I checked online for my case status because just getting 2 emails for my son and not for me seemed a little off, but hey, that's USCIS for ya. Anyways, it says I was approved as well. I won't do a happy dance until I have the card in my hand lol.
W8INGLONGTIME:As hard as it is, try to not think so much about it. That's what I finally did about a week before I posted that I haven't heard anything. It's like waiting for toast to cook. If ya just stand there, it takes forever. Keep your hopes up high though. You will hear something soon.

Oh hey....
It worked! I got my email notification saying card production ordered. It is for my son but hey, it's one of them lol.

Congrats to all who got approved already. I'm still one of the last ones left. I figured I'd just say something because I have seen before, people worrying about not getting approved yet, then a few days later they get the email saying their case was approved. So I thought I'd give it a try lol.

I used the ACCO fasteners. For the pictures, I made an 8x10 collage print on the Walgreens website. I was able to put 8-10 pictures on each collage. I had 4 pages of pictures and I put captions at the bottom. I used the ACCO fasteners at the tops of each page, that way they could read what each caption said for the pictures. Sorry I didn't take any pictures of what my package looked like before I sent it but I hope this helps.

I think 300 pages is a bit over an overkill. I don't remember how many pages I sent, but I believe it was under 100 pages so you should be fine.

Seriously, is everyone skiing in Vermont?!
Been wondering the same thing Liz

We are going to be applying to remove my conditional Nov 2010. I wanted to know if they ask for Affadavit of Support Form as well. I saw that someone submitted one with there package on there timeline. Wanted to know why? All I read was that we only had to send the Form to Remove Conditional, Proof we are still married, Copy of my Green Card, and the fee. I see that in most timelines it takes 5 months to recieve the new card in the mail. But if we have to submit all this 90 days before our 2 year anniversary my green card would be expired before I recieve my new one. So what do I do about that? Do we have to submit another Biometric?
Thanks for your help
Yasser
You don't need the affidavit of support form again. If you have any evidence such as utility bills, car insurance, life insurance, credit cards, joint bank account statements, lease/rent, cable bills, etc with both names, or showing the same address, also affidavits from friends family. You will get an extension letter before your biometrics and it is good for a year. So you will have to get another biometrics done. I hope this helps. If I forgot something, someone will mention it.
-
My son is 6 years old and he had to have his biometrics done. As far as what I have read and asked on here, all children need them done. When I was at the biometrics appointment there was another couple there with their 4 or 5 year old and he was having his done too. I don't know what visa they were going for but the child needed his biometrics done as well. I would print out everything you can on the USCIS website about children and biometrics and see if you can get another infopass appointment and speak to someone else. I know how frustrating it is to have to go back there, believe me, but if your step-daughter needs the biometrics done, you do everything you can to get it done. That way, as you said, you didn't just abandoned the card process. I hope this helps.

I had the same problem with a few things. I live in my MIL's house and all the utilities are in her name, we have no health insurance, let alone any money for trips and stuff. What I did was get my MIL to write out an affidavit for us stating she owns the house, the utilities are in her name, plus all the extra stuff she put down stating she was present for our wedding, etc. You seem to have a good list of evidence. The cover letter is also a good idea. Gives them a list of what is in your package.
-
I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but I tried to check my status on the USCIS website and it says my receipt number is not valid. Now my son's receipt number went through fine and says it's in initial review. So how come my number isn't working? I triple checked to make sure I put it in right and I did, so what's the deal?
OK, nevermind. I think I figured out why it wasn't working. I used the receipt number off my biometrics letter instead and that worked. I don't know why the numbers are different, but they are.

You guys have me worried now! I never thought about putting my A # on every piece of evidence, it is on my cover letter, cheque and of course the I-751 form (and the copy of my card is there too) but never thought about putting it on the rest of the stuff....I should have though because I put my case # on everything on the original visa package two years ago. I wish I had seen this post before I sent off my package on Friday...oh well I hope nothing goes astray.
I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. I have a bad case of OCD. My husband can contest to that lol. I tend to over think things and go over board sometimes. I guess when you have had bad luck in the past with many things because of such a small mistake, you triple check everything before you do it. Like I said, I'm sure you will be fine.

No problem. It's the small things we fret over, yet it can be the small things we can forget that can possibly get us an RFE and make our stress levels sky rocket!

I put my A# on all the pages I sent. I didn't want there to be any reason for a page to somehow go missing and there not being any A# on the page.

