of State has received your application for your passport book on 01/05/2021. We're now reviewing your application and supporting documents.

You requested routine service when you applied, which we are currently processing in 10-12 weeks.

  3. Hello,

I went to USPS in MA on 11/21 to apply for a US passport (regular not expedited) for my wife and me. There were no updates from the passport agency for two weeks. Then I went to the USPS to follow up regarding our US Passport application on 12/02.
Before that, I had called the US Passport service to track the application. They said they did not receive our applications despite our submissions on 11/21. So I went to the USPS and asked about the status. The lady said that something weird has happened with our package. She said the package was sent to Springfield, and then it was sent to the Detroit facility plant Michigan. It was sent to Allen Park, Michigan(apparently put in a wrong container), although it was supposed to go to Philadelphia.

She was also reassured that the packet is not lost and that her supervisor will communicate with the Detroit facility guys. She also said that she would track the packages and see if it's moved to the correct route/container. After one week, she called us and said it reached Philadelphia, and after that, there were no updates.

Still, our passport has not reached the passport agency (worrying about naturalization certificate), and money has not been taken. I know the last ten days were holidays, and USPS is also overwhelmed with packages.

I hope some good news will happen this week.

Could you please advise if I need to do anything?

    Thanks for your valuable guidance.

My 15 years immigration journey is over! I became a US citizen yesterday.

    Thanks to every member here.

    Location: Lawrence office, MA

Arrived 15 minutes prior to appointment at 7:30 a m.

Submitted letter at the counter directed by the security guard.

I waited for approximately 25 minutes, and then the officer called my name.

Raised hand to tell the truth but the truth, went through N400 application form. He then requested a GC and passport. He conducted the civics test followed by reading and writing, which I had passed.

    Civics test:

What does the judicial branch do?

    Who vetoes bills?

Who is in charge of the executive branch?

If both the President and the Vice President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

The idea of self-government is in the first three words of the Constitution. What are these words?

Why did the colonists fight the British?

    Reading:

What is the largest population state?

    Writing:

    California has most people.

Then, the IO asked the meaning of the Oath of allegiance, why do you want to become an American, what visa when I came to the US 15 years ago and my employment details.

It all took almost 25-30 minutes.

Then, the officer approved my application and received my naturalization certificate after 40 minutes.

Everything was done in less than 2 hours.

There was a 10$ (cash) parking right on the side of the building, which was great.

Good luck to everyone that is still waiting!

My interview was 8:30 am- I entered the building 8:15, waited 5 mins and my officer  opened the door and called my name. When I was done I went back to the lobby I signed the oath form and they waited until there was 5 of us so they asked us to enter a room to take the oath. Once done you can ask another applicant to take your photo inside.

be happy that you’re going to Lawrence, very nice people!
    Good luck!

    Thanks for your valuable guidance.

Thanks to every member here. I had a great day today because I just became a US citizen, one day after the presidential election.

I was blessed with an amazing IO. She treated me with care and respect, She started with the civic test which I passed in less than a minute and we had a really nice conversation about different topics. She also shared great information and encouragement for my future here.. She didn’t request any documents or evidence except my green card. She then informed me that I’m taking my oath right away.

I think they can tell when you’re relaxed and being honest. They’re trained for it.

I love the Lawrence field office.

    Good luck

Congratulations! Thanks for sharing your experience. My interview will be in less than in 2 weeks at Lawrence. What time was your interview?

Awesome Congratulations ! I’m happy for you! I finally just received an updated that they scheduled me for an interview. How was your experience in Lawrence? Any tips that might be helpful for me? I was wondering if I should bring more evidence because I applied under the 3 years rule Or if I should bring my spouse? I don’t think she’d be happy waiting 2 hours in the car though.

Great to hear this. I wish you to get both interview and oath on the same day!

  9. Hi, I live in Massachusetts and filed my naturalization application online on 03/07/2020 (I believe my field office is Lawrence, MA, based on the zip code). My biometrics was scheduled on 03/28/2020 in Hartford and got cancelled due to COVID. On 08/07/2020, they have updated my status online, saying they could reuse my biometrics and don't need to go to the ASC office for biometrics. I am waiting for the citizenship interview notification and it may happen in a couple of months and I will update the status. Thanks.

  10. Hi, I got my GC in 04/28/15 and qualify  to apply for the citizenship in April 2020.I believe the USCIS will start processing my file even though if I do the early file on 01/28/20. Is that correct?

My filed office is Lawrence, MA and the processing time is  approximately 6-10 months according to website. Does anyone did the early filing in Lawrence, MA recently?
