  1. Hi,

I sent my I130 for my wife on April 16, 2007. VSC received it on April 17. The check has not cleared, and of course I have not gotten an NOA1. I called this morning, and was told that the wait for the NOA1 for VSC and CSC can be as long as 45 days. The rep said I should call back if after 45 days I have not gotten a NOA1.

seems like me and you are in the same boat. Has your checked cleared yet? if you sent a check. I called them yesteday and they said that if your check has not been cleared most likely your file has been rejected and would have to wait until they sent the file back to see what the problem was. They didnt even have me in there system and they recieved my file on April 14, 2007. I also send it to VSC.

I am not too glad to hear that. I sent a check and it has not cleared. But, they didn't tell me anything about the possibility of the file being rejected. They just said that I should be patient as it can take as much as 45 days for them to receipt the file. I'll keep my fingers crossed and continue to keep tabs on that check.

  2. If you guys have not met in person within the last 2 years there is no point in filing the Visa you will get denied anyway.

As I already told somebody on here, you guys should at least of met in in person before marrige, when I read things like that with ppl getting married before meeting up it does not surprise me that the US has the highest divorce rate.

You guys could look into a tourist Visa, living together for a while and seeing if you are ment to be together,I understand the religious beliefs but it makes no differance if I am katholic moslem or believe in the holy cow...meet up and see what kind of dude he is.

Are you saying that the high divorce rate in the US is because of arranged marriage? Wha? Arranged marriage in the US is the most uncommon type of marriage, and the divorce rate is high despite this fact. The divorce rates in India among people who practice the tradition of arranged marriage are waaaay lower.

But yes, getting back to the original topic, a waiver of the meeting requirement is just about impossible to get. Financial hardship will definitely not do, and convincing CIS that your culture indeeds prohibits a meeting will not be easy.
