Technically it could happen but I don't get why you are paranoid about this happening unless you know someone is actively trying to get revenge on you. The other person has nothing to gain by doing this.

In the country where I migrated from because of persecution my community faced lots of issue like thats. That why I was thinking bout it.

What do you mean, "SSN is confidential"? For the purposes of work, it is perfectly fine to give an employer your SSN. And why would anyone fraudulently file I-407 by pretending to be you?? You have to send in the physical green card when you file I-407 anyway. Nobody can do anything with just a photocopy of the green card.

On the form it says are you sending the copy of GC or you lost. I thought someone can check the box lost the GC. Today I called USCIS as well to check with them but they have computer and don't allow to talk to any agent.

  3. If someone gets a copy of my Green can he/she file form i-407 fraudulently  without my consent? Will USCIS check that form i-407 was actually filed by the LPR and is not a fraud to trap someone?

Recruiter asked me about my SSN to verify my eligibility to work I asked I can give Green Card as SSN is confidential. But now I saw on internet that form i-407 can be filed to abandoned LPR status. I am worried if someone gets copy of my GC he/she can file form i-407 as GC has all the information that are requested in form I-407.

Mine Case was transferred to VSC from CSC in Feb 2020. My PD is August 16. I did not receive nay notice about transfer. When I changed my address I received email from VSC that your address has been update.

I seem VSC is the slowest Service center.

    1. You have it slightly confused, what you have to do is file as a resident. Filing as a non-resident
is what can lose you your green card.

    2. As above, you can’t file as single if you’re married. You can file as married filing separately if you want.

Can I claim my spouse as Non resident NRA on my tax return and file MFS. Would it be considered I am filing non as non resident?

  6. Hi all

I just created online spreadsheet for LPR who submitted I130 for Spouses here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KsBcID5fvbKZklNtslfrp7dy8NbgmWXyPcwreFuSng4/edit?usp=sharing

Please update your information so we can see easily how Serve centers are processing the cases.

Anyone can edit the sheet and add his or her information.

Please let me know if you have any issue.

  7. Hi all

Any LPR who filed after August 2019 got any update or approval ?

I filed my case to Chicago Center and received letter and case no from California  I saw a status change in Feb 2020.

When I file change of address form I receive confirmation email from Vermont. But I did not receive any note to transfer of my my case to Vermont but I think my case was transferred to Vermont.

If i dont get response by July or August i will file "outside of processing time" because right now Texas center is doing Octobet 16 cases and if i dont get response by July or August i will call USCIS and file claim

I don't think their online processing information is correct.

In Potomac Service center as per USCIS website Estimated time for LPR filing for Spouse is 1 week to 7 month and for citizen 7 to 9 months.

  9. As per USCIS website https://www.uscis.gov/workload-transfers in 2020 cases were transferred from California Service center to different Service center. Mine was transferred to Vermont which is slower than California.  I know that it was transferred to Vermont because I submitted change of address form to USCIS and I received confirmation email from Vermont Service center
