Why? Because you don’t want to wait in the queue of those who were DQd before you? Nope.
Lol

I’m scheduled for my oath ceremony in about three weeks but my spouse is asking for a divorce. Will it affect my oath ceremony? Please help
No unless you get div before your oath which is less likely.

Do you have an expedite reason? You should consider sending a letter to NVC if you have one. That’s what we did! The wait is crazy, hang in there!
How long did it take to get your expedited?

Legal presence has to be longer term, to be allowed to interview for an immigrant visa at Montreal. So a visitor visa will not work, but a student permit will.
Thank you for the info

Thanks for the info, are you saying a student visa would work?

*** Moved from Bringing Family of USC forum to IR1/CR1 Process & Procedures, where topics about I-130 for spouse of USC are discussed ***
Your spouse beneficiary studying in Canada will have no negative impact on the processing of your I-130 petition for him. It might turn out to be better for him to be residing in Canada when it comes time to apply for his spouse visa as the wait time for interview in Montreal is currently shorter than that for the consulate in Lagos.
Are you saying he can get a us visa interview if he has legal presence in Canada? Like a visa?

But I saw someone on Nairaland who was DQ on Dec 31st 2021, and did his interview First week of August. How come. Kind of Confused.
I also heard that an I-130 approval that stayed long with USCIS before being approved were given interview Date faster, if the petitioner is a USC, and Beneficiary is the Spouse. How true is this story ?
Is this person Nigerian? That is super fast, my case was dq couple of months ago so fingers crossed.

Hello everyone, creating this thread so we can be up to date on where the Lagos consulate is as regards interviews.
As it is, they now send interview letters (IL) on the last Wednesdays of every month for IR/CR categories.
A new batch was sent today being the last Wednesday of the month for people documentarily qualified (dq’ed) june and july 2021. The latest case was july 28
Thanks for the update, the wait is killing…

Does anyone know if you have to pay a fee to get through the gate to get into the Embassy for the interview for Lagos Nigeria Embassy? I'm being told it's around $280.00. Is that true? It is a Nigerian fee to go through the gate.
Help!?!?
Thank you so much.
Scam! Don’t pay anything to anyone.

Did not work for OP. From this thread it seems like it is 50/50... it will work within a month of filing or it won't change anything...
I guess so, I did mine simultaneously.

Hello all,
I am a US citizen and I have already filed an I-130 for my foreign spouse (NOA - 12/08/2021) at the TSC. The current processing times indicate 10-14months of wait time before my spouse can join me in the US. As I was looking through the forums, I did the see the option of filing the I-129F as well for perhaps a faster entry of my spouse into the US (current processing times indicate 3.5-7months). However, the USCIS website (https://www.uscis.gov/family/family-of-us-citizens/k-3k-4-nonimmigrant-visas) indicates that the need for a K3 visa is rare as the I-130 is processed faster. So, I am in a bit of conundrum as to whether I need to file I-129F or just wait for my I-130 to be adjudicated. Greatly appreciate any feedback you all can share!
Yes! It will help you. I got approved a week after submitting mine.

IR2
Child under 18 and will become a citizenship once in the US since mother is naturalized.
The question is, on the the first page of i864W, question #10 states "U.S. Social Security Number (Required)"
Child does not have a US SSN and I cannot put N/A since it says required, what do I do?
This is the most up to date form on the USCIS website.
How did you submit this?

Hey we are still waiting for it to be reviewed. We uploaded it March 26th.
We just printed out the I-864w, filled it out, signed in ink then scanned it back on to the computer and uploaded it. From what I can find, we didn’t need to upload anything along with it so fingers crossed we will get DQ on our sons case next weekI will let you know.
sorry about your RFE. It is such a bummer. They could easily just let you bring the I-864W to the interview rather than make you wait 2.5 months to review it again!
It sucks! Did you upload or mail it via email to them? It sucks that they don’t specify in the requirements. I submitted for my wife too and her is DQ already.

Hi there,
Seeing as your post was a while ago now.. what did you file alongside the I-864W ?
We filed the I-864 for our son only to get a RFE that said we must file the I-864W. There doesn’t appear to be anything we need to upload with it but just wanted to make sure.I got same thing for my daughter today, how did you submit yours?

Yes. Surname first and given names. On my passport the name order is Alabi(Surname) Given names: Abiola George
My attestation of birth the name order is just Alabi George Abiola (No indication of first Surname, first name or middle name).
The name order on my passport is different from the one on my attestation of birth.
It shouldn’t be a problem

Please I am just wondering if sponsoring spouse a US citizen for I -130 with crimial records of assult on officer, assult on girlfriend and theft can file for a spouse already in the United States. With the US citizen the petitioner I -130 will be denied based on the past criminal records?
Possibly.

I have an interview date scheduled (Adjustment of Status from K1 Visa). I know USCIS accepts the Medical done overseas within 1 year but my overseas medical was done (March 2021) and my interview is (May 2022). Do I need to submit the i693 form ? I have a copy of the DS-3025 but I was told during my medicals that I may need to take more vaccines when I get to the US but I am not certain what needs to be done if anything . I would appreciate some advice.
Congrats, how long did you have to wait?

You should meet before your interview otherwise your chances of approval will be low.
