  1. Sounds good! We are filling out the form again now and will bring it with to the interview on Friday. Thanks a lot!
  2. I got a call from the US embassy today for an interview on September 4, this Friday! We are so excited since our original interview was cancelled in July due to Covid - one month later we finally got the interview appointment again We have a question on bringing the original I-864 to the interview : we could not find our original I-864 file nor did we make any copy before we submitted it to NVC. What should we do? Should I print out a new form and fill it out again? What date should I put on the form? And should I tell them we lost the original form? We'd really appreciate some wisdom. Thanks everyone!
  3. No, they are not sure since they will have to wait till the covid situation is back to "safe level"?
  4. Thanks for the screenshot. I sent a request to join the group on fb May 13, 2020
  5. Anyone got their interview cancelled because of the third wave of Covid here in HK? Mine (July 29) got cancelled :(
  6. Got DQ today!!!! Finally. PD: July 22 2019 Documents submitted (first submission): Feb 16 2020 (might be one the oldest cases here---hold on to hope Feb submissions!) DQ: May 13 2020
  7. Thank you so much for the thorough response! We will do that. Really appreciated.
  8. Hi all. I've spent a lot of time searching for answers for these questions, but haven't been able to find them in past topics. I have some questions for anyone that has been through the IR1/CR1 NVC process requiring a Hong Kong police certificate. Unlike most police certificates, Hong Kong says that they mail it directly to the consulate/NVC for you. Therefore, what should we include for this part when submitting our IV application/civil documents on CEAC? Just our receipt from the HK Police? Will NVC know to not expect our HK police certificate to be attached? Or do we need to mention it? Additionally, in order to receive a HK Police Certificate, the website (https://hk.usconsulate.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/related-information/police-clearances-hk-mo/) says the applicant needs "the original and a photocopy (for each applicant) of the letter from NVC which contains his/her name and the checklist of documents necessary for obtaining a visa (the one that references the need for police certificates)" Is the NOA2 and NVC welcome letter good enough to meet this requirement, or is another, more specific letter from NVC required? Thanks in advance. Best, Smoothsailing
  9. Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I think that's right. Could somebody update this part of the VJ NVC Guide? (https://www.visajourney.com/wiki/nvc_process/) I found it to be a bit confusing trying to use that as the official NVC guide/bible as people here recommend but then it talking about manila envelopes, etc: Thank you! -Smoothsailing
  10. Just wanting to confirm something super basic.. there is no more mailing NVC forms or documents correct? It seems like everything is electronically submitted on the CEAC site for mostly everybody.. is that correct?
  11. Just got approved... 7/22 PD, Texas Service Center, 1/15/2020 NOA2. Good luck to everyone!
