Wishing all of you the best of luck on your boxes and hearts!
Thanks!

OMG this place is hilarious. I was feeling down and in a funk and I started reading this thread....and now I'm shamelessly posting to be a blue bar #######.

Yeah, a friend of ours who is American moved to Holland and got married to a Dutch man. She had to take Dutch classes and reach a certain level before being legally able to work, yet most people speak English at her company....

Do you think it's necessary/helpful to include a picture of he and I with my kids or he and I with his family if we have them?
-
I downloaded mine from the USCIS website and when I filled in information on page one it automatically copied to the other pages. Then, like a doofus, I wasn't finished and couldn't save the changes, but it was nice to know that feature is available.

I'll add to that:

Good luck to both of you!
I'm glad I ran across this topic, because we are planning on P visiting me after we file the petition. I am wondering, will it matter if he's here visiting when I file the K1 application? I mean, he'll have a return ticket and have a date for registering his thesis at the uni, so I think if there were any problems, he'd be able to show proof.

This is a great topic!
I was worried about him meeting the kids but mostly because he's the first guy I dated since I got divorced. He came at Christmas, though we met last April, in Germany and "officially" started dating (because, you know, you can date someone 5000 miles away!) in August. That first meeting was bumpy. My son is 15, and very protective of his mom too, but I made the mistake of not really preparing them in advance. I always referred to P as "my friend" because I wasn't sure what we would do if he and the kids didn't work. As much as I love him, they have to come first. I thought it best not to upset them unnecessarily. Anyway, Christmas was bumpy but he made it clear too that he wasn't trying to take their dad's place and they eased into it.
It was easier this time around. He was here for a month and neither of my kids wanted him to leave! My son is thrilled that he'll be moving here, and my daughter is happy because she really likes him but hasn't fully adjusted to the idea yet. Of course, her dad also has a new girlfriend, so it's big adjustments all around. This is one time where I think it's ok that we have a long process (not too long I hope!) until he gets here, because it gives her more time to get used to the idea.
In the end I think if your kids know that this person loves you and treats you with respect and makes you happy, they'll love him too. Finding ways to help them bond is a great idea.
I'm positive now, but that could change when he gets here permanently!

Congratulations on your successful interview!
Glad to know Seattle is nice and relatively painless, as we'll eventually be going through there too.

7. I like cookies.
Me too. As for everything else...I'm an English teacher and I spell things wrong all the time! I'm here to read guides and also have some virtual support from others going through this process. So far so good.

From all those steroids- she probably has to shave her face everyday and has to tuck in her growing #######.
Ok, this has been a grade A ####### day, but now that I read this post.....
The tears are tears of joy.

Wow! Congratulations. This gives us all hope :-)

Congrats and thanks for the story.
How awesome that you and your sister are marrying best friends!

Welcome welcome. I am quite enjoying reading everyone's stories. It helps me not be sad about being 5000 miles away from my sweetie!

Yeah, because NSC doesn't process applications for I-129f, and they forward all applications to CSC. We filed ours in January and already received NOA1, but no more touches since then. We're hoping to get NOA2 by this month
Nebraska doesn't process the applications? I'm confused, sorry, but I'm so new to this....

I really like reading people's happy news. Congratulations!

Til Schweiger
Um...Yum.
My crush is Robbie Williams ... and of course, by Robbie Williams, I mean "my boyfriend."

Thanks everyone. I find the reading interesting. Most of my questions thus far have been answered just by searching and reading the forums. But I am sure that will change as soon as the paperwork is filed and the questions begin...or maybe before!

Hi all,
I am a USC and my fiance is a German citizen. We haven't filed our K1 paperwork yet, as he still has a semester of grad school and then his thesis left, but we found our way to this site and I figure it's not too early to start getting the lay of the land. We plan on filing the paperwork in August or September.
I have a million questions, but I'm slowly getting some of them answered just by reading other sections of the boards.
