    Interview scheduled today for July 20th, based on military filing.

    Field office: Baltimore MD.
    I arrived around 8:30 am for my 9 am interview but wasn't called in till 9:30. The interview was pretty straightforward, the interviewer only asked for my state ID, military ID and green card. Then he proceeded to asking about the civics question, it was almost like a conversation and not even a quiz.
    After passing the 6 questions requirement, He told me to read "who was Abraham Lincoln" from the tablet and told me to write some phrase down. After that, he switched to asking Yes/No questions.
    I was then told I passed but and he was going to schedule me for an oath. He tried scheduling me for an oath but the ceremony day was when i'm going to military boot camp. The interviewer asked if I could make it and I told him no since i'm required to travel a day before. I was told it was above his pay grade to make change to the oath ceremony day and I should go back out to the main room so he could talk to his supervisor.
    A few minutes later he came out and called me in back and told me he was able to schedule me for same day oath! yay. The oath ceremony was very memorable and a great experience.
    Good luck to everyone out there waiting for their interviews. If anyone wants to know more feel free to ask.

    not sure how u are able to apply for N400 based on military service when u are just going to boot camp when the following is required to apply

    • Have served honorably at any time in the U.S. armed forces for a period or periods totaling at least 1 year;

    https://www.uscis.gov/military/naturalization-through-military-service#:~:text=One Year of Military Service,not apply or are reduced

    I dont think that rule applies anymore, I went based off this thread

    I may be mistaken, it's been 10 years for us, but don't you have to wait to submit the N400 based on military service until after already going to Basic Training? I know some are able to get it accomplished at Basic Training, while others have to wait until right after completing Basic. We ended up having to wait until she came back from Basic, because they never did it for her while there. They even had a special oath ceremony for us and an entire group of military who weren't able to naturalize at Basic.

    Im in the national guard, so first say of service is when you swear in, we have something called RSP which is done monthly, so a colonel signed my N426 when I went to the base for my first RSP drill.

    Hello, I just submitted my application also April 21, 2022. I applied based on military basis though and will be going to boot camp in august and wont be back till December, Hope everything gets done by then because I don't want to be called to interview while in military training🙏🏽

    Just got an RFE today (military filing).

  5. Hello, how's everyone's day going? I submitted N400 recently based on military basis, I will be going to military bootcamp around early august and won't be back till late December, what would happen if I'm scheduled for interview while still in bootcamp? Has anyone ever come across this situation? Thanks and have a great day
