  1. My mother in law is In the US after just receiving US residency. She is from Honduras and when she received her approval of residency, the US embassy in Honduras placed a US Visa valid for 6 months and upon arrival here, she received her I-155 stamp showing her proof of residency. We Are traveling to Mexico in a few weeks for one week vacation and want her with us. I’ve called a few Mexican embassies in the US and have gotten mixed answers as to whether she can enter Mexico with her valued US visa and residency stamp in her passport. Since Honduras is one of the countries that require a Mexican visa to visit I have concern. However when I read thru regulations on the embassy site it states anyone with a valid US visa does not require a Mexican travel visa. I spoke with someone in the Mexican embassy in Boston and emailed an actual photo of her documents and he responded that she absolutely can travel with the US visa and stamp. It will taje a few months for the actual green card so this is the problem for us. I saved the email from the gentlemen from the Mexican embassy as proof along with the guidelines on their website but I am still scared they will give her a hard time. Can anyone please share if they ever entered Mexico with a US visa and residency stamp because they didn’t yet have actual green card? Thanks so much in advance!
  2. My mother in law is arriving from Honduras To the US this weekend after passing her resident interview and being approved as a US resident. We paid the green card fee of $225 and Homeland Security explained to me that when she arrives in the US, they will stamp her passport as a US Resident and that will act as her proof of residency until the actual green card is mailed which should be around 120 days. We are traveling to Cancun Mexico the first week of January and would have loved to have her travel with us. I know it’s impossible we will receive her actual green card in the short time before we leave so I called Homeland Security and explained the situation. They told me the stamp they are going to place in her passport when she arrives, is as good as her green card and she should have no issues traveling to Mexico. However, I called the Mexican Embassy to double check and they said they would not acknowledge a stamp in her passport as proof as resident in America and she would need a Mexican Visa to travel without her actual green card. Does anyone have any experience traveling without a green card to Mexico? Thank You!!!!
  3. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH! I WAS THINKING IT MAY BE A BLESSING THEY PASSED HIS MOM FOR THE INTERVIEW EVEN THOUGH WE DIDNT SUBMIT THE FOLIO FOR HER BECAUSE IT GIVES HER A CAHNCE TO ACTUALLY SPEAK TO SOMEONE IN THE EMBASSY AS TO HOW TO PROCEED. THIS HAS BEEN SO DRAINING. I DONT EVEN KNOW HOW SOMEONE IN THE VISA CENTER PASSED HER CASE TO THE EMBASSY WITHOUT THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS>. DO YOU KNOW IF ITS TRUE THAT IF SOMEONE IS BORN BEFORE 1984 THAN A FOLIO DOESNT EXIST? IT MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL THAT THEY WANT SUCH A DIFFICULT IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE DOCUMENT
  4. HELLO EVERYONE, MY HUSBAND APPLIED FOR HIS PARENTS RESIDENCIES ALMOST TWO YEARS AGO. AFTER MANY HURDLES, HIS MOMS WAS APPROVED BY THE VISA CENTER IN THE US AND SENT TO THE EMBASSY IN HONDURAS FOR HER INTERVIEW WHICH IS IN A FEW DAYS. HIS DADS CASE KEEPS GETTING REJECTED FROM THE VISA CENTER IN THE US BECAUSE OF NOT ACCEPTING MY HUSBANDS BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND MY FATHER IN LAWS WHICH ARE BOTH CERTIFICADO DE EXPEDENTIA. THEY ARE REQUESTING COPIA DE FOLIO WHICH MY HUSBAND CAN GET BECAUSE HE WAS BORN IN 1986 HOWEVER, MY FATHER IN LAW WAS BORN IN THE 1950s AND ANYONE BORN BEFORE 1984, FROM MY RESEARCH CANNOT GET A COPIA DE FOLIO. THIS IS ALL CRAZY BECAUSE MY MOTHER IN LAWS WAS ACCEPTED AND SENT TO THE EMBASSY WITHOUT EITHER OF THE FOLIOS FOR HER OR MY HUSBAND AND IM SURE SHE WILL RUN INTO PROBLEMS WITH HER INTERVIEW. THIS IS ALL BEYOND FRUSTRATING AND IM HOPING ANYONE CAN OFFER US SOME ADVICE. WE HAVE COME SO FAR AND TO JUST NOT HAVE THIS ONE DOCUMENT IN THE FORMAT THEY WANT IS AWFUL. CAN ANYONE PLEASE OFFER ADVICE. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
