  1. It is not required, if your fiance has all the papers in order everything will be fine. The consulate is very picky here just ask to your SO bring all the papers and try do not get the nervous that day.

    Good Luck

For Dominican Republic they do require the USC to be present at the interview, if the USC is not present the visa will be denied.

  2. Hello Everyone,

So now I am so stressed out. My fiance went to his interview today, he was told that he paperwork was all in order but they told him that I need to be there. So now I have to go to Dom. Rep. This is all too crazy.

Wow so sorry to heard that, but you have to go to the cita it even tells you on the interview letter, Do you have an open cita? How long you waited for the whole process to end? Just go and get your fiance don't wait to long also bring proof as of what you did not go to the interview in the first place. Good luck.

  3. My fiance and I applied for a K1 because based on the information we were given at the time and information on various forums we were under the impression that it was MUCH quicker to do a Fiance Visa instead of getting married. We sacrificed and waiting because of course what's most important to us is that we are together as soon as possible.

We have been on the waiting list now since May 2006 and it is now October 2007 and we are still on that LLLLLOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG waiting list. We now feel that perhaps if we had gotten married we probably would have been together by now. Also, we are now wondering if it is harder to get an approval for a K1 than for a K3.

At the same time we sacrificed not getting married and basically put our lives on hold for this process and are now afraid to make any changes in our lives for fear of prolonging or jeopardizing our case.

We are wondering if we shoulg get married now and if we do how this will affect our K1.

Any information you can share with me will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

What number are you on the list? because like that you could calculate when you will get the appt, also have all your paper work ready.

As of the 9/30/07 list I'm in the 6,000 but I imagine that number will be lowered when the October 30, 2007 list comes out. You figure at 1,200 cases per month perhaps I'll be at four thousand and change???

You have about 5 more months to get your interview.

Hello, but why are you doing the K3 now if you are almost getting you cita. you been in the waiting list for 17 months you just have at least 5 more months to get you appt interview, congratulations you almost there, for the k1 and k3 is the same waiting time they all go to the waiting list

  6. Yocasta - instead of being so angry why not submit your question to the Consul via DTTUSA about what the procedure will be when appts are scheduled through the NVC. BTW - It's illegal to impersonate a government official so I would take it easy with those false accusations.

He is right, Yocasta why don't you take a look at the official consulate website http://www.usemb.gov.do/Consular/consular_officers-e.htm, there you will see that Mr. Bent is NO " make believe".

I know that he exist, because his name is listed on the dominican consulate webpage Mr: William Bent, but come on he dosen't have time for this and without getting anything in return. Also most of this questions and answers are very sencillas y toda persona k tiene conocimiento sobre immigracion ya sabe esto. Mira mi primo toca con el torito y el esta saliendo con una consul yo le voy a decir k me averigue.

  7. You have 4 of these posts. I answered you on one of your other threads.

It was only 2 times because the first one was not clear. Also remember this is not your website DOMINICANTOUSA where you treat members like SHT. That's why almost everybody is going to the new site where they have respect. Stop making up story like the one with Bent you and everybody knows that he dosen't exist instead start getting ready for your retirement. OLD OLD OLD. (L)

Sounds like a case of sour grapes to me.

I have indeed personally spoken to Chief Consul Bent on the telephone. Let me assure you he is a real person. If you choose not to benefit from advice directly from the Consulate, that is your choice of course.

    Oh just FYI,

  8. Good Morning

I just called the NVC automated system and it stated they received my DS-3032 on May 31. It also states it take about 4-6 weeks to process.. is this true? Now that I sent the DS-3032 is it useless to send an email (choice of AOS) to speed up the process? Any info is greatly appreciated. thx!

On May 14 my DS3032 and AOS fee bill were genarated and on 05/15/07 I sent an E-mail to select the choice of agent DS3032. 05/18/07 I received an E-mail from NVC that they approved it. On 05/21/07 IV DS230 fee bill was genarated. I don't think that it will take that long as soon as they received the DS3032 they will send you the IV DS230 fee bill. Hope this help.

Another thing I heard before that all the forms from NVC were genarated on a Tuesday but both of my forms were genarated on a Monday and mailed to me by NVC on a friday because I checked the mail stamp and I had received it the following week on a monday it took 3 days for me to get it on the mail.

Maybe your IV DS230 fee bill will be genarated on 06/04/07.

  10. I cld and was told my case was recv'd on 5/21. The rep told me the case # can be assigned anywhere up to 90 days.

Hello, that is what they told when I called to find out about my case# too, and then the next day I called again and I got it, I think that rep give that infomation just to safe their back, maybe by tuesday you should have your case#, good luck...

  11. There have been no appointments officially scheduled by the NVC for the Dominican Republic yet and there probably won't be until the waiting list is cleared. We have no idea of what the procedure will be.

Thank you.. but if NVC doesn't know how the procedure will be why are you assuming that NVC won't be giving appt until the waiting list is clear. So why the new implemantation? This is mean that now NVC will be keeping files in a draw for 2 years. Because to get an appt from D.R. there is a waiting time of 12-24 months. Do you work for NVC? NVC doesn't keep files that long. I will be holding tight and waiting until my time comes to get my appt 12-18 months.

  12. :help: :help: :help:

On 05/21/07 I received the fee bill for the AOS and mailed on 05/22/07. Today I called NVC and they told me that the bill for the DS230 was generared and it will be mail to me. now I 'm confused because I thought that the DS230 bill was going to be generared and sent to me after I mailed the affidavit of support , is this is correct?.

  13. Hello, today I received the AOS fee bill on the mail and the DS3032 but my husband already sent the E-mail regarding the DS3032 and it was approved. I will buy the money order tomorrow and send it to NVC. I'm getting there. I'm excited regardless of the waiting time that I have to wait to get an interview appt from the Dominican Republic embassy. 12-24 months not fear..... :crying:

  14. Hello, today I receive an email from NVC and they accept the Email that my husband sent regarding the choice of agent, I used JAMES short cut. On MAY14,2007 they told me that NVC had sent me the AOS and the DS3032 and I haven't received anything yet how long does it take until I get it, is been 7 days already..... I'm getting there...

They have "sent" my AOS about two weeks ago and I still haven't received anything. I have seen people on this forum who say that it takes about two weeks after it was generated to receive the forms. It is likely that the forms were generated the day they told you that they were sent. It takes few days after it is generated for them to send it out.

    Thank you...