Everyone has a different experience. I just went in Thursday to the office in Atlanta, but I had my appointment letter. I had my son with me too(he needed his bio done as well) but his appointment was for the 26th. They took my son in with me. The officer at the door was asking everyone for their appointment letters before he would let them in. So it is up to your wife if she wants to try and take a chance of getting in or not with no appointment letter.
-
I also filed for me and my son and I got the biometrics letters on different dates. Also the appointment dates are different too. You can try calling them and see where the other letter is. Also see if you can have all biometrics appointments done on the same day. When I called about me and my son's appointments being on different dates and having them done the same day, all they would tell me is it is up to the office you go to and whether or not they are busy and can take my son the same day.
-
I called the number on the bio letter and finally was able to talk to someone. He said he couldn't do anything for me over the phone and to just bring my son with me to my appointment(which is at 1pm) and they will let me know when I get there if they will take my son early or not. Depends on how busy they are I guess. Hopefully he will get his done same day. I'd hate to have to go back for 9am 4 days later. Atlanta traffic sucks early in the morning. Thanks for your help!

I asked on here the other day about my son needing a bio done again(he's 6 yrs old) and come to find out he does. I just got a letter in the mail today and his appointment is on 4/26 and mine is 4/22. Can I just bring him with me on the 22nd and his letter and ask them if they would give him an early bio? I thought kids under 14 didn't need to have this done again. Anyone know?

I've already sent my I-751 in but I thought this might help a few people who are starting this process. Walgreens has a sale going on for those who don't know. Heck I didn't know it until I got an email from them today! Their collage prints are 80% off!!!(TODAY ONLY) Tomorrow deals are free 8x10. When I got my pics together for the I-751 I used collage prints. Easier to put a bunch of pics on one sheet. I paid full price, but non the less, Walgreens is pretty cheap. If you prefer the standard 4x6 prints, they are forever having a sale on those. I hope this helps anyone.

I got my biometrics appointment letter. It is for 4/22/10. Can someone update this for me please?!
One quick question though. Does my son have to go for this too? He is 6 years old. I got a "receipt notice"(received $80 for biometrics) with his name on it today as well. I'm sure I read here on VJ that kids under 14 don't need to go. Just want to make sure. Thanks for any help.

I finally got my NOA1 today. It is dated for March 29th. Can someone please update the list. Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem. I sent my pkg in on the 23rd. USCIS received it on the 26th (checked USPS site) and USCIS has yet to cash my check. I check my bank everyday. I haven't gotten a letter or nothing from them yet. I see so many people receiving something from USCIS within days. Am I just paranoid? You would think they would cash my check as soon as they get it.

Hi, could someone add me to the Vermont list. I'm sending out mine today!
-
Ok I have looked everywhere and cannot find what I'm looking for. I'm assembling my package to send out Tuesday and I wanted to know where do I place the check(payment) in the pkg? Can I just put the check in a separate envelope marked "payment" and use a paper clip to attach it to the front of my pkg or attach the envelope to the ACCO fastener on top? Thanks for any help!

I'm getting all my papers together for my ROC and I just want to make sure I have enough evidence. So here is what I got:
-Cover letter
-Payment($545 + $80 K-2 child)
-Form I-751
-Copy of mine and son's GC front and back
-Copy of mine, son's and husbands SSN
-Copy of mine and husbands driver's license's
-Copy of rental agreement
-Copy of joint credit cards
-Letter from Capital One and Chase credit card company stating who is on the account
-Letter from bank stating me and my husband have a joint checking account
-Letter from bank stating my husband and son have a joint minor's saving account
-Copies of a few bank statements(joint checking account)
-Tax transcripts from 08 and 09(married filed jointly)
-Copy of auto insurance change in policy(with me added and new car added)
-Copy of auto insurance policy card(mine and husbands name on policy card)
-Copy of birth certificate of our son born November 08
-Original affidavits from 2 friends(signed, stamped from notary)
-Original affidavit from mother in law
-Copy of receipt from hotel from when we went to Savannah for our honeymoon
-Numerous pictures from Nov 07 to March 10
I hope this is enough. We live with my mother in law and she owns the house. All the bills(utilities) are in her name. There are a few bills in my husbands name(cell phone, land line phone, car insurance) but she gets them paid and then throws the bills out after they are paid. I have in her affidavit though that all the bills are in her name. My husband has lived at this same address his entire life, so I hope I don't get no RFE for not enough evidence. I was wondering though if I should send in a copy of my son's immunization from the health dept. He needed to get more vaccinations to be enrolled in school and I have a letter stamped and signed from the health dept. Do I need it? Also I have a letter from Kaiser when I got pregnant stating I was pregnant. It is also signed and dated. We don't have any health insurance anymore because my husband lost his job, so I don't have anything for that. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I got mine and my son's cards in the mail today. They came pretty quick. Good luck to all who are still waiting and congrats to the ones who recently got approved.
